xix. come together

A knock on the door brought Andie from her sleep on the couch. Tom had come back to England two weeks ago, and the quartet has been spending all their time together, pestering Andie as she tried to write for her novel. Tiger Lily was helpful, being a fellow writer herself. Tom would complain about being hungry, but being too lazy to cook because he'd been doing it multiple times a day for weeks. Eden would poke and prod at Andie when she was bored. The three only left when they had to go to work, leaving Andie alone with her thoughts. As soon as they left she immediately felt unsafe, keeping Zeppelin close as she typed away. She tried everything to distract herself, but she always felt watched. Sometimes she would call Joe and he would talk her down. If he wasn't available to talk she would call her father, asking about his day, getting him to talk about anything just to distract her.

She hadn't heard from Joe in two days, which concerned her since the two of them called or texted every day. She simply had to remind herself that he was a grown man, and he was probably busy.

She groaned and stretched her arms in the air, feeling the muscles in her shoulders relax slightly. Stepping over Eden, who was sleeping on an air mattress on the floor. With a scratch of her leg and tousling of her messy bedhead, she opened the door. Andie's eyes widened and she let out a shriek as she crashed into Joe's open arms.

Her sleeping friends jolted awake and Tom began to shout, "I'm a chef I know how to use knives!" As he believed Joe was an intruder.

"Is this how your friends greet all your guests?" Joe chuckled as he let go of Andie, who had a large grin on your face.

"Only the ones that could possibly be murderers," Tom grunted and then a smirk formed on his face, "It's the guy with the cute ass!"

Andie gave Tom a look before turning back to Joe, ignoring what was said, "What are you doing here?" She smiled toothily, showing off the gap that rarely made an appearance.

"The studio hired the actors playing Paul and Mary and they wanted us to meet them," Joe explained as Andie let him in. Zeppelin circled his feet, jumping up to try to get his attention. Joe smiled, bending down to give the small dog a scratch.

Andie grinned at the sight, "Well, I'd love to meet them as well," she suddenly gasped, "I know, we'll have a dinner party!" She looked to the dark haired man on her couch.

Tom grinned, "I mean, I guess I could cook something just this once."

Joe looked at her, "Do you remember how well the last one went?"

"I promise nothing like that will ever happen again," Andie smiled and clapped her hands together, making a half-awake Tiger Lily jump, "Now, we've got a dinner to prepare!"

_

The dinner party was in full swing as laughter, the roaring fireplace, and the clinking of champagne glasses sounded throughout the house. Unfortunately, Brian and Roger couldn't make it, but Lucy and Allen were lovely replacements in their spots. As she sat across from the smiling blonde, Andie grew extremely glad that Lucy was cast. Not only would there be another woman on set, but Lucy and Andie were the same height, meaning Andie wasn't the only short one anymore.

"Thank you for having us Andrea," Allen told her, "You have a lovely home."

Andie grinned, "Thank you so much!" She took a sip of her champagne, "Feel free to stop by anytime, I'm sure Zeppelin is very attached to you all already." She glanced over to Joe, who was sitting right next to her, and watched as he talked with Ben. She could tell he was happy to see his friends in person again.

"Andie?" Lucy began, "Is that really Freddie's?" The blonde asked, her inquisitive eyes hidden behind wispy lashes as she pointed to the armband that was wrapped around her upper arm.

However, Andrea's answer was cut off by the ringing of the doorbell. Joe furrowed his eyebrows as he leaned towards her, "Were you expecting anyone else?"

"No," Andie whispered to him, standing up from her chair, "Everyone is already here."

Joe grabbed her wrist softly, in a caring nature, and shook his head, "Don't," he whispered and the room went silent, "Please, I have a bad feeling."

The knocking on the door turned into banging and Andie's face grew even more worried by the second. Joe looked at Ben, who stood along with Gwilym and the two approached the door.

There was scuffling as soon as the door opened, whoever was out there wanted inside badly, "Please let me talk to her, I want to talk to her," They begged. "Let me explain!"

It was Jefferson.

"She doesn't want you here, mate," Ben pushed him back out the door, "Piss off."

As Gwilym was about to shut the door, Andie spoke up, "Wait!"

Jefferson looked to Andie and smiled, shoving past Gwil and Ben to walk towards her, "Andrea, I want to-"

"Don't come any fucking closer," She held out her hand, "You have ten minutes to give me an explanation. I want answers."

"Andie-" Joe began, but she cut him off.

"Tom, please take everyone to the living room," She told the dark-haired man.

Joe stood quickly, "There's no way I'm leaving you alone with him," Joe's face was full of concern, "Andrea, you don't know what he'll do."

Andie brought a hand up to his face and offered him a smile of encouragement, "If I need you, I'll scream. You're only one room over."

Concerned faces passed her by as Tom lead the others to the next room over, she whispered, "Be ready to call the police," to Ben as he passed.

The two were left alone, and Jefferson smiled at her, approaching her for a hug, "I've missed you."

Andie backed away and he immediately took the hint, "Stop the act. Please, tell me why you thought all of this was okay? Jefferson, I hope you know you can go to jail for something like this." Her arms were crossed.

"Andrea, don't be like that," He sighed, "After all, you're my fiancee."

Andie scoffed, "I'm not your fucking fiancee!"

"Don't talk to me like that!" He barked, immense anger flashing over his face for a moment before fading back to calmness. Andie immediately stiffened in fear as he slowly made his way towards her, "I don't like you being around that guy, that Mazzello."

The brunette swallowed thickly, trying to choke down the fear that was rising in her throat, "You can't tell me what to do anymore. You can't control me."

"You know," Jefferson stepped closer, causing Andie to take a step back and almost trip over the coffee table, "It wasn't much of a challenge to find your friend's work schedules," He stepped aside, walking around the room as Andie stood frozen. He approached a window, looking out towards the night sky, "And with all these windows there's hardly a place to hide in here."

"Why are you doing this?" Andie choked out, tears of fear bubbling at the corners of her eyelids, "Why don't you just leave me alone?"

Jefferson approached her slowly, backing her against the wall next to the fireplace, "Don't you see, Andrea?" He tried to grab her hands, but Andie yanked her hands back. He grabbed her wrists, hard enough to leave a mark, it was unlike the grasp that Joe had only minutes before, "I love you. I love you too much to let you go." He pointed to the room where the rest of the guests were, his anger was growing, "And him? Joe? He will never love you as much as I do. He will never be good enough for you."

"Jefferson, you're hurting me," Andie said as calmly as she could.

He moved his hands up to her arms, seeing Freddie's armband wrapped around one of them, "That thing," he growled, "You always loved that thing more than me. You and that damn band, and your damn uncles," He seethed, he watched Andie's terrified face for a moment before his went back to being eerily calm, "You father carries out a very particular schedule, follows it to a tee almost every day."

"You leave my dad out of this!" Andie's eyes widened, "Jefferson I swear to god I-"

"Don't raise your voice to me like that," Jefferson growled, grabbing higher up on her arms tightly, Freddie's armband jabbing his hand and making him recoil back. "This fucking thing!" He grabbed her arm, yanking her towards the fireplace as he ripped the band from her arm, causing the woman to scream.

Joe was in the room in an instant, watching as Jefferson threw the studded loop of leather into the fire. Andie was screaming and in tears as she nearly threw herself into the fire trying to save it. Joe rushed towards Jefferson, shoving him roughly against the wall as Andie fished the now ruined band out of the fireplace with one of the fire pokers. Joe was threatening Jeff as Andie just sat and stared at the ruined memory. The rest of the men in the house went to help Joe as the women were quick to Andie's side.

"Andrea, I'm sorry!" Jefferson shouted.

Slowly standing, Andie was the one who was eerily calm now, "Get out," she demanded coldly through labored breaths.

"Andie-" Jefferson began, he was being held up by his arms as the men tried to drag him out o the house. The woman charged at him, swinging her arm so her fist connected with his nose. A deafening pop sounded and the room went silent again.

All you could hear was the crackling of the fireplace, and the sound of blood dripping from Jefferson's nose to the tiled floor.
