Chapter 62

The Fousts arrive in Minnesota two days before their court date. Adam was scheduled to meet with his lawyer the next day to go over all the information. They were to appear in court the following day.

"Wow, this is nice." Adam says as he sets down the suitcases he was carrying. He walks around the hotel room checking in the closets, drawers and bathroom. (We all do it)

"Yeah, it is." Tim replies quietly as he sets down his luggage and goes directly to the bed and lays down.

He had started to get one of his headaches as they were leaving the airport. It hurt so bad that he felt as if someone could actually see his left eye and the left side of his head throbbing.

"Holy cow, did you see the size of that walk-in shower?" Adam giggles as he reenters the sleeping area. He stops as he sees his husband laying on the bed. Tim was laying on his right side with his left arm hugging his head. "Oh, no." He adds in a whisper.

"No." Tim answers in a pained voice.

"Baby?" Adam quickly kneels down beside the bed and rubs Tim on the hip. Tim had said something about getting a headache while they were at the airport but Adam just figured it was from all the noise in the terminal. But after seeing his husband in this much pain, he knew it wasn't just a regular headache. "Where're your pills?"

"In my suitcase." Tim groans.

Adam jumps up and grabs one of Tim's suitcases and lays it on the small table in their room. Going through that one, he didn't find the pills. He was beginning to panic. Surely they didn't forget to pack them. Grabbing the other suitcase and laying it on the large tv stand, he begins to go through it, finally finding his husband's medication.

He runs to the sink and unwraps one of the plastic cups provided and fills it with water.

"Here, Sweetie, you have to raise up." Adam says as he kneels back down beside the bed.

Tim slowly raises up on his elbow and with a shaking hand takes the medication from Adam. He pops them in his mouth and washes them down with the water before laying back down.

"Scoot over a little." Adam says in a soft voice as he sets the pill bottle and the water on the nightstand.

Adam crawls into the bed next to his husband, wrapping his arms around him.

"God, it hurts." Tim groans as he lays his head over on the blonde's chest.

"I know, Baby. We'll get rid of it." Adam says in a whisper as he begins to massage the side of Tim's head where the injury had occurred.

Adam stares at the ceiling as he hums softly trying to quieten the painful whimpers of his lover. Yeah, $750,000 was a LOT of money but in Adam's mind, it should have been tripled that amount considering the pain and suffering his husband has gone through since the accident and will have to go through for the rest of his life. Not to mention, the loss of sight in his left eye.

After a few minutes, the blonde noticed that his lover had gone quiet. The pills had taken effect. Tim was out like a light. Adam kisses him on the top of the head before rolling the brunette over on his back so he could get up and unpack.

As Adam unpacked, he was deep in thought. Thoughts that made him angry. The money was a life-changer for them, sure, but look what Tim had to and will go through to make it happen. And then having to deal with Chris's sh*t wasn't making it any easier for him. Tim was a natural born worrier. He worried about everything. If the truth is known, he was probably worried about what might happen with these court proceedings which probably brought on his headache.

The ringing of the phone brought the blonde from his thoughts.

"WHAT?!" He growls as he grabs up the receiver.

"Uh...Okay?" Austin says on the other end.

"Sorry, Austin." Adam chuckles as he rubs his forehead.

"Something wrong?" Austin asks.

"No and yeah." Adam says as he sits down on the bed and turns to watch his sleeping husband, gently brushing the hair back from his handsome face.

"I'm all ears. Vent." Austin says as he sits down in the recliner.

"Well, the flight went great. No layovers. But once we got to the airport here in Minneapolis, Tim started to get one of his headaches." Adam says with a sigh.

"Ooo, that's not good. How's he doing?" Austin asks.

"He's sleeping." Adam answers.

"But you sounded pretty angry when you answered the phone. Has Chris been harassing you?" Austin asks.

"No, he doesn't know we're in town yet. I was just deep in thought when you called. Thoughts that pissed me off." Adam chuckles lightly.

"Well, I know you've been under a lot of stress during all of this. But you know that it will all be over soon, right?" Austin replies.

"Not soon enough, Austin. I've been trying to think happy thoughts." Adam giggles. "I came up with an idea while on the plane. Tim was reading so I had time to think. But I may need your help."

"You know that I'll help if I can." Austin says.

"Well, you know that we got that check from that settlement." Adam says as he continues to watch Tim sleep.

"Yeah?" Austin replies.

"IF things go as we hope during the court thing, we'll be adding $500,000 to go with that." Adam says.

The line is silent.

"Austin? You still there?" Adam asks, thinking they had lost connection.

"Yeah, I just had a minor heart attack but I'm okay." Austin says in a weak voice.

Adam laughs loudly at his brother-in-law.

"Five hundred thousand? Adam, are you kidding me?" Austin asks, still in shock from what he had just heard. "You guys will be f*cking millionaires!"

"When you get through with your anxiety attack, I'll tell you what my idea was." Adam laughs.

"I swear, I'm having hot flashes." Austin chuckles. "But I'm okay. What was your idea?"

"I know you and Tim inherited quite a bit of property when your mom passed away. And I know you guys love that old house. But truthfully? It's not big enough for our growing family. Bailey is going to be needing her own room soon." Adam says.

"So are you thinking about building on?" Austin asks. "Why would you need my help with that?"

"Actually...." Adam says with a sigh. "I was thinking about having another house built next to that one. One built on poles that we wouldn't have to worry about floods. A three bedroom. Nothing really big but one that will give us more room."

"Well... that sounds pretty awesome but we're in a three bedroom now counting the loft." Austin says. "How is it going to be any different?"

"I was thinking that maybe Chance and Sami could live in your mom's house. I mean, Chance has been staying with Rob and Sami has been staying with us. They probably would like a place of their own." Adam says as he lies down beside his sleeping husband. "But that is totally up to you and Tim."

"That does sound cool. Bailey is just about to outgrow her crib and that means she'll be sleeping with me and Olena cause there's definitely not enough room for her a bed." Austin says.

"Soooo, I have your blessing?" Adam asks with a giggle.

"Sure. Was that the help you needed?" Austin chuckles.

"Not exactly." Adam says, taking a deep breath as he looks around at Tim.

"Then what?" Austin asks as he takes a sip of his tea that Olena had brought him.

"Uh, I need your help to convince your older brother that building us another house is a great idea." Adam bites his bottom lip as he waits on an answer.

"Oh, sh*t." Austin groans as he rubs his forehead. "Can I just name my first born son after you instead?"
