LII
*Tobias's POV*
I can see the gun pointing at her head. I can't let this happen not again. "Haven't you had enough?" I ask him angrily. "Watch your mouth, kid." He shouts at me. "You have your wife's blood on your hand!" I shout back at him as the memory of her dead body flashes back to my head. He loosens his grip around Ruby's arm. She falls to the ground. I watch him closely. "We don't talk about this!" He shouts at me. "Why? Why shouldn't we talk about it? You don't want to remember?" I shout at him as I get up. "Stay where you are, kid!" He shouts as he points the gun at me. "Kill me! Kill me, too!" I shout at him as I walk to him. I am close enough now. His gun is still pointed at me. "She was going to get me to jail!" He shouts. Well, you deserve jail! I grab the gun from him as he was looking at ground. I doubt if he even regrets shooting her. If he even loved her. I point the gun at him. I make him walk to the side. I walk to Ruby, who is on the ground, as my gun is still pointed at him. I make sure he's away from Peter as well. I squat down to her. "Ruby? You okay?" I whisper to her softly. She's crying in silent. She's shaking horribly. I hold her hand with my other hand. She hugs me. I watch him. He's looking at us. I let her sit next to Peter. "Now you get what I have been wanting to give you for years!" I shout at him. "Think this through, boy." He says as he stands while his hands are unfolded in front of him in fear. I keep my gun pointed at him. "Why didn't you think killing her through?" I ask angrily.
*flashback*
I am sitting with Elite on the ground in my room. We are playing a board game. "I am bored from this game. Let's go get some candy from the pantry." I say as I close the game as she nods to me. We open the door and sneak downstairs. "This nonsense has to stop, Gary!" I hear mother shouting. I am not used to her shouting. " I can't, okay! Where should I get the money for the kid's school?" He shouts back to her. I am used to father shouting. He's always been mean and cruel to me. "I will go work. We will find a way together." She says helplessly. "Tobias, I don't think we should be listening to this." Elite says as she grabs my arm to pull me upstairs. "Wait." I say as I look at them from behind the stairs. "No! No! You will not work! This conversation is over. For good." He shouts as he sits on the couch as he drinks from his green bottle. "I will call the police then!" She says as she holds the phone up to her ear. He gets up fast. He reaches for his pocket. His hand comes back out with a gun. A shiny black gun pointed at my mother. I feel Elite's grip on my arm. I don't look at her. My eyes are fixed on my parents. "Gary? What are you doing?" She says as fear fills up her voice. "Put that phone down, Molly. I don't want to hurt you!" He shouts with the gun still pointed at her. I grab my arm away from Elite's grip. I go down the stairs. "Tobias!" Elite calls me whispering. I don't walk back to her. I can't let him hurt my mother. "Gary!" She says as a bullet escapes his gun and collies with her chest. "Oh my god!" Elite screams, which grabs his attention. "What are kids doing here?" He shouts. I am not really listening to him. I am sure he's still talking. I walk slowly to her laying body. Blood is everywhere around her. Her blood flooding from her stomach, where the bullet hit her. I sit down on my knees next to her. I feel the warm blood as it touches my knees. "Tob..ias." She says with heavy breaths as her body starts to stop asking for oxygen. "Mom. Mom, please don't go." I cry as I feel her soft hand press again my face. "You...will.." These were her last words. Her last words to me. I let the warm tears go down my face. I feel a grip on my arm. He grabs me away from her. I watch her. She's laying there between her own blood with open eyes. "No." I sob as he seats me down on the couch. I look next to me. Elite is sitting there. She's crying her eyes out. "Listen you two! I will take her body to bury it. You both will clean." He says. How can he be so heartless? He had just killed his own wife. "And you, if you tell your parents a thing, I will kill you and your parents, understand?" He says to crying Elite. She nods in fear. He walks to her body. He picks her up and place her on his shoulder. I run up to him. "Put her down! Put her down!" I say as I hit his legs. He turns to me. "Listen, boy. You will obey me now. Your sweet mother is gone. Dead!" He says as he pushes me away. I fall to ground. I cry so hard as I watch him leave the house. "I am so sorry, Tobias." I feel Elite's arms around me. I cry into her shoulders.
*Mean time*
"Tobias?" I hear her voice. It is so sweet. I will not lose her. I am not a little boy anymore. I won't watch him shot her like he once did to my mother. "You should die!" I shout at him. "I am your father, son. Don't kill me." He pleads like a little kid. My father? "My father who killed my mother? You think I would forget? Forget how you shot her in our living room? How you made me lie? Say she was killed in an accident? No, you're not my father. You never were!" I shout at him. "Tobias, don't do this. He's not worth it. You shouldn't go to jail for his sake." She says as I feel her arms holding my arm. "Please, let it go." She says softly. "Listen to her, Tobias." "Don't you dare call me that!" I shout while hardening my grip on the gun. "Okay okay." He says as he cowards away. "Everything will be okay, I promise." She says as she plays with my hair. I calm down slowly. My eyes are fixed on him. I nod to her. I walk to way to tie him up until the police arrives. As I grab his arm. I feel his other fist crash into my face. I fall to the back due to the collision. I take a minute to regain my balance. The gun is away. I race to it as he does the same. I am too late. I hear the bullet escaping the gun.
