Chapter 73 - Aniket's View
Next morning the matter of yesterday wasn't mentioned anymore. No one knows that Nandini ran away and brought by Manik at the late evening. Besides it was also good that no one was aware about it too. If others knew they will question on Nandini's character. Even if she has done nothing nesty the society wouldn't let her live peacefully.
Sunaina walked into Nandini's room only to see her sleeping. She was about to wake her up but when she got closer she could see the tear stains on her cheeks. Sunaina's heart clenched at the sight. She thought of what Nandini said last night to her. Maybe they are trying to calm the situation and do whatever it takes to avoid any clash. She even knows what Manik told Nandini. Sunaina sighed and sat beside her sleeping daughter's figure. They could endure the pain keeping stone in their heart. But what about her. As a mother how can she watch her daughter dying from inside slowly without even uttering a word?
It is true that no one has future not human has power to change fate written by God. It was also true that couples are matched in heaven. And one can't refuse it. But that also doesn't mean one should give up don't try a luck. Nothing is possible without efforts and hard work. Looking at her daughter Sunaina realised, her daughter is matured now who understands things. She even liked Manik in the first glance. The way he brought her daughter home safely without any harm and the way he explained things so clearly. Sunaina knew no man would be able to love her daughter and also respect her parents like Manik. Sunaina stroked Nandini's forehead lovingly.
"Nandini dear, wake up. It's already morning"
Nandini groaned and turned other side showing her back on Sunaina, "let me sleep few more minutes mom. I slept late last night. I am still sleepy"
Sunaina knows exactly why she slept late last night. She got up and told her daughter, "I am going to make breakfast in the kitchen. By the time I am finished, I want you to wake" she then walked out of the room.
In the kitchen Sunaina saw Rima was already there.
"How is she?" Rima asked.
"Sleeping. She looked exhausted" Sunaina sighed, "I have never knew my daughter has grown up so matured. They even started to think like old aged people" she shook her head.
"To be honest Dushmant and I really liked Manik" Rima said, "he is such a charming and bright young man. But he also has good sence is situation and choice. At the first sight he paved his way to our heart. I don't understand how did Jethji stood so hard and unemotional like that. Is his heart didn't metl with such warm gesture? That young man was so composed, even though Jethji was rude he still maintained his calm side. He knows how to respect his elders. I guess if Nandini could get married to him then she will never regret in her life"
Hearing Rima's word Sunaina nodded. She shares the same thought as her. "let's make breakfast first. He even said he will be going out. If he couldn't get food in time, he will get angry again"
"Yes, yes" Rima nodded and they started to prepare food. After the breakfast the Bhatt family arrived unannounced. Sunaina and Rima was shocked. They and Nandini was sitting in the hall when their servant informed the news.
"They are here? They didn't even given any notice" Rima frowned.
"Let's welcome them first" Sunaina said and welcomed the guests. Aniket and Chandrika came in the house.
"I am sorry we came unannounced" Chandrika smiled apologetically.
"It's fine" Sunaina nodded with a half smile.
"Actually yesterday's lunch meeting was cancelled so my son become restless. He was urging me to come here" Chandrika smiled at Nandini who was sitting on sofa silently, "what can I do Aniket really fell for Nandini" she laughed.
"I will prepare tea and snacks" Rima smiled as she got up then walked towards the kitchen.
"I am sorry about yesterday, actually Nandini's dad had some important work to handle. He wanted to accompany us so we thought we could plan the lunch some other times" Sunaina explained.
"Oh Sunaina, you don't have to worry, I understand" Chandrika stated. "Umm...Aniket you were asking about Nandini all the time. Now that you are here why are you sitting like this. Go take Nandini to the garden and have some talk" she suggested.
Aniket looked at Nandini then nodded. Sunaina sighed and told Nandini with smile, "dear, bring Aniket in the garden and show him the flower collection"
Nandini got up immediately and Aniket also got. They walked outside. Chandrika looked at them and sighed.
"They looked so perfect together"
Sunaina just smiled yet she couldn't settle her heart. After the last night incident, her heart started to doubt about this arrangement and she felt something is missing to call it perfect.
In the garden Aniket was looking at Nandini intensely which made her uncomfortable. They walked around slowly watching the flowers blooming around.
"Wow, you have such a huge garden in the backyard" Aniket said.
"It's dad's choice" Nandini replied in simple sentence.
Aniket nodded, "when yesterday's plan was cancelled I was really sad. Now that we are growing towards the marriage date I am getting more restless. I felt like I couldn't stop myself from meeting you, talking to you"
"Have you ever fell in love?" This thought suddenly came in Nandini's mind and unconsciously she asked out before she could stop.
But in reply Aniket laughed, "do you believe in love?" He shook his head, "Nandini we are living in modern society. Love an all is just baseless matter that people thinks exist. To built a good relationship love is really not needed. We are all matured and I guess you can understand this point. Communication, sharing things and good sex is what can lead a good marriage. Love is commitment, and it will bound you with a shackles. As long as you can understand it and give your partner freedom you will be happy in a relationship"
His mindset about relationship really dissatisfied Nandini. So this is all he sees in relationship, communication? What will they communicate when they couldn't match their thinking and words? Sharing things? A couple shares their life in relationship not objects in the house. And good sex? So a relationship could go with only satisfying bodies but not heart?
"I never knew you have such humour about relationship. You reall thought big" Nandini replied plainly.
Aniket smiled, "as long as we understand eachother better everything will be fine"
Nandini turned turned to look at him, "do we understand eachother Aniket? I couldn't find a single word that could even match to create such understanding" she said, "I guess it's enough talking. Let's go back" before he could reply Nandini walked back in the house.
Aniket frowned slightly but followed her in.
Chandrika and Aniket stayed for a lunch. Aniket asked for a dinner date but Nandini refused saying she was not filling well. Seeing her face was pale and tired Aniket didn't pressure anymore and left with his mother.
That night Sunaina walked into Nandini's room after dinner. Indrajit was not home. He left early after breakfast and told he will be late at night. Nandini was reading a book when she saw Sunaina walking in.
"Mom?"
"I thought to check on you before getting on bed" Sunaina smiled as she sat on bed. Nandini immediately lay her head on Sunaina's lap.
"What happened?"
"Nothing" Nandini replied. "You know mom Manik took me to his house on weekends. At that time I was angry at him. He did trick me there but I didn't regret it. His family was huge and has many kind peoples. They took me in so carefully. That family is so jovial and lively. I felt like not returning anymore" Nandini sighed.
"You met his parents?" Sunaina asked.
"I met his mother. She is such a kind woman Rachna aunty was so good to me like I am her own daughter. She took care of me when I stayed there"
"Rachna?"
"Yes, Manik's mother. I didn't see his father because he was away for work. But I heard many things about his father. And looking at their I felt like that place is heaven where sadness never touched"
"What is Manik's father's name?" Sunaina frowned.
"Um... If I remember correctly then it is Vikash. Manik also has a little sister Soniya. Such a lovely girl" Nandini smiled suddenly.
Sunaina thought for a while before stroking her daughter's forehead, "it's late now. You should sleep too"
"Okay" Nandini replied. After leaving Sunaina hurried towards her room. She pulled out her old diary which she used to write in her school days. After searching for a while she saw faded name written in the page. The ink colour was dull but this diary brought her many memories.
