This is my first attempt at
a Cow Chop x Reader oneshot
so I hope you all enjoy it!

It was a very uneventful day here at the Cow Chop warehouse, nothing needed to be recorded today so everyone was just busy editing whatever they needed to get done or doing other tasks.

Y/N despite having the amazing group of friends she had felt a little lonely in the romantic department and a tad bit depressed but she usually tried to hide it from them, not wanting to burden them with her problems.

"Damn dude it's fucking quiet in here." Aleksandr speaks up after he took his headphones off, finally finished with what he was working on previously.

"I know dude, it's been slowly fucking killing me over here." Y/N says, one headphone off of her ears as she looks over towards his and James's desks.

Joe and James had also switched to just one headphone over their ears, planning to join the conversation.

"Well, how about we go around the room shooting off stupid pick up lines between all of us, or whoever wants to anyway." Aleks suggests, looking at James and Joe as well.

"I'll join in, it sounds like fun and it'll help pass the time." Joe says, a smile present on his face.

"I'm game as well." Y/N says with a slight smirk.

"Okay so I'll start then and whoever wants to can just follow up after, sound good?" Aleks asks us.

Joe and Y/N nod in unison, signifying Aleks to go ahead with his first pick up line.

"Hey girl, I'm looking around for treasure, can I look around your chest?" Aleks says with a chuckle.

Y/N giggles a bit before she says "Is there a magnet in your pants? Because you've got buns of steel."

"Save a horse, ride a cowboy." Joe says next, tipping his hat as he does.

At the sound of that Y/N lost it and started laughing, a quiet snort escaping her body as she does, "Holy shit that was great."

"You look ill. You must be suffering form a lack of Vitamin ME." Aleks adds next as the three of them continue to work as they shoot off pick up lines, James listening in as they do.

"Do you have a map? Because I just keep getting lost in your eyes." The girl says, her eyes slightly flickering towards James.

"Tonight this Han doesn't want to fly Solo." Joe says.

"Are you Harambe's enclosure? Cause i'll drop a kid inside of you." Aleks says with a slight chuckle.

"Does anyone want to take me out; Either on a date or with a sniper rifle?" The girl says, going a bit darker and slightly hoping someone notices.

"You've got to stop doing that." James finally pipes in from his desk, shaking his head at her slightly as he walks towards Y/N's desk.

"Doing what?" The girl questions, slightly confused as Aleks and Joe observe James approaching her.

Once James had made it to her desk he leans down and whispers in her ear so only she can hear, "Saying things that make me want to kiss you."

"Y-You want to kiss me?" Y/N stutters out a bit louder than she planned because James caught her off gaurd, her cheeks fire engine red at the older man's words because she's had a huge crush on him for quite awhile.

"Yes. So, how about I take you out on a date sometime." James inquires, a smirk pulling at his features as he leans against her desk, not caring if the guys heard their conversation.

"O-Oh wow, you want to take me on a date?" Y/N questions James, not sure if he's messing with her or not.

"Indeed I do. So is that a yes?" James asks.

"Yes, it is a yes." She says with a smile on her face.

"Good, how does later tonight sound?" He offers.

"That sounds lovely." Y/N says, a blush still present on her cheeks.

When Aleks hears that he wolf whistles and Joe cheers for them, the two finally agreeing to go on a date after sharing the same feelings for each other for quite some time.

Finally everyone decided to pack up and start their journeys towards their own homes. The only three remaining in the warehouse were Y/N, James and Aleks who were all working on different things they wanted to finish before heading home.

Y/N finished what she was working on and for the first time in half an hour she looked up from her screen, noticing it was just James and her in the warehouse now.

She gets up out of her chair and stretches before walking over to the fridge and grabbing a bottle of water, opening it and taking a sip of it, lost in her thoughts about what will happen on their date tonight.

James notices she's made her way into the kitchen and isn't paying attention so he took this moment to quietly get out of his chair and sneak over behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist which causes her to jump and look behind her.

"Jesus, James, you scared the shit out of me." She says, a soft smile making it's way onto her face.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." James says with a quiet chuckle.

"It's alright, just don't sneak up on me like that again." Y/N says as she turns around in his arms, looking into his chocolatey brown eyes.

"How can I make it up to you?" He asks her.

"Hmm, well... do you still want to kiss me?" She questions, a sly smile gracing her features.

"I always want to kiss you." James replies.

"Then kiss me, and then we can go on our date." Y/N says as she wraps her arms around his neck.

James doesn't waste any time before closing his eyes and placing his lips against Y/N's, holding her close to him as they deepen the kiss.

When they pull away to catch their breath James find himself entranced in her E/C eyes as his forehead rests against hers.

"So where are you taking me for our date?" The girl questions as she looks into his eyes.

"Well, since you haven't been to the Santa Monica Pier yet since we've been living in LA, I figured I'd take you there and we can eat something from one of the food places there and ride some rides." James replies, hoping she'll love the idea as much as he does.

A huge smile graces her features, "I'd love that James."

"Then let's pack up and lock up the warehouse before heading on our way to the pier." James says with a smile on his face before the two reluctantly pull apart from each other.

The car ride to the pier only took around thirty minutes once they locked up and Y/N was beyond excited. She'd always wanted to go to the pier and ride the rollercoaster and ferris wheel but she knew that she'd have to ride them alone because of James's fear of heights and rollercoasters.

James knew how much she'd always wanted to go to the Santa Monica Pier, even before they moved here from Colorado she'd talked about it.

And he also knew how much she loved rollercoasters and ferris wheels, so he decided he'd muster up all the courage he could for her to ride each ride at least once with her tonight, knowing that she won't want to ride alone.

So James parked the car and the two start making their way down the pier, Y/N admiring the ocean as they walked, heading for the ticket booth where James buys them both an unlimited ride wristband so that they could ride anything they want as many times as they wanted without constantly buying tickets.

After waiting in the ticket line and buying the tickets James helps put the wristband onto Y/N's wrist before she does the same with his.

"So where to first? Food or rides?" James asks her as they walk around the pier before he notices another guy eyeing Y/N which causes James to possessively take her hand into his own.

Y/N blushed and laced her fingers with his, "Food, definitely food I am starving."

"Let me guess, pizza?" James asks with a chuckle.

"You know me so well." She says with a giggle as James leads her towards Pacific Wheel Pizza Company.

Once they arrive at the windows to order James gets them six pieces of pepperoni pizza and four breadsticks along with their drinks before they find a table as near to the ocean view as possible.

The two sit in comfortable silence, still keeping one hand laced with the other's as they eat with the other hand, enjoying their pizza and breadsticks.

James keeps finding himself just looking at her, admiring her beauty; while she stared at the ocean, admiring the scenery and how the lights from the rides were starting to reflect off the water as it got darker.

"It's breathtaking how beautiful the lights look reflecting off the water." Y/N finally says without taking her eyes off the water.

James smiles before saying, "You know, I haven't really noticed. I've been too distracted by something far more beautiful."

This causes her to turn her head towards him and that's when she notices him staring at her.

Y/N's cheeks heat up as she says, "And what's th-that?"

"Let me show you." James says before unlocking his phone and opening the pictures application, tapping on the most recent photo before handing his phone to her.

When she looks at the photo she notices that it's a candid picture of her, mesmerized by the lights dancing on the ocean in the background behind her, a huge smile on her face as the two still have one hand laced together.

Y/N's cheeks turn an even darker shade of red, "Wow, James, this photo is amazing."

"And it's now my new wallpaper." James says with a proud smile on his face after changing it before nervously blurting out, "Will you be my girlfriend Y/N?"

Her heartbeat picks up as she's caught off guard by his question, "Of course I'll be your girlfriend James."

At her words a huge smile snakes it's way onto his face before he leans across the table, placing a gentle kiss against her lips.

After the kiss ends James asks her, "Now that we're finished eating how about we ride some rides?"

"That sounds perfect to me." Y/N replies before they toss their trash in the trash can, before James leads her towards the rides.
