Three: Dominic McSaint

My morning was nothing great. I had waken up two hours ago, and still haven't left the bed. I wasn't sure if I was tired, or just didn't want to deal with all this spy stuff.

I figured that the more I think about what Agent Burke was going to say to me, the more upset I'd end up feeling.

I sighed, throwing the covers off of me and beginning to stretch. I winced, sharply turning my head to look at the large cut on my pinky toe. That's when I remembered my little episode last night- and Noah walking into my room with nothing but a towel on.

My cheeks turned a little red as I recalled the events of last night. I'll admit that he was hot, but Noah certainly wasn't tolerable. All he ever did was make me want to punch him!

Two large knocks shook the door. I sat myself up, startled by the loud noise.

"Who's there?" I asked, sort of already having a clue on who it could be.

"Get up." His familiar, unnecessary voice demanded. I rolled my eyes, the urge to put him in his place increasing.

"You realize you could ask nicely, right?" I yelled, expecting a response. All I got was the sound of heavy footsteps walking away.

"Or not." I muttered to myself, finally standing up and making my way over to the dresser that had been stocked with clothes for me.

I rummaged through the drawers, settling on a nice pair of black jeans, and a tight, army green, long sleeved tee shirt. It wasn't anything special, but then again, did it really have to be?

I glanced at myself in the mirror. My face looked a little plain, for I didn't have my usual makeup collection, but once again, did I really need it?

It's not like I really had to get anyone's attention. The only semi-decent guy here is Noah, and well, he's Noah. I doubt he'd be looking in my direction anytime soon- unless I was being dangled over a cliff by his worst enemy.

"Ready." I sang, mockingly. Noah looked up from his newspaper, his normal glare resting on his face. I expected him to make some un-needed comment, but he didn't. He just returned to reading the paper.

"Don't we have to go?" I asked, looking around the suite with my eyes. I looked awkward, but awkward was what it was.

He shook his head 'yes', but still didn't move his position. I stood there for another minute, until I decided that we'd be here for a little while.

Shrugging my shoulders, I grabbed a banana sitting on the counter, and sat down across the table from him. As soon as my butt touched the chair, his shot up.

"Let's go. We're late." He threw the paper down on the table, and stormed out of the suite. I sat there, physically biting my tongue. Of course he would get up the moment I decided to sit down. It's just the Noah way.

I threw the banana on top of the paper, and followed him at hurried pace. He was purposely walking fast, probably so I wouldn't be able to catch up with him- but that doesn't mean I won't.

I mirrored him. When he'd walk faster, I'd walk faster. When he turned the corner, I'd turn the corner. When he dodged a person, I'd dodge a person. When he walked slower- Well, I'd walk faster.

In the distance, I saw Agent Burke standing by his office with a few other people. I hadn't lost Noah, and I felt very accomplished. That stupid jerk thought he was too good for me, but guess what? He's not.

I spoke too soon, though. Because right as we were about to reach Burke, I slipped on something wet, and spun around until I was lying face down on the cold, marbled floor.

I could hear the laughter of the people around me- especially Noah. I wanted to slap that smile right off of his dumb face, but I'm pretty sure he'd beat me up if I tried.

"Are you alright?" I picked my head up just enough to see a hand extend towards me. I accepted it, and my body was lifted up. I dusted the specks of dirt off my clothing, and looked up into his beautiful hazel eyes.

He smiled warmly at me, causing my heart to flutter a bit. At this moment, I took back two things. Not wearing makeup, and declaring Noah Krane the best looking guy around here.

"No, no- I mean, yes, I'm alright." I laughed like an idiot, immediately wishing I hadn't. He was handsome, and didn't hate me- but I'm pretty sure I just made a fool of myself. I'm obviously not the best when it comes to talking to hot guys that make my heart beat faster.

"Unbelievable." Noah snapped, rolling his eyes behind the beautiful stranger before me.

The one who helped me up sighed, "Can it, Krane." He backfired, "Don't make me bring up your very first day of training."

I noticed Noah's jaw clench- and the fact that the stranger's voice sounded oddly familiar. I feel like I've heard it before... but where?

"Do we know each other-" i froze once I realized how that sounded like a cheesy pick up line, "I just feel like I've heard your voice before."

He chuckled, shaking his head, "Allow me to formally introduce myself- I'm Dominic McSaint, aka the one who was forced to sit outside your door all night."

My face lit up. I knew I recognized his voice. He was the one I actually connected with. I felt so relived to know that I wouldn't be completely on my own here. For some reason, I knew I could rely on Dominic. There was just something about him.

I opened my mouth to say something, but before I got the chance, someone I did know cut me off.

"Ah, Ms. Slater." Agent Burke began, "Please tell me you slept alright."

I nodded, "I slept wonderfully, thank you."

He smiled, "And I noticed that you've met Dom." I nodded in response, once again. "He's a very skilled agent here- and, he's quite the lady talker."

Burke flashed a wink into Dominic's direction. I kept my smile on my lips, glancing at Don who stared at the floor with a 'I wish he didn't say that' look.

I felt a little disappointed. It wasn't what I was expecting, honestly- but I haven't been able to predict a lot of things correctly, here.

"Why don't you, Agent Krane, and I step into my office. I have a few things I'd like to discuss with you." I nodded hesitantly, accepting the hand he held out for me, and allowing him to lead me inside.

I turned my head around to look at Dom, who briefly waved goodbye- a semi-sad smile on his face.

Call me crazy, but I'm starting to think that what Dom said last night was right. Maybe there is something going on between all three.
