Abby was making her way into her bedroom after finishing the entirety of the movie with her aunt and sister and then heading to shower. She spots Edward seated on the edge of her bed, wearing a smile on his face. 

"Hey" he greets, his tone airy and light.

"Hi" Abby says, "how long have you been waiting for me?" she questions, feeling bad about making him wait.

"You were spending some time with your family, love, there's nothing wrong with that" he replies in sweet reassurance.

"You're too good for me" she says, putting her dirty clothes in her clothing bin before putting her toiletry bag away too.

"And here I was under the impression that it was you who was too good for me" he replies sincerely as she made her way toward him, joining him on her bed as they lay beside one another. "If I wanted to try something, would you let me?" he asks her.

"It depends" Abby says, "what do you want to try?" she asks him.

"I want...to kiss you" he admits sheepishly, feeling his courage waver as he finished his sentence. Abby blushes at this but she nods and gives him her consent.

"Okay" she says as they sat up and gently took her face into his hands, hesitating a bit as Abby's heart raced in her chest.

He kisses her.

A tender, soft and sweet kiss before drawing back a bit as Abby opened her eyes to meet his gaze. Edward kisses her again when he sees no rejection in her eyes.

Abby's fingers knot into his hair as she deepens their kiss.

Their lips part when they deepen their kiss but just as abruptly he draws back from her, halfway across the room in the blink of an eye.

"I'm sorry" she says, "Babe, I'm really sorry" she says in mortification. She didn't want to push him again.

"N-No" he says, shaking his head, "it's not your fault, love" he says to her. "I-I don't want to lose control with you" he adds, "I'd never forgive myself" he says, sounding upset at the hypothetical possibility.

"You showed strength though" Abby praises him with a sweet smile. "That wasn't the case for me" she says in embarrassment.

"Don't be embarrassed, love" he says, "we just...have to be careful" he adds as Abby nods at this.

She pats the empty spot beside her as he made his way toward her and sank into the bed beside her, careful to exert control on himself.

He underestimated his urges, lust and love for Abby and he almost lost control of himself.

He can't let his stronger emotions and impulses get the better of him.

Not with her. Not with Abby.

It had been Emmett that had encouraged him to kiss Abby and test the limits of his control with her.

Edward had been embarrassed even talking with his brother about it since Emmett liked joking about virtually everything and in the beginning he had, citing things like: "It's about time, Eddie" and "so the day has come when our boy start to realize that he's a man then, ey Eddie?"

Part of the reason he and Rosalie hadn't returned until Abby left was because Rose was angry and for an angry Rose that meant Emmett had to calm her down and doing so usually meant sex.

The thought of it made Edward uncomfortable and sick and he always worked extra hard to keep himself from hearing his family's thoughts or even seeing the mental pictures of what they do behind closed doors.

Abby was seated on her couch as she watched a movie with her sister and Mei.

"So why isn't Eddie boy joining us again?" Tia asks her sister.

"He said that he wanted me to enjoy some time with my family and friends" she says.

"That's some cute shit" Mei acknowledges, "usually guys want their girlfriends to spend their time with mostly them" he says.

"In all fairness, it is because they're dating and they want to spend time with them" Tia states, eyes trained on the TV.

"That doesn't mean that the person that you date must be the center of your life" Mei says, "I would flip my shit if someone doesn't even give my space to breathe" she admits, "like damn, let me at least miss you or some shit like that" she says as Abby and Tia laugh at this.

"You're so freaking crazy Mei" Tia says with a snort.

"Thank you, sweetheart" Mei says, accepting that as a compliment and making Abby snort amusedly at this.

"So Mei, your exes haven't taken issue with you needing your space from them sometimes?" Tia asks her as she ate her popcorn.

"No" Mei adds, "but that's mostly because the people I date aren't from this backward town" she adds, "can you just imagine me and one of the people in this place? Gross" she adds in disgust.

"Hey, what's wrong with the people of Forks?" Abby asks in mock offense.

"Oh Abby come on" Mei says with a dry, pointed look. "Even you're dating Cullen, who isn't exactly from this town so..." she adds as she makes a face as if to say 'I rest my case', "plus there was already space between me and my exes in the form of physical distance so we're good" she adds.

"Did you enjoy your time with your Mei and Tia?" Edward asks Abby when he came to check up on her that night.

"Yeah, it was good" Abby admits, "but I did miss you" she admits with a blush.

"I missed you too, love" he replies. "But you needed this" he says, "a complete day that's solely for you and your family" he adds.

"Had anyone ever told you that you're the most thoughtful boyfriend ever?" she asks him with a grin.

"No" he says with a mischievous grin, "but you're welcome to say it if you want to" he says.

"Glad to see your ego is intact" she teases him with a playful smile.

"I try" he says with a fake shrug of modesty, causing Abby to playfully roll her eyes at this, "it's Alice who's made me realize that while spending all our time together is nice, I must also leave you to enjoy some 'girl time" he says with air quotations as Abby chuckles at this.

"Remind me to thank Alice when I see her again" Abby says to him, joining him on her bed. "So what did you do today?" she asks him, curious to hear about his day.

"I went hunting with Jasper and Emmett" he admits to her.

"So guy time?"

"Except we don't have a name for it" Edward teases with a grin.

"So what if you do" Abby teases, "I'm sure Alice, Rosalie and Esme have their own girl time so you guys have guy time, no shame in it" she adds as they lay in her bed together and chatted some more.

⚜️Crashing Into You⚜️

It was so strange to Abby that she been dating Edward for months.

The time seemed to pass so fast. One minute she was finding out what he really is and now she's about to go on another of many dates with him.

"So where is he taking you?" Tia asks her older sister nosily.

"I don't know" Abby says, "he said to dress casual" she adds.

"That definitely scratches out dinner then" Tia says, "maybe he's taking you hiking like what he and his family like to do?" she suggests, recalling the stories of how their family always went hiking when the weather was nice, "but that's crazy because the weather said a thunderstorm is headed this way" she adds.

"Or..." Abby starts, "we're just going to hang out" she adds.

"Ugh, you two do that basically all the time anyway" Tia muses aloud, "although" she says, "somehow you two never seem to get tired of one another and that's really cute!" she gushes, "gosh, I feel like a proud parent" she says, wiping away a mock tear.

Abby snorts at this.

"Yeah okay, whatever you say, Tia" she says as she went to go grab herself a bottle of water from the fridge.

Edward hoots as Tia cheers excitedly at this.

"Ooh, he's here!" she says as she leaps out of her seat to go open the front door while Abby followed after her sister with an eyeroll. "Does Aunt Viv know that you're going out with him today?" she asks her sister.

"Yes, I cleared it with her" Abby replies.

"Okay" Tia nods, "maybe I should also get myself a boyfriend" she muses aloud, "you have Eddie and aunt Viv has Charlie so maybe I need my own guy" she adds with a wistful sigh as Abby rolls her eyes at this before she opening the front door. "Hi Eddie!" she greets optimistically as he leaned against his car, waiting for Abby.

Today he came with the Jeep, which Abby arches an intrigued brow at.

Given how much he loves his Volvo she's surprised that he didn't use it today.

"Hey Tia" he greets in his smooth, velvety voice, waving back at her. "Ready to go, babe?" Edward asks Abby, opening the passenger side door for her.

"Yeah" Abby nods, "be safe" she directs to her sister.

"What am I? 3?" Tia asks with a mocking scoff, "of course I'll be safe and besides, Stephanie and the others will be here in a few so I'll be A-okay" she says as she holds up her thumbs at this, making Abby snort at her sister's silliness before making her way toward Edward who held the door open for her. "Have fun, you two! Don't do anything that I wouldn't!" she adds cheekily, causing Edward to chuckle at this.

"I'm going to kill her" Abby says underneath her breath, knowing that he can hear her as she climbed into the passenger side and put on her seatbelt while Edward sent Tia another wave bye before making his way to the driver's side and hopping in.

"Why are we taking the Jeep today?" Abby asks him.

"Today where we're going has a bit of a...rocky terrain" he says before grabbing a baseball cap and placing it on her head.

"A baseball cap? Are we going to play baseball?" she asks him amusedly.

"There's a thunderstorm coming so it's the only time that we really get to play" he explains to her, "you'll see why" he adds with a wink, making Abby chuckle at his enthusiasm.

Edward drove them into woods and it was quite a journey to get there and Abby started to realize why he brought the Jeep.

They drive into a clearing in the woods where Abby sees his family already there, waiting for them. "Ooh, this seems like it's going to be fun" she says to him.

"Hopefully it will be" Edward replies after having made his way to her side of the car in order to open her car door for her as she shot him a sweet smile at this.

He was always such a gentleman.

Emmett and Esme make their way toward them, to greet them.

"Abby, oh good, you're here" Esme greets with her signature kind smile, "we need an umpire" she says.

"I know very little about baseball" Abby admits sheepishly.

"Either way, you'll be helpful, Sabrina" Emmett says, "Esme thinks we cheat" he reveals with a big, crooked grin.

"I know you do" Esme replies with a smile, "call them how you see them, Abby" she says.

"Okay" Abby says with a chuckle, "but fair warning, I'm going to be the umpire from hell" she warns with a playful grin as the three chuckle at this.

"You better be, Sabrina" Emmett teases with a grin before flashing off to his spot.

"Oh you're so going to get it, Hulk" she vows, knowing that he can hear her while Edward and Esme laugh at this as thunder rumbles in the background.

⚜️Crashing Into You⚜️

Watching the Cullens play is extraordinary for Abby to see. She stood beside Esme who was serving as the catcher while Abby was the umpire.

Alice pitches the ball at an incredible speed and Rosalie hits the ball with an aluminum bat, the sound of the ball ricocheting off the bat is extremely loud and Abby comes to realize that the thunder is so that they can hide the loudness of their playing.

"That has to be a home run" Abby comments when Rosalie took off as the ball shot through the air like rocket. Rosalie was complete blur to Abby's eyes as she ran.

"Edward's very fast" Esme retorts when he took off as fast as the ball.

Abby waited in anticipation to see what would happen next.

Edward threw the ball with lightning speed from wherever he was and Esme catches it a millisecond before Rosalie slides in.

"You're out" Abby says as Esme nods at this while Rosalie scoffed at Abby.

Emmett cheers loudly at this, causing Rosalie to shoot him a look.

"Babe, come on. It's just a game" he says, trying to placate her.

"Nice going" Carlisle says to Rosalie, playing peacemaker.

He steps up to the first base as Alice pitched for him too.

He was just as fast as his family and took off in a blur as Emmett and Edward both ran to catch the ball only to collide into one another as a loud rumble filled the air.

Abby chuckles at this, realizing that it sounded like the crash of thunder.

Edward and Emmett help one another up with laughs of delight, completely undeterred.

Emmett throws the ball back to Alice while Carlisle stopped at one of the bases.

Next was Jasper and it was much of the same as Carlisle took off to make a home run, while Jasper also ran to do the same as Emmett leapt on a tree and caught the ball.

"Impressive" Abby remarks.

"My monkey man" Rosalie says in a praising tone as Emmett threw the ball back to Alice. Rosalie had another turn again and all seemed to be going well until Alice screamed for them to stop.

"STOP!" she shouts, causing them to turn and face her in question. Edward was next to Abby in a flash, having read the distress in Alice's mind. Everyone else ran toward them, congregating around them. "They were leaving but they heard us" Alice reveals to Edward.

"What–?" Abby starts but Edward speaks before she can say anything else.

"Let's go" he says as he grabbed her arm gently, ready to lead her off.

"It's too late now" Carlisle says to them, "to leave now will seem suspicious" he says.

Abby doesn't think that she's ever seen Edward as stressed or tensed as he looked now.

"Get your hair down, love" he says as he rearranged her hair to cover her neck.

"Like that'll help, I could smell her from across the field" Rosalie says in a snide tone as Abby takes Edward's hand into her own as if to reassure him that they'll be okay even though she has no idea what's going on.

"I shouldn't have brought you here. I'm so sorry" he says apologetically.

"Edward, what's going on?" she asks fearfully.

"Just be quiet and stand behind me, love" he says just when spots three individuals materialize from the edge of the forest.

They were also vampires, Abby realizes from her spot behind Edward.

They were all bare footed and their eyes weren't golden like the Cullens but rather a deep burgundy.

There was a dreadlocked man of African descent and two Caucasians, one male and the other female. The female had reddish hair while the male had long blonde hair that was tied into a ponytail.

"I believe that this belongs to you" the dreadlocked man at the fore said in a slightly French accented voice as he held up the baseball and threw it to Carlisle at an almost blinding speed.

"Thank you" Carlisle says in a polite tone though Abby could detect a sterness in his tone that she's not used to hearing.

"I'm Laurent and this is Victoria and James" he says as he gestured to his companions.

James was looking straight at Abby and he made her feel really uncomfortable but she was trying not to elevate her heartbeat even though she was terrified.

"I'm Carlisle. This is my family" he replied, gesturing to all of them. "I'm afraid your hunting activites have caused something of a mess for us" Carlisle reveals to them.

"Our apologies" Laurent says, "we didn't realize the territory had been claimed" he adds.

"Yes well, we maintain a permanent residence nearby" Carlisle retorts. The other vampires appeared surprised by this.

"Really?" Laurent says in surprise. "Well, we won't be a problem anymore. We were just passing through" he adds.

"The humans were tracking us but we led them east. You should be safe" Victoria informs them.

"Excellent" Carlisle replied with a tight smile.

"So...could you use three more players?" Laurent asks them. "Oh come on. Just one game" he adds when he sees their hesitancy.

"Sure, why not" Carlisle says politely. "Two of us were leaving so you can take their place" he ssys, "we'll bat first" he says as he threw the ball back to Laurent only for Victoria to catch it.

"I'm the one with the wicked curve ball" she informs them.

"Oh well I think we can handle that" Jasper replies with an amused smirk at this as Emmett chuckled amusedly at this too.

They all chuckle at this as they turned to go get ready only for a traitorous gust of wind to blow through Abby's hair, exposing her neck as she tenses at this.

"You brought a snack" James adds after sniffing the air as Edward pushed Abby behind him before hissing protectively at this as the other Cullens flank him as they also hiss in warning at this.

Fuck, Abby cusses internally.
