Malhotra Mansion

As it was a holiday today, Manik decided to utilize it to the fullest by sleeping. But his mobile has some other plans as it started buzzing continuously. He lazily picked up the call.

Manik: This better be important otherwise, I don't care who you are, you have to face my wrath.

Caller: Good morning baby. Subah subah ashubh nahi bolte.

Manik: Nandu yaar, teri problem kya hai? Kyun meri neend ke piche padi hui hai.

Nandu: Manik Malhotra, wake up and come here, right now.

Manik: I am sleeping.

Nandu: Manik, please.

Manik: Hey, is everything ok? Leave it. Just wait, I will be there in 5.

Manik goes to Murthy mansion as soon as he can and finds Nandu with her head hung low, Soha along with Harshad and his father sitting with Raman. Being confused, he asks Nandu through his eyes about 'what's going on' and she replies with a 'no idea' look.

Raman: Mr. Saxena, both my kids are here. What do you want to talk about?

Mr. Saxena: Mr. Murthy, I am just here to talk to you about your daughter and her friend. We were happy by her alliance with my son and suddenly one day she comes to him and says that she has a boyfriend. Was she cheating all the time on my son? Do you know how heartbroken he was? It's so sweet of Soha that she understood him and is helping him get out of his heartbreak. Why did she even agree to be with my son, when she loves someone else?

Raman(controlling his anger): Nandini what's all this? Who's this boyfriend again?

Manik: Papa, let me explain. Actually...

Before, he could explain anything Nandini out of nowhere took a name of her 'boyfriend' which is enough to give a heart attack to Manik.

Nandu: Manik.

Manik, Raman: What?

Nandu: Yes papa. It's Manik. I am sorry, uncle. I realized it a bit late. I don't want to spoil Harshad's life when I am in love with Manik. So I broke up with him.

Both Manik and Raman were in shock. Seeing them motionless, Soha asked.

Soha: What about Harshad, Nandini?

Nandu: Saxena Uncle, yeh sab maine Harshad ke khushi ke liye hi kiya hai. Haina Harshad.

Harshad: Haan dad. She is right.

Nandu: It's ok Harshad. If your dad wants, main abhi isi mandap mein tum se shaadi karne ko tayyar hun.

Raman: Nandini, what the hell are you talking?

Nandu: Please dad. Mujhe roko mat. Batao Harshad, karle shaadi isi mandap mein?

Soha: Lekin Nandini, yeh ghar hai, mandap nahi?

Nandu(mutters to hersefl): Iski tho main

Nandu: Arey movies mein dekha nahi hai kya Soha, aise sudden shaadiyon mein ek matchstick se curtain jalakar, ladki ladka saath phere lete hai. Bas hogayi na shaadi.

Nandu: Manik get me a matchstick.

Manik didn't move an inch as he was shooting daggers at her. Nandu goes towards Mr. Saxena and Harshad.

Nandu: Saxena uncle, aap chaho toh main is shaadi ke liye tayyar hun. Harshad you know na, that I care for you.

Harshad nods in a yes.

Soha: Haan tho kar lo shaadi.

Harshad(sweating): Soha, do you even realize what you are saying? Dad, mujhe shaadi nahi karni hai. I realized that we don't love each other. We just care for each other. Ghar chaliye na, please.

Saxena: But..

Harshad: Please Dad.

His dad leaves in anger and Soha too leaves along with him. While Harshad stays back and goes towards Nandu.

Harshad: Nandu, I am sorry. I tried stopping dad but vo maane hi nahi.

Nandu: It's ok Harshad. Tumne try kiya. Wahi bahut badi baat hai mere liye.

Harshad: Bye.

Nandu: Bye, Harshad. Take Care.

Raman: Nandini Murthy. You better explain all this drama.

Nandu: papa, Manik will explain.

Manik goes and sits on the sofa with a pout.

Manik: Hamesha main hi kyun phasta hun? Ek tho main apna pyaara sa neend chodkar aaya hun aur yahan aakar mujhe kuch samaj nahi aa raha. Papa, I am not responsible for any of this.

Nandu: How can you back out like this leaving me all alone?

Raman: I know tune hi kuch kiya hai. Mere bete ko bich mein mat kheech. What is that shaadi thing? Who the hell is he to permit my daughter to get married? Aur tu? Tune meri taraf dekha bhi nahi yeh sab bakwas bolte time. Shaadi ke liye apne aap tayar ho gayi.

Nandu: Papa, ab aap bhi drama mat karo. I know he won't get married to me. He still thinks that we are vampires. So chill.

She goes towards Manik and pokes him.

Manik: Kya hai?

Nandu: Baby, mere par itna gussa kyun hote ho?

Raman: Baby? Aur you two serious?

Manik gets all frightened and hurriedly explains him. 

Manik: Oh shit. Papa aisa kuch nahi hai. We were just acting in front of Harshad to show him that Nandu's story is real. We wanted to tell you all this before but you people left for meeting and after that Soha came. Papa, I am really sorry, you have to listen to all these things from someone else.

Raman: Arey Manik kitna sorry bolega? I know yeh is ladki ka idea hai and she is sitting all unaffected. Tu kyun itna tension le raha hai beta?

Manik: papa vo..

He goes and hugs him.

Raman: Relax Manik.

Nandu: I think I am invisible.

Raman: How can you be invisible? Itna sab kuch karne ka baad vo bhi. Main pehle hi bata rahu Nandu, tu agar yeh curtain jalakar shaadi karegi na kisi se, main nahi maan raha us shaadi ko.

Nandu: As if I am dying to get married. Come on, that was a stupid idea.

Manik: Nandu, if this drama is done, Can I leave? I need to sleep.

Nandu nods and Manik leaves. But she remembers something and runs behind him and finds him just outside her house.

Nandu: Manik wait.

Manik: Kya hua?

She hugs him and replies.

Nandu: I am sorry. Suddenly, Harshad aur uske dad ko dekh liya toh kuch samajh nahi aaya. So, I called you.

Cupping her face, Manik says,

Manik: Hey, Murthy. Tu kabse mujhe sorry bolne lag gayi? Waise mujhe call karne ki zaroorat nahi thi. Tune hi kaam khatam kar diya.

Nandu: You know right, you are my strength. Tujhe dekh kar confidence aa gaya.

Manik ruffles her hair and pecks her forehead.

Manik: Go and sleep. Shaam mein bahar jayenge.

Nandu: Manik, Soha?

Manik: We will talk later. I am sure, I am not leaving her this time.

Nandu: Manik, let's talk together. You don't say anything.

Manik nods. They both go and sleep. They spend their afternoon with their families since evening is planned for friends. 

Jo jo free ka khana khane tayyar the, sorry people. Nandu bachi hai abhi. Itne jaldi shaadi thodi na hogi. 😝😝
