poor Actual Bobby

The murder cult that normal Bobby grew up in is now a demon worshiping cult

they're actually descendants of some of the survivors from Nightmare and Dream's old village, after Nightmare's very first murder spree

Half of the survivors continued what they were doing and basically worshiping Dream, but the other half started worshiping Nightmare, still under the assumption that he was a demon

'half' being used as a very rough approximation

Very near to the present, they decided to try and summon Their Lord Nightmare and they thought they needed a vessel, because supposedly Nightmare was dead.

They didn't believe he was truly dead because he was totally a demon and everything, they just thought someone had 'defeated' him and he'd returned to hell or the void or whatever to heal and plot his vengeance

anyways they wanted a vessel and that ended up being Bobby. They carved a bunch of runes into Bobby's skin so he'd be able to 'receive' Nightmare's soul

nightmare however is not a demon so the ritual basically just did a google search and found a random demon that had the word 'nightmare' somewhere in their lore

Right at the end of the ritual though JR broke in and arrested everyone, but they were too late to actually stop it and save Bobby

Bobby went quietly and he appeared to have been kidnapped so they gave him a nicer cell

they were going to ask him what happened and get him some therapy maybe but then Randy broke him out and Bobby left a pile of guards' bodies in front of his cell

He still admires Nightmare, but not in the same way. he is also aware that nightmare is not a demon in the literal sense he's just a mostly human guy with pointy ears and immortality who chooses murder

He wants to eventually take over the universe, and perhaps even the multiverse, and he wants Nightmare's help. Also maybe Error and Cross' but mostly Nightmare's.

He doesn't realize that Dream's god complex is just a simple complex, so his first goal is to find a way to kill him. he also does not realize that nightmare would not be happy with this and killing dream would also kill nightmare. it's probably fine

when he does realize that Dream's not a real angel or god or whatever. uh. dream's not going to live very long.

His nickname is Fester

the longer he's possessed the less human he looks
