Nani stood at the front door "Im going to go out now, get some food"

Omkara looked up from his phone, the picture of Gauri smiling still at the forefront of his mind "Do you want me to come with you"

She shook her head, "No, Jenny will take me"

Omkara's brows furrowed "Jenny"

The door opened, a small woman with chestnut brown hair looked over at him, she smiled

Omkara smiled back, he waited against the wall as Nani walked to the kitchen

"You're her grandson right, Omkara, she talks about you a lot" she smiled, "I didnt know you were so handsome"

Omkara stepped back, he looked down at her hand about to touch his arm "Gauri" he stuttered "I have a wife, her name is Gauri"

Her eyes lit up "You have a wife, but she's not here is she, but I am" she stepped back as Nani walked in

"Shall we go" she asked, Jenny linked her arm through hers and walked out with her

Anika looked down at her phone "See, I warned you before we got here it was going to be cold"

Gauri sniffed "Now isnt the time to act like my mother, I made a mistake" she rolled her eyes

Anika shook her head, laughing "Its okay, it just gives Omkara an excuse to look after you"

She stretched her hand out before the taxi as it came to a halt, and they both sat inside Anika grabbed her hand "You know which hotel ill be at, ill see you tomorrow morning"

Gauti hugged her "Thank you for all you've done for me"

"You stuck with me when we were young, when we had no one else but eachother, I owe you my life, dont thank me and embarass me"

Gauri smiled "Okay, I wont thank you again, but I wont ever forget all you've done for me"

Anika winked "You better not" she got out of the car, waving as the taxi drove off again

Omkara opened the door "That was" he stopped as Gauri looked up at him. He wanted nothing more than to fall to his knees, apologising and begging for her forgiveness. But he had to keep her safe

"Well, aren't you going to let me in" she asked

"You shouldn't be here, go home G"auri

Maybe these few minutes would be enough to make him strong enough to set her free

"No" her eyes darkened, she wasn't going to give up without a fight

"What do you mean no" Omkara didnt want her to argue, he didnt have the strength in him to make her cry again

"Exactly what I said" she sneezed, her head shaking

"You're ill" he stated, pulling her indoors "Cant you ever take care of yourself, all these hours you work you tire yourself out"

She continued to stare up at him, unblinking, he quickly moved his hands off of her arms once he had realised what he had said

"Did you really think you could just leave and I wouldn't come after you, that isnt how any of this works" she wasnt going to tell him about the letter, not yet, she would wait for him to tell her why he left

She stepped forward, making him step back "So, why did you leave Omkara, is it because you dont want me anymore, if so, you'll be more than happy to sign these divorce papers and set me free" she pulled them out of her pocket, handing it out to him

"Divorce papers, why do you want a divorce" he ripped the paper from her hand, tearing it up, he threw it to the ground

"Well whats the point in staying married if you left me, atleast set me free, allow me to be happy with someone else, that's only fair right" she inched closer to him, backing Omkara up against the wall

"No, you are my wife and you'll stay as my wife, there will be no divorce" he rasped

"Then why did you leave Omkara"

"Because" he huffed "Im not doing this right now"

"Then when" she grabbed his wrist "Because im not leaving here until I get answers, either sign the papers or tell me what you're hiding, your choice, but if you do decide a divorce is what you want, good luck getting more papers from India when we are in New York"

Gauri walked away, dragging her suitcase to his room, she slammed the door behind her

Nani sat before Gauri, discussing her day when Gauri looked up

"Where's Omkara" she asked, standing up

She walked to the corridor, her eyes widened as Jenny raised her hand to touch Omkara

She grabbed her hand, standing before Omkara "I dont think we've been acquainted "I'm Gauri, Omkara's wife"

Omkara looked down at her gratefully, releasing a shaky breath as Jenny stepped back

"Oh, didnt even know he had a wife, he never mentioned it" she turned to Omkara "Oh well, was fun while it lasted"

Gauri dropped her hand "What, looking at my husband like a drooling dog"

Omkara chuckled from behind her, his Gauri really was a force to be reckoned with

Jenny stormed out angrily, Gauri turned back to face Omkara "I'm not done with you, dont look at me like that"

Nani stood watching them, she shook her head "Its my bed time I believe, please kids, keep it quiet" she was happy that Gauri wasnt giving up on Omkara yet, though she really would need to have some stern words with Jenny

Gauri nodded, she moved out of the way, allowing her to get to her room

She stopped by Gauri, kissing her cheek "Take care Gauri, dont you let him mess you around"

She smiled "Never"

She lifted her hand, tapping Omkara's cheek "You take care of her, you know she's my faviourate"

Omkara looked over at his wife, then nodded slowly, he couldn't help but agree. She was his faviourate too

Gauri sneezed again, her nose a dark red, she shivered

Omkara sat beside her on the bed, "You cold"

She nodded, then remembering Anika's words she turned to face him"Body heat is meant to be the fastest way to warm someone up" she hinted. Without allowing him to reply she moved closer to him, leaning into his hold, she closed her eyes

He wrapped an arm around her body, pulling her closer His chin atop her head, Omkara had missed having her so close, though he knew these mixed signals would do her no good, he couldn't make himself let go

It wasnt until she had stopped shivering and her eyes were on the verge of closing that she heard him speak again

"He wanted me to leave you, if I didnt then he would come after you, I just wanted to keep you safe, maybe I will never be right for you because I can't keep you safe from monsters like him, but I just dont want to let you go, you filled my life with colour, when my life was just full of darkness"

He smiled as he reminisced

"Why has the car stopped, I have somewhere to be" he groaned angrily

"Its holi sir, the street is full of people having fun, they're from the orphanage"

He shook his head, life was no place for fun, he pushed the car door open and stepped outside. His eyes wandered over the many people when a young woman stopped before him

"Happy Holi" she cheered, the way her chocolate brown eyes lit with happiness was intriguing, he had never seen such happiness before

Her arm brushed against his as she was knocked forward, she noted how he flinched, her eyebrows furrowed

"Sorry, are you alright" he couldn't find the words to reply to her, just being so close to her was enthralling

She was beautiful, she smiled gently then frowned

"Oh no, I am so sorry, are you deaf" then she laughed again "See again I am talking and you can't hear me"

"Im not deaf" he responded making her jaw drop

She was knocked forward again, making the platter of red powder rise into the air, it came back down covering them both in it. Her hands gripped his shoulders tightly as she tried to blink through the powder

He pulled out his handkerchief, handing it out to her, she took it, muttering a thanks and started to pat her face with it, then shook it and held it back out

He took it from her, slipping it back into his pocket "You missed some in your hair"

She leant down, looking into the side mirror of the car, gasping "Haha, I look like i'm married" she rubbed at the red in her hair, then shrugged "Anyway, it was nice meeting you, have a great Holi"

Omkara sat back into his car

"Sir, you're smiling" the driver uttered, gobsmacked

Omkara frowned, then looked back out the window as the girl ran off "Yeah, I guess I am"

Omkara stood up, lying Gauri down "I guess you were always my happiness, but now im going to set you free" he kissed her forehead and made his way to the kitchen, grabbing the sharpest knife he could find
