(Adam's POV)

I ran down the hallway on the far left, keeping an eye out for any squids. I could feel my amulet banging against my chest, and every time it did so I got another strange memory: somebody telling me to seize the ship. I shook my head, getting it out of my mind. I was trying to STOP the squids from taking it.

Up above, the hall took a sharp right turn. I turned into it, and in front of me there was a large room. In that room, there was Ty.

He turned around the instant I appeared, his hands clenched into fists and raised into what was intimidating to say the least. When he saw that it was me, he let his hands fall. “Adam, what are you doing?!”

“I followed the hallway,” I said, confused.

Ty blinked, probably realizing something. “The two halls on the ends must meet up with each other. That means Seto and Quentin will be together.”

My eyes widened. “What if they start beating each other up?”

Ty shook his head. “We don't have time to worry about their personal issues. Right now, we need to find and save as many people as we can on this spaceship.” He glanced around the room before heading into another corridor on the far side of the room. I followed close behind, and we started checking the windows in the doors for any squids or people. We couldn't see anybody and slowed down a little bit.

“Is there even anybody down here?” Ty asked, more to himself than to me. I shook my head anyways.

“No, I don't think so,” I said, stopping in the middle of the hallway. My amulet was really heavy.

“Well, then let's go help Jason,” he said. I straightened up; I had been doubled over to catch my breath. The instant I did so, my amulet banged against my chest once again. I heard words in my head: We should attack soon.

“Ty,” I said nervously, “I think that there might be-”

“Might be what?” he asked, whipping around to face me. At that moment, I heard a door open from behind me. I turned and saw two squids in their special suits blocking the hall.

Ty shoved me aside and faked a punch at the robot's 'arm' before ramming his fist into the glass. He made a move to hit the same squid again but the other one grabbed his wrists and held his arms into the air. I heard more words; apparently this amulet had a squid-to-English-translator. Do we go back now?

No, if these two are here, we should wait for the others to find more.

So we just stay here until we get a signal?

Yep.

Thoughts raced in my head, each more stupid than the last. I could try cracking the glass and finishing the job for Ty, but he was a better fighter than me and had only gotten one hit off. Besides, that would still leave the second squid. Ty made eye contact with me; again, how he did it while I was wearing sunglasses and half of his face was covered with hair I didn't know. His hands, which were still held above his hands, clenched into fists. He looked at me and unclenched them, then looked at the metallic fingers wrapped around his wrists. He wanted me to break the squid's grip.

I shook my head. It was a robot for one thing, it wouldn't let go unless it had to. And if I tried to make any sudden moves, there was a good chance the first squid would grab me in the same way. Ty clenched his fists tightly, and I saw his gills flare. One of the squids noticed.

Hey, this is the same guy who escaped!

Huh. How'd he get those headphones?

I almost smirked at that; he had killed a squid and these two didn't even realize it. Off task, my mind wondered whether his gills were 'developed' by now-when we had first met, he had said that they didn't work but over time they would.

I saw Ty's foot twitch and realized what he wanted to do. He wanted to kick the squid as hard as he could, but in the position he was in, all that would do was bang his foot on metal. It wouldn't even touch the glass.

I bit my lip and desperately hoped that Jason, Seto or Quentin would come looking for us, and soon.
