Soojun drove the van, and it was quiet for a while. Occasionally Jimin would shift uncomfortably, but nothing more.
“We're here.” Soojun announced once they returned to the dorm. It was getting dark outside. Taehyung waited for Jimin to get out first, with the help of Yoongi and Hoseok again. Jin and Jungkook met everyone in the kitchen, gathering ingredients to cook a warm meal. Hoseok sat with Jimin in the living room, only turning on a nearby lamp, keeping the area dim. Taehyung cuddled himself on the couch opposite of Hoseok and Jimin. “Hey…” Namjoon said as he entered, and sat next to Taehyung. Jimin looked at him, but didn't respond. There were tears camping in their brown eyes.
Jungkook entered the living room meekly. “What do you guys want to drink with dinner?” He asked. Only Namjoon and Hoseok responded. Jungkook could feel the pressure, and he was about to cave in. He was getting so confused that he felt lightheaded. He left to return to the kitchen, and came back with their drinks since dinner was almost ready to serve. Jungkook brought everyone else water.
“I don't feel like eating.” Jimin denied the plate a few minutes later. Jin placed it back in the kitchen, knowing they would eat later. For a while, they ate in an uncomfortable, heavy, deadly silence. They kept to themselves, so much so that no one offered to help when Hoseok choked a bit on the food.
Jungkook didn't eat much, but he was hungry from the long day full of emotion.
“We haven't even talked about it.” Yoongi suddenly, finally spoke up. Everyone turned towards him. Taehyung forgot what voices had sounded like for a moment, and was surprised. No one said anything in response, and Yoongi sighed. “I'm trying to have a conversation, because I know I'm not the only one who can't deal with this anymore. Taehyung-ssi had an attack earlier, dammit.” He loudly placed his utensils down, making the other six look back up. “It's not that big of a deal.” Taehyung dismissed it. “What would you like to talk about, Yoongi-ya?” Jin asked, sarcastically. “Um, the fucking elephant in the room? Firstly, we haven't even been able to properly express our feelings of breaking up, then Jimin-ssi had a medical emergency and they're sitting by themself, completely alone.” Yoongi responded quickly. “Then why don't you go fix that?” Jin told him. No one moved for a minute.
Then, Yoongi stood up, and slammed his plate of food on the ground, shattering the glass and the food getting in the brown carpet. “Yoongi hyung!” Namjoon shouted. Jungkook hadn't realized it until he opened his eyes, but he had his arms around Taehyung. He was closest to Yoongi, therefore at more risk of getting hurt. He locked eyes with Taehyung, but neither of them moved away.
“I have nowhere else to go.” Yoongi said, staring down at the broken plate of food on the floor. His voice wavered unsteady. “You all have families who will gladly welcome you back into their arms, who will hold y-you when you're upset. They'll tell you it's okay. I don't have anywhere else to go if this fails.” He announced, hands bawling into fists in his shirt because he didn't want to cry, but it just might happen. His heart was racing in his chest again. “They won't accept me back. I'll have no one. This can't not work for me. It has to work out.” Yoongi told them, finally looking up to Namjoon. “Even if it's just you and I as a duo, or just a few of us- please, this has to work for me, this band has to work out. I'm not going to quit just because you guys think we can't work without being in a relationship. For the first few years, we worked fine together. Sure we had fights but that's normal.” Yoongi's hands relaxed on his sides. “Please, can we please just talk it out? I don't know what I would do if we weren't a band anymore. Music was my first love and you guys were the second - dammit,” Yoongi hid his eyes in his hands, because he felt tears rolling down his pale cheeks.
Jin felt himself standing.
Namjoon too.
Yoongi thought they were coming to hold him, but that wasn't what he wanted. He stepped back away from the two and wiped his eyes again. “I don't want your sympathy, I just want to talk all of this out.” He shook his head. “Okay,” Namjoon nodded softly. “Then let's sit, and talk.” He made room for Yoongi to sit next to him on a nearby chair. Yoongi shook his head. “It's so uncomfortable,” He rubbed his upper arms as if he were cold. “I don't want to sit next to any of you. We're all at fault and I'm equally as upset with all of you, and myself a little too. I should've tried to say something earlier, I could've tried. But I can't be the only one trying here, it won't work.” He explained.
“The relationship breaking off was my fault anyway, why are you mad at them?” Jimin suddenly asked. “Because they didn't try to work anything out. Did you all forget about Jungkook's injury? He was hitting his head against a solid wall!” Yoongi cried, motioning to the youngest. “And none of us did anything about it afterwards!” His words were getting caught in his throat. He took a deep breath. “We were there in the moment, but what about after? You're all not paying attention, and when Jimin comes back from having an emergency procedure, no one is saying a damn word.” He added. “That's because they were pregnant when we all thought it couldn't happen.” Jin blurted out. “So we apologize for being a little shocked.” Taehyung added. “A little?” Jimin scoffed. “If you all used protection, it would never have happened anyway.” Yoongi said, straight-up. “You wouldn't even have to worry about anything at all. I think you're all too caught up in sex to think about it for a minute, to think of the aftermath and the consequences, whether good or bad.” He continued. His eyes began to dry, and the tears stopped.
“We were just trying to relieve stress, we didn't know it would happen.” Jungkook tried to speak. “There wouldn't be this much stress if we just talked it out from the beginning…” Hoseok finally said something. “You wanted to join in.” Taehyung bounced back. “Hey, don't start arguing.” Yoongi cut in. “We're talking it out, not arguing.” Namjoon reminded. The three quieted down.
“Firstly, I didn't want to break up. I want to continue our relationship. We never got to discuss it before a decision was made - I'm not blaming you, Namjoon-ah, I know you did it because you didn't want it to escalate any further. But that's how I feel about that whole thing.” Yoongi began to speak, still lightly holding his arms. “Should I have said something different?” Namjoon asked, starting to stress. “Even though it hurt,” Jungkook mumbled, and everyone turned to him. “I don't think you should've said anything different. It would've hurt more if manager-nim fired us.” He explained. “I think the same.” Hoseok agreed. Jimin still didn't move any closer to him like they normally would. So, Hoseok created a little more space, not wanting to make them any more uncomfortable. “I want to continue our relationship too. We will be extra careful.” He added on. Yoongi then made his way over and sat next to Hoseok. His legs were tired, and the rest of him too, after doing nothing for hours.
“I don't think you should -” “Jin hyung, you have no room to talk, again.” Jimin suddenly said, cutting off Jin that was sitting across from them on the floor. “Jimin, let him talk.” Taehyung told them. “I wasn't going to say anything anyway.” Jin said quietly and looked down at his lap. “No hyung, go ahead. What were you going to say?” Namjoon asked. “It's not worth it, if they won't let me speak.” Jin motioned up to Jimin. “Well now you've made it so I have to -” “Jimin-ah,” Yoongi argued, cutting off Jimin. “Please, for the sake of the conversation. Please, just hear us out.” He looked over. Jimin huffed and looked away into another room.
“I was going to say that I don't think you should hold hands much or kiss outside of the dorm, just to be on the safe side.” Jin finished. “Yeah, we will be really careful.” Hoseok agreed, and nodded towards the eldest so he felt like he was being heard. “Do any of you not want to rejoin?” Namjoon asked, looking to everyone. Jimin remained silent. “Jimin?” He asked.
Jimin looked over without moving their head. They didn't say a word. “I'll take that as a no, Jiminie.” Namjoon told them. “No, I do want to rejoin.” Jimin finally spoke. “Why did you hesitate?” Yoongi asked. Jimin readjusted on the couch, moving a little bit away from Hoseok. They didn't answer then.
“So, now we talk about the other elephant in the room. Jeongguk…” Hoseok looked over softly. Jungkook let go of Taehyung and created space between them. Hoseok had his right arm resting on his right knee and he was sitting against the television stand, with his left leg out. He knew he didn't have to give him The Talk, but maybe there was something Jungkook didn't know.
“It's not his fault. It wasn't even possible to our knowledge.” Jimin told Hoseok, but not turning towards the others. “He could've pulled out.” Taehyung sided. “You talk like you two didn't do the same just a couple of days ago.” Jungkook defended himself. He knew it was his fault, and this was what he was scared of. “Wait, you guys did too?” Jin asked quickly. “So, how did you know it was Jungkook?” Yoongi asked Taehyung. “When Jeongguk and I fucked before I found out I was little, he finished inside me for the first time. Then before the emergency visit, before I slept for three days, the four of us were intimate together.” Jimin explained, shyly. “Right after we broke up?” Yoongi asked. He was quick to speak again. “How could you do that?” He asked.
“We made mistakes, we know.” Taehyung said. He was obviously guilty, frowning and looking down. “We were all upset, and weren't thinking. I'm sorry.” Taehyung apologized. He brought his knees up to his chest and started pulling on his hair. “It's also my fault for saying yes, I should've said no. It was a shitty decision.” Jimin told them. “Wait, did you all not use protection?” Jin asked quickly. It was quiet. “Guys, that's dangerous.” Namjoon said, even though he assumed that they knew already. “We know; like we said, we weren't thinking.” Hoseok explained. It was quiet again.
Jin began eating, again, and the others meekly followed. After a while, Jimin moved so their body was facing Hoseok and Yoongi. They moved to get up, struggling to get up at first because their abdomen was cramping horribly and were still in pain. “What do you need? I'll get it.” Hoseok stood and offered. He grabbed onto Jimin's hands so they were stable. “I'll get it.” Jimin shook their head. “No, let me.” Hoseok denied. “I'm just a little hungry. I'll come with you.” Jimin held on to Hoseok's hand, and together they left the living room.
“Which do you want?” Hoseok asked once Jimin was able to hold on to a nearby counter. “Whichever is easier. You don't have to help.” Jimin told him, leaning over a bit. “Jimin-ah, I've got it. Let's go back.” Hoseok said back, grabbing Jimin's arm with a plate of food in his right hand. Jimin huffed and followed, not able to argue much.
Once Jimin and Hoseok sat down, and Jimin was able to get a couple bites of food in, Namjoon asked: “Jimin, what do you feel?” And they weren't sure how to respond. It was mostly guilt and regret, but they couldn't say that outloud- it would be wrong, right?
“I think we should just get over it. At least, I should.” They finally said. “But it's your health, it's very important to recognize.” Namjoon proposed. “I know. But the problem is also in my body, so I've decided to just say ‘whatever’ and never do anything like that again. Every time I think about it, I get physically ill in my stomach, and that makes it worse.” Jimin explained. “It's like where I was months ago: incredibly dysphoric and I'm at the point where I just want to… jump off of a fucking cliff.” They finished, staring at their food. “Me too.” Yoongi agreed, but it wasn't completely honest. The two smiled, not quite laughing but not completely serious either.
This time, the silence was welcomed. Jungkook no longer felt like he was going to burst into tears at any signs of yelling, or quick movement. They relaxed for a while, finishing their food in states of contentment. It was better now that they had talked everything out. Everything. They were all finally on the same page of their stories, having each other casted as the main character in them, even. Even if they had to hide their love, it was worth it, because they all understood each other better now.
Eventually, everything was going to be alright.
