Chapter 29

Adam yawns and stretches as he rolls over in bed to find his husband gone. He frowns as he runs this hand over Tim's side of the bed. He was hoping for a little early morning loving.

He gets up from the bed and slips on his pants. He could hear voices coming from the living room. He slowly opens the door and peeks out to see who was here.

Tim was sitting on the couch slipping on his boots. He stops as if he was doing something wrong as he sees his husband standing in the doorway of their bedroom with his arms folded across his chest.

"Oh, hi." Tim says quietly.

"Going to meet a boyfriend?" Adam asks, raising a brow.

"You caught me." Tim smiles.

"Well, we've had sex enough for me to know that you won't be gone long." Adam chuckles.

"Hey." Tim says with an offended look.

"Oh, that was a cut down if I've ever heard one." Austin laughs from the recliner.

"And I was going to go cut down you a Christmas tree too." Tim pouts. "Forget that."

Tim leans back on the couch crossing his arms as he sulks.

"Oh, Baby. I'm so sorry. I was only joking." Adam pouts at his husband as he sits down in his lap. "There is no one in this entire world that I would rather have make love to me than you. It's perfect every single time."

"Really?" Tim asks, giving Adam his best puppy dog eyes.

"Scout's honor." Adam says in a soft whisper as he tenderly kisses his husband's lips.

"In the case, you're forgiven." Tim smiles, kissing his husband on the cheek.

"How big of a tree are you gonna get?" Adam asks.

"Well, it can't be a humongous one cause we don't have the room." Tim answers.

"I don't think we've even had a Christmas tree since we've been married, have we?" Adam asks as he looks around trying to figure out where to set the tree.

"Before you came along, Christmas was just another day for me, Olena and Tim. Tim would fix a fancy supper and if we had the money to spare, we might get each other a little something but that was about it. There was no tree or decorating." Austin says.

"Christmas is all about being with the ones you love and you were." Adam shrugs even though it did pull on his heart strings. His parents always got the biggest tree possible and would buy everything on his and Chris's wishlist and more.

"Adam, I thought it would be fun for us to make decorations for the tree while Tim and Austin are out looking for one." Olena smiles. "I know where there is some mistletoe."

"Like stringing popcorn and stuff?" Adam says with excitement. "I've never done that. That does sound fun. We need to go to the store and get a few things."

"Like what?" Olena asks as she slips on her shoes.

"Like lights." Adam answers.

"A tree stand." Tim adds.

"Oh, and ribbons and glitter and glue." Olena says before grabbing a notebook to jot down a list of the items they needed.

"Hey, I know where there are some vines to make a wreath for the door." Austin smiles.

"This is gonna be great." Olena giggles.

Tim goes to the shed and gets the chainsaw. He meets Austin, Adam and Olena coming out of the house.

"Y'all please be careful." Tim says as he kisses his husband.

"Says the man carrying the chainsaw." Adam giggles. "You be careful."

"Come on, Satchmo." Tim calls over his shoulder as he sets the chainsaw in the back of his truck. Satchmo happily jumps into the back of the truck.

"See you in a bit. Y'all have fun." Austin says as he kisses Olena then gets into the truck.

"Tim? You might need these." Adam smiles as he hands Tim his glasses.

"Gee, what would I ever do without you." Tim says sarcastically as he slips on his glasses.

"Only the good Lord knows." Adam laughs, kissing Tim on the cheek then heads to Olena's car.

After setting all the shopping bags on the kitchen table, Olena grabs some empty shopping bags.

"Okay, let's go." She says heading toward the door.

"Where are we going?" Adam asks, following her.

"To get pine cones, mistletoe, holly and anything else we can find to decorate with." Olena answers.

It didn't take long for them to find everything they had come after.

"We can't get much more in our bags." Olena laughs as she tries to squeeze one more pine cone in. "Let's go home and get started."

~~

"How tall of a tree are we looking for?" Austin asks as they trek through the woods.

"I would say at least six feet." Tim answers glancing over his shoulder.

"Will you stop that? You're even making me nervous." Austin says, shaking his head.

"Sorry, I'm just a bit paranoid." Tim says, turning his attention back to the trees.

"No one is around. This is our property. They'd be trespassing. Besides, Satchmo is here. He'd let us know." Austin says as he tries to calm his brother's nerves.

"I'm alright." Tim says with an unsure nod.

"What about this tree?" Austin asks, pointing to an evergreen.

"Naw, too skinny." Tim replies.

"This one?" Austin asks pointing to another one.

"Naw, it has a bad side to it." Tim answers.

"We can always turn the bad side to the wall like we did when we were growing up." Austin comments.

"No, I want it to be perfect." Tim says as he continues to look.

"Why? Because it's for Adam?" Austin asks with a smirk on his boyish face.

"Well, yeah. He deserves the best." Tim smiles.

"You guys are so cheesy." Austin laughs shaking his head. "What about this one? If you say it's to short, I WILL smack you."

Tim laughs as he walks around the tree, checking it out.

The tree would be about Tim's height after it was cut down.

"It's a nice looking tree." Tim nods.

"Great! Cut it down before you change your mind." Austin chuckles.

Tim slips on some gloves and then starts the chainsaw. Austin puts on some gloves so he could catch the tree so it wouldn't fall and break the branches.

After the tree was cut down, they haul it back to the truck and head home.

They got the tree home and Tim set it up in the tree stand that Adam had bought. He and Austin brought the tree into the house and set the tree in the corner of the living room.

He spent the next 30 minutes, turning the tree one way and then another trying to satisfy Adam and Olena.

"I will never ever do this again, as long as I live." He mumbled to himself, as the two argued over which way looked better.

"Hey, Y'all!!!" Tim said sounding very annoyed. "Christmas will be over by the time ya'll agree on something."

"Well, I guess it looks fine like that." Adam says.

"Yea, It looks good." Olena nods.

Tim looks at them like they had lost their mind.

"Are you freaking kidding me?" He asks with a raised brow. "It's setting exactly where it started."

"Sorry." They said in unison.

Tim rolls his eyes and shakes his head as the two giggle.

Tim and Austin begin to string the lights on the tree while Adam and Olena finishes up the decorations.

The four working together had the tree decorated in no time. Tim plugged in the lights then joined the others on the couch.

They sat in complete silence as they stared at their beautiful tree.
