hahahAHHAHAHHA MORE PROMPTS
Here it is again. Same book, same person as last time. Happy to oblige (Also there will be another)
And hell yes I'm tying this into the child thing
Error had finally been reverted back into his adult form. Nightmare was still a kid, but then he was shrunk a few days after Error. The paint would wear off soon enough.
It took about three weeks, but it had.
He was finally able to go back to destroying, and was looking for a good AU candidate when, though his viewing portals, he saw Ink and Dream practicing.
And once again, Ink had a new paint.
Dream seemed to notice it, because he yelped and shied away when it started to collect on the business end on Ink's paintbrush. Error couldn't hear what they were saying, but Dream was backing farther and farther away as Ink talked. Dream shook his head frantically, apparently not wanting to be Ink's next guinea pig.
Ink seemed to slump in deafest, and went to change the paint.
Unfortunately, Error wasn't the only one who'd been watching.
Fresh appeared next to them out of nowhere, and his voice carried all the way to Error.
"Yo, Star brahs! Whatcha up t-"
Ink, impulsive and reflexive, hit Fresh with the experimental paint. Error heard Dream screech, "INK WHAT THE HECK" and Ink yell, "OH SHIZ I FUNKED UP"
When Fresh shook off the paint, there was something different about him.
Error had to zoom in to see what it was, but once he did he had to spit out the chocolate he was casually chewing.
It was hard to tell with skeletons, since they didn't really have gender-specific traits like other monsters or humans, but Fresh was most definitely no longer a he.
The thing that most tipped off Error?
The scrunchies, the hydroflask, and the writing on Fresh's jacket that hadn't been there before.
'I'm a skinny legend, sister'.
"Brah what the fresh heck-" Fresh's glasses, which seemed to be the only part of the original outfit that had remained intact, turned blank as he-SHE-heard her now high-picthed voice.
"...Brah. Did you just-did you just make me a brosephina?"
Ink and Dream starred at her in horror. "Oh my god, Ink," Dream exclaimed. "How do you keep doing this?!? You have to stop experimenting with your magic like this its-" He stopped. Ink's expression had changed to mischievous glee.
"No," Dream warned, suddenly paling. "I know what you're thinking. Don't you dare."
Ink's grin grew.
Error knew exactly what was going on in their minds.
"Ink, don't- INK!"
Just like that, Ink was gone.
Dream swore-which was naturally censored by Fresh-and left to go after him, leaving the now female parasite to wonder if she could work VSCO girl language into her usual 90s lingo.
Error immediately closed his viewing portal and turned around. Just as he did so, a black puddle of paint appeared and Ink stepped out of it.
"Hey Error!" Ink chirped gleefully. He had almost managed to hide the impish look in his eye lights and smile, but not completely.
Error, however, couldn't find it in himself to be the slightest bit scared or nervous. He was too amused, so he played along.
"Wh47 d0 y0u w4n7, 5qu1d?"
Ink let the paint for on the end of his paintbrush. "I wanna try my new paint on you, since I know you had fun being a kid."
His tone was...really, really creepy. Like. Really creepy. The mischief coming back into his face wasn't helping.
But still, Error wanted to snicker. He continued to play along, even though he was unable to make his body glitch out like it should've. "L1k3 h3ll, 1 d1d!" He snarled. "1f y0u 70uch m3 w17h 7h47 9r055 p42n7 0f y0ur5, 1 5w34r-"
And just like that, Ink splashed Error with his new paint.
...
Needless to say, he was extremely confused when the only thing that changed was the look on Error's face. He doubled over laughing, clutching his sides as if they hurt. "0h my 90-0-0-d, 1nk," He laughed. "Y0u-y0u 4c7u4lly f3ll f0r 7ha7! H444h4h4h4h4h4h4h4h4h44!"
Dream appeared behind Ink, ready for the worst, but stopped dead when he saw what was going on. He glanced at Ink, who shrugged.
Error still had the paint on him, even as he fell over and continued cackling. He was far too amused, but he hadn't had a good laugh in a while. And the look on their faces was priceless.
"...Ink you broke him."
"To be fair he was already broke."
"That doesn't make it any better."
Ink's eye lights suddenly became two very large exclamation marks as he turned to Dream. "DO YOU REALIZE WHAT THIS MEANS?!" He asked, grabbing his friend. "I mean, besides that it isn't really a full gender bending thing!" It took the guardian of positivity a second to understand, but once he did his 'eyes' bugged out.
"ERROR YOU'RE A GIRL?!?!?"
Error wheezed at their reactions and could only nod helplessly.
"You realize that people have been misgendering you for literally your entire known existence?" Dream asked awkwardly.
Error, again, could only nod. She was trying to breathe, but every time she managed to take a breath she lost it again.
"...Do you not care?"
Error shook her skull. There were tears streaming down her face, both tears of joy and tears of pain as her laughing fit finally stopped.
Ink glanced at his brush. Another thought came to him. "Were-were you watching when Fresh-?"
"Y3-y3-y35," Error managed to get out. She still lay on the ground, not at all attempting to get up.
"And you knew I was going to-"
"0h f0r 7h3 l0v3 0f F473, 5qu1d, y0u 4r3 l173r4lly 7h3 m057 pr3d1c74bl3 p3r50n 1n 7h3 mul71v3r53. 0f c0ur53 1 kn3w!"
Ink's expression became offended. He went retort but, but Error sat up and pointed out how Ink had missed a few details on Error's lack of reaction when Ink had announced his intentions. "Y0u 5h0uld'v3 47 l3457 n071c3d 50m37h1n9 w45 0ff," she snickered. God, Ink was a moron.
Dream, meanwhile, was wondering if there was anything that might've tipped anyone off. But as far as he could tell, there had been absolutely nothing. No one would've been able to tell if Error was female. Maybe, if her voice wasn't so glitchy, someone would've made the connection, but otherwise? Error was just another, if extremely glitchy and unstable Sans.
"W-wait," he said slowly, "Does that mean your AU-before you were in the Anti-Void, I mean-was your AU a gender-bend AU?"
Error shrugged. "H3ll 1f 1 kn0w. Pr0b4bly, bu7 45 f4r 45 1 kn0w 7h3 4n71-V01d 5cr3w3d w17h my c0d3 3n0u9h 7h47 1 ch4n93d 70 4 91rl. N0 0n3 kn0w5 3n0u9h 4b0u7 17 70 54y 1f 7h47'5 3v3n p0551bl3."
Ink and Dream thought abut this. "I am never going to be able to see you the same way again," Ink muttered. "Me neither," Dream agreed.
Error stood. "Y34h, w3ll, 1 d0 4c7u4lly pr3f3r b31n9 7h0u9h7 0f 45 4 9uy," she said bluntly, "50 1f y0u c0uld k33p d01n9 7h47 7h47'd b3 9r347."
And just like that, Error was male again. This was weirder than the time Blue became taco buddies with Cross.
But...
Ink still had one more thing he wanted to do now.
"Okay," he said slowly, "But what if I-"
Error immediately jumped back and screeched, "1 5W34R 70 F473 1F Y0U 7RY 70 PU7 M3 1N 4 DR355 1 W1LL FUNK1N9 3ND Y0U-!"
"Who's gettin' put into a dress, sisters?"
Error almost jumped out of his skin, giving Ink the perfect opportunity.
"1NK!!! Y0U'R3 D34D!!!!!!!!!"
"INK WHY DO YOU DO THIS?!"
"BECAUSE ITS FUNNY!"
"Woah, brah. You look like a legend in that."
"44444RRRRRR99999HHHHHH!"
