2016 results rant

This is a political rant so beware. I'm an adulty adult now so I have to give a shit about this kinda thing *le sigh*

Onward...

I hate Donald Trump, that much is true. But it isn't even about how much I, and so many (though, apparently not as many people as I thought) other people hate him anymore.

I am terrified.

Not only am I terrified for myself as an agnostic disabled American, I am also afraid for my friends who are a different race, religion, LGBTQA+, disabled, female, and/or fall under a "social class" that isn't considered "wealthy." The man "the people" have chosen to elect as President has completely shit on minorities so many times, both in the past and before the election, and it honestly baffles me how anyone who isn't a straight, white Christian male could've voted for him. (Pardon the stereotype, I don't want to come off sounding like some crazy Tumblr feminazi, but deep down you know it's true. What are the one group of people that Trump HASN'T continuously attacked?)

Do I think Hillary would've been any better? Hell no. She probably would've been just as bad, if not worse, but for different reasons. Reasons I won't go into right now because this post is about the so called "President of the United States..."

...And his VP. (This part is longer because I've already covered why I hate Trump in a lot more posts than just this one)

How anyone could've supported Mike Pence as our VP is beyond me. This is the man who has viciously attacked the LGBTQA+ MANY times over the years. Of course, his most well known attack being the so called "Religious Freedom Restoration Act."

Now a lot of people like to say that this act is about "religious freedom," but it's not. All this act does is make it LEGAL to discriminate against the LGBTQA+ community in public for no good reason. Religious beliefs or not, it should not f—ing kill you to serve gay people in your restaurant or help a cute pair of lesbians find some perfect wedding dresses.

I'll probably get attacked for bringing up that act, but let me tell you this. Let's pretend for just a moment that the RERA attacked people of color instead of the LGBTQA+ community. Let's say the act made it legal for businesses to turn down services for people who are black, Latino/a, Asian, etc. You know what that sounds a LOT like?

The f—ing Jim Crow laws of the 1960s. I don't care what your so called "religious beliefs" are. Religion should NOT stop you from being a decent human being towards people, no matter the circumstances. And if it does, then maybe you need to reevaluate your beliefs. Marriage is not just about the union between a d*ck and a vagina. It is about LOVE. And if you can't see that, well...I honestly have no words for you.

Which brings me to another thing.

I did some searching on Indiana's beloved Michael Pence a few weeks ago, and you know what I found out?

Indiana's beloved Michael Richard Pence supports electroshock therapy (also known as "conversion therapy") to shock the gay out of people.

...Yup, you heard me right.

He supports a method of TORTURE to try shocking the "gay" out of people, despite the fact that you cannot pick and choose your sexual orientation. Do you really think that the LGBTQA+ WANT to be discriminated against and treated like shit for who they love? Why the hell would they WANT that? The argument that gay people choose to be gay is just stupid. (Note: this is different from all the bullshit "sexualities" that special snowflakes on Tumblr like to make up. I do not support that. There's no hope for those people)

But, yeah. Electroshock therapy was used as TORTURE in places like mental hospitals in the early 20th century. Pence supports literally torturing people just for being different. He is a sadistic bastard.

...

Congratulations on electing Hitler 2.0 and Brock Turner as President and VP, America. You really showed 'em.

...Though, at this point, I'm not quite sure which is which.
