"SHIT!"

Jimin woke up to their smoke detector going off.

"HYUNG-AH!" "WHAT THE FUCK -"

There was a lot of yelling, and Jimin shot out of bed to figure out what was happening. They scrambled for their doorknob, and slipped (literally) into the hallway.

"TAEHYUNG, PUT IT OUT!" "I'M TRYING!"

Jimin and Yoongi collided, sending Jimin into the wall. "I'm sorry!" Yoongi reached to help Jimin up, but they were focused on getting to the kitchen.

"WOAH!"

There was smoke everywhere. Namjoon came running, covering his mouth with his shirt.

Jimin started coughing, so they also covered their mouth. Yoongi went into the kitchen, where the smoke was so dark they couldn't see him perfectly.

The smoke detector continued blaring, waking up Jungkook.

"What fire is it?!" Yoongi asked Taehyung, while everyone was struggling to see through the smoke. "I don't know!" Jin was busy pulling Taehyung away from the small but dangerous fire. Yoongi noticed a glass lid on the counter, so he grabbed it and slammed it on top of the pot, which almost immediately suffocated it.

Hoseok had opened a window and was attempting to get most of the smoke out.

"What the fuck happened?!" Namjoon asked, as the smoke began to clear as it went outside. By the time they could all properly see each other, Hoseok and Namjoon noticed that Taehyung was crying into Jin's chest, and Yoongi had went to open another window, next to the one that had just been open. "Why is it going off?" Jungkook asked as he entered, covering his ears. The kitchen was hot, and it looked foggy. "It was a small fire." Hoseok explained, while him and Yoongi concentrated on getting the smoke out of the dorm. Jungkook eyed Taehyung, and he was covering his red face and crying; not too hard. "Okay, hyung: what happened?" Namjoon asked again. "The burner must have been at high- I thought it was on low, so I added the oil, and it just...blew up." Jin took the blame because Taehyung couldn't at the time. Plus: the only ones who knew that Taehyung had started it, were Taehyung and Jin. "Hyung..." Yoongi sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I'm sorry, it was an accident. I didn't mean to wake everyone up in a panic, I was just trying to do something nice." Jin explained, while Taehyung began wiping his face as he started to calm down.

"You know better than -" "Don't scold me, I said it was an accident." Jin sharply interrupted Namjoon. The leader just sighed and looked away. "We all make mistakes, I'm sorry -" "Yeah, but we could've gotten hurt." Hoseok cut him off. He didn't feel like he had a place to say that, and the more they argued, the more weight Taehyung felt, and he just wanted to lay on the floor. "You don't think I know that?" Jin said back, getting more stern. "Taehyung was going to get burned, I had to handle him first. If it were you, would you prefer me to put it out to protect the sleek wooden cabinets or protect you from first degree burns?" He continued, looking hard at Hoseok and Namjoon. There was no response. "Are you okay, Taehyung-ah?" Jin asked the younger one, as he let go of his arms from around his shoulders. Taehyung didn't want to answer, but he let himself nod, even though he really wasn't- mentally, anyway.

Namjoon left to turn off the smoke detector, and within a minute, the blaring stilled.

"I'm just glad everyone's okay." Jimin said in relief, before turning to the stove. Yoongi turned the burner completely off, and moved the pot away from the previous burner. "Me too, I was ready to grab whoever I saw and run." Jungkook agreed. "Yeah, the good thing is that everyone's okay." Yoongi seconded. "I think the other dishes are alright, if you're hungry now." Jin announced, fixing his shirt to assess the other dishes that were near the stove. "I probably won't be eating breakfast. Thank you, though." Yoongi was the only one of the three to say something; Namjoon and Hoseok left without saying another word. "How come?" Jin asked. A small part of him was disappointed. "My head is spinning, and I don't know why. The thought of food is...not good at the moment." Yoongi explained. It was a rough morning for everyone.

The adrenaline had made him sick.

"Okay..." Jin held in his emotion. Then, his phone began to ring. As he looked at the caller, it was their new manager.

"Seokjin-ah, are you guys okay?!" He sounded panicked. "Yes, it was an accident. Everyone's okay." Jin didn't know his manager would know if the smoke detector went off, but he supposed it wasn't impossible. "We were just about to send -" "No, it was my fault, I'm sorry." Jin explained more. "Thank goodness you all are okay." His manager went on to say.

Then, Jin noticed Hoseok and Jimin grabbing their shoes from the main entrance. "Hey, where are you going?" Jin asked in a slightly louder voice so he could be heard. "To work?" Hoseok told him. And just then, Jin felt a little piece of his heart break off. "You just woke up, you aren't going to -" "We'll see you there?" Jimin half-asked as they finished tying their shoes. Jin didn't respond. He turned back to the kitchen and finished up the call with their manager.

Namjoon knocked on Jungkook and Taehyung's door. "Can I have the thing back now?" He asked, not wanting the youngest one to forget. "Yeah; I didn't use any, actually." Jungkook scrambled through his clothes and handed the bottle of lube back to Namjoon. "If you need anything -" "No," Jungkook interrupted. "I'm... okay. We should get going to work." He finished, while not making eye contact. Namjoon left, awkwardly, and gathered his things. He was set on finishing some lyrics for their next album.

As Jungkook, Taehyung and Namjoon went downstairs to catch Hoseok and Jimin, Jungkook noticed Jin in the kitchen. "One second," He told Namjoon while the two went outside. Jin had his hands on the counter, leaning on it, and looked like he was thinking hard. "Hyung, are you okay?" The youngest asked, walking over. "Sure, Kook-ah. Are you leaving soon?" Jin asked, looking over at Jungkook. "I just wanted to check in, because this morning was rough, and I'm sorry it all happened." He tried to pry some emotion out of Jin. "It's okay, it's fine. It's my fault." Jin leaned up, moving his hands from the counter to his sides. Jungkook took his left hand, and made him face his direction. "It happens. It's not all your fault." Jungkook told him. Jin didn't seem convinced, so Jungkook cupped his hands on Jin's face, and saw his eyes were hiding a lot of emotion. He wasn't sure if Jin wanted to talk, so Jungkook kissed him, to find if he would communicate in other ways. He kissed him slow, and it was just a little special because Jungkook was younger, but the roles seemed to be reversed, with Jin a little more vulnerable in that moment.

Jin pulled away first, and once they made eye contact, he grumbled. "Thanks. I needed... that. I'm okay, now, let's go." He explained a little, and it brought a smile to Jungkook, knowing he had helped. Jungkook offered for the two to hold hands and they made their way out to the van. Hoseok and Jimin had already left.

In the van, the other five members left at once, Jin being the driver. Once they arrived, they went their seperate ways, working individually.

After working for seven hours, Jungkook and Taehyung went back to the dorm. Jin, Hoseok, and Jimin followed, thirty minutes later, leaving Namjoon and Yoongi to work nine hours. They enjoyed it, however, and everyone was in a state of content. Jin was disappointed that no one ate what he prepared in the morning until he passed Jungkook's room and saw him with a plate. He wondered why Jungkook was eating alone, but the boy was on his phone at his desk with an open laptop, so it was a possibility that he might be working on drawing or another one of his hobbies. Even if it was only one member, Jin felt a little better. After all, he started a fire over that food and set off the smoke detector for it. He wanted to ask Jungkook if he liked it, but he also had a feeling that the younger one was enjoying it.

Namjoon was already asleep by the time Jin entered their room, so he didn't waste any more time cuddling under his sheets that doubled as a bunker from the cold air. December was creeping up, and Jin knew he might need to go shopping for snowing boots before any snow decided to arrive. Another day, it would have to be.
