Chapter One
Sona's POV
If I could change one thing, it would be making the world less judgemental.
How the society judges us by the types of clothes we wear or the small errors we make, the way we talk, walk, sit or even eat. Differentiating between a man and a woman and the type of work they're supposed to do. It's because of that type of behaviour that dreams of thousands of people have been killed off.
That's one of the reasons, that I want to show the world that even a lady can rise and bring her family success. It's not always about men.
That's who I am striving to be. I am the CEO of FuturaCare Labs and I would like to achieve those heights which no one else has yet been able to. The first lady to do it. I can and will do it, for my family and myself. That's what I mutter to myself every morning.
One of my favorite things to do before starting my day is to take a jog in the local park. So that's where I am right now. It's a beautiful scenery, the golden sun begins to rise, coloring the dark sky.
I sit down on the bench for a water break as I see my neighbour pass by. "Good Morning Sheela Aunty, how are you and Pinki doing?" I asked her while drinking a sip of water.
"Oh, beta (child) Pinki and I are totally fine, Pinki just came back from Australia finishing her Master's. What about you? You are not over working yourself na?" Sheela Aunty says.
"Oh, that's great news Aunty. Congrats to Pinki. No, no Aunty I'm not stressing myself, just the daily routine." I reply, giving her a smile.
After a long jog, I returned home. I went to my room and took a quick shower.
Today, I have an important meeting at 10 A.M. with clients from London. So I decided to choose the most appropriate outfit from my walk in wardrobe.
I finally decided on a three-forth crisp red pencil skirt, with a white polo tee and a red blazer with nude heels. After the jog, I was famished, so I decided to head to the dining area for some warm and healthy breakfast.

"Good Morning Sona beta," greeted Baba (Father), joyfully.
"Good Morning Maa, Baba." I greeted my parents, while settling myself on a chair.
"What's for breakfast today, Maa?" I asked my mother sweetly.
"Aaj tera favourite banaya hai-"(today I've made your favourite dish) Maa was answering me while someone interrupted her.
"Your favourite Ragi Dosa, Sona. Healthy bhi hai, toh natak mat karna." (It's healthy, so don't make excuses) Elena says, popping out of nowhere.
"Good Morning to you too, Ellie." I greet her playfully with a smile. Elena is my younger cousin sister, who has always been my best friend too. We both are crazy together and are shopaholics. Elena has been staying with us since the death of her parents in a car accident.
"So Ellie, going to college today? When are your exams approaching? Perhaps I can help you with something." I asked her meticulously.
"You don't have any affairs with any guys in the college na? What about that Rahul, who was your partner?" I asked her slyly, hiding a snort.
"SONA DI!" Elena yells out. "Arey dekho na Masi, Meso, Sona mujhe pareshan kar rahi hai!"
(Please look at Sona, she's disturbing and teasing me.)
"Okay, okay I'm sorry Ellie!" I tell her with a mocking cry face.
I finish my breakfast as soon as possible, as I have to reach the office by 9AM sharp and being the boss myself, I can't be late.
I wash my hands quickly, take my handbag, and wait on the foyer for Jatin to come along quickly. Jatin is one of my best childhood friends' and the only one who is still in contact with me. He also stays at my home with my family.
"Maa, is Jatin coming today only or will he come tomorrow? Should I leave, I'm getting late!" I yell from the foyer to my mother, restlessly. I'm not such a patient person, very short tempered too, especially if someone makes me wait for a long time.
"Sure, go on Sona. I'll catch with you later, directly in the office. Go fast Miss. CEO!" Jatin yelled from the kitchen with a laugh.
"Fine! Bye and love you all!" I told them quickly. I grabbed my brand new BMW car keys and headed towards the garage. The car was a gift from my parents on my 25th birthday recently.
I drove the car out of the garage and headed straight to office. I reached the office within forty-five minutes and rushed in.
