"WAIT, WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS?" Aiden asked.

Jessica replied, "No, I'm Jessica."

Despite the situation, Aiden rolled his eyes, "I mean, do you honestly like me?"

"Ew no, of course I don't." Jessica said.

Aiden let out a sigh of relief, "Good, I almost had a heat attack. Phew, geez, I'm sweating so hard. You know what, we'll continue the lesson later."

"Got it," Jessica chuckled, "Wow Aiden, you really panicked. You must really hate me."

"You know it's not like that," Aiden said, "I was scared that our friendship would be ruined, because you're like a sister to me —"

"Oh my gosh, Aiden. Don't get all sentimental on me now," Jessica said.

Aiden laughed, "Alright, we better get going."

A few days later, in the following week, Aiden and Jessica were charming and flying paper airplanes, when the door opened. Jessica knew it was Remus, as it was the Defence Against the Dark Arts class. She flinched as the door banged, and immediately looked towards the door.

Remus would never bang doors.

The person standing in front of the door, with his black cloak bellowing behind him, was Severus Snape. Not Remus Lupin.

And that's when the thought struck Jessica Black. Tonight was a full moon. She mentally banged her head on the wall, and cursed herself for not remembering.

Her thoughts darted towards the day when she asked Remus who would cover for him. He hadn't looked her in the eyes. He knew that this dungeon bat would be teaching. He knew of her enmity with the Professor, but he didn't tell her. Why?

Snape sneered at her as he entered the room. Jessica's friends threw her a look, mouthing to ask where Remus was, she just kept her eyes down, and shrugged in response.

"Where's Professor Lupin?" Angelina Johnson, who was sitting next to Fred, who looked equally surprised asked.

"Your professor doesn't find himself capable of teaching at the present moment." A mocking sneer found it's way to his lips, "I'll be covering for him today, and who knows, maybe even longer.

All the Slytherins in the room cheered, as Snape quietened them and took hold of the nearest Defence Against the Dark Arts textbook near him.

"What is this rubbish?" Snape tutted, "Third years know this! Boggarts, really? Ghouls?" Snape threw the book back onto the desk, and took his wand out.

He started talking about animagi and werewolf. Jessica grind her teeth. The moment Snape started to talk against werewolf, and that he thought they were monsters, Jessica leaped up.

"I have a question, Professor." Jessica said, mockingly, "Why are werewolves referred to as monsters, when sometimes, specific wizards are worse?" It was obvious, that Jessica was referring the word, "wizards" to only one wizard (though in her mind she included Pettigrew too) Severus Snape.

"You're right, Black. Some wizards should be labelled at monsters too. Especially those who kill their decade long best friends, and many muggles without turning a single hair."

"Don't you dare say a word against him, when you bully children for curing boredom! It's obvious really, why you chose the profession of a teacher above all others, because you like to dominate power against those who you can —" Jessica yelled.

"And that isn't at all what your dearest father did when he was at school." Snape said sarcastically.

"Don't try to feed me lies, taking advantage of the fact that I wasn't there when it all happened, Snivellus."

The word slipped out of Jessica's mouth. She said it without thinking. She said it without knowing the consequences. She said it without knowing the effect it would have on Severus Snape, after all those years.

"Detention for the rest of the year, and hundred points off of Gryffindor." Snape hissed.

"You're just jealous of the Marauders!" Jessica shouted, unable to restrain herself. She knew she should have shut up, but she wouldn't be a Black of she did.

Snape stopped dead in his tracks, and menacingly and slowly turned back towards the girl, who now realised her mistake.

"Who told you about the Marauders?"

"It's none of your business —"

"Was it Lupin?" Snape asked quietly. "or was it . . . I knew it. You're contacting Black aren't you?"

Jessica's lips were as dry as a dessert . She ran her tongue over them, but it did little to help it. She had made a mistake.

"I knew it. And I'm sure Lupin is with you too." Snapeclaimed.

"You don't know what you're talking about!" Jessica shouted, she didn't want Remus to be pulled along too.

Snape completely ignored her and stormed out of the classroom, and Jessica hurriedly followed him. She didn't know what he was going to do, but since it was Snape, she couldn't expect for something good.

She saw as Snape sharply turned from one end to another lane in the school, his black cloak blowing behind him. After about a minute of following him, she realised where he was going. Dumbledore's Office

Jessica didn't want Remus to be in trouble, nor did she want her father to be caught and his hard-work of escaping Azkaban being wasted all because of her and her foolish choice of words in front of Snape. Snape abruptly came to a stop.

"Buttercups." Snape growled and the gargoyle sprang to life, Jessica knew if she tried to sneak up there, she would get caught, so she went back, roght? Wrong.

This is Jessica Black we're talking about here. Of course she didn't leave. Instead she made a run for it and suddenly leapt into Dumbledore's office before Snape could process what was happening. She was out of breath as she turned to watch Snape's angry face and Dumbledore's concerned face — with an amused twinkle in his eye.

"Now now, Jessica, Severus." He nodded at the two, the twinkle in his eye, not yet leaving, "To what do I owe the pleasure? I heard a hundred points for taken off of Gryffindor a few moments ago, is this matter related?"

"Yes, Headmaster. Miss Black was so bold to call me names in the class, insult me, and argue far more than any student has — I'm sure not even thought about let alone dared to do." He said.

"I see, well the Blacks have always had a knack for doing unique things, after all, Severus," Dumbledore turned to Jessica, "Jessica, what do you have to say for this? Do you have any reason to justify your actions.

Snape scoffed in a manner, that asked if any reason could be enough to justify her actions.

"Snape brought —" Jessica began angrily, casting a quick dirty look at Snape only to be interrupted by Dumbledore.

"Professor Snape, Jessica." Dumbledore corrected. No matter how grave Dumbledore sounded, you could tell, by the bright twinkle in his eye, that he was, very amused with the whole situation.

"Yes." Jessica said, clearly irritated "He brings up Pad — Sirius Black in conversations for no reason. And moreover, he calls him stupid names. He says that I shouldn't had called him names, when he did so himself to Sirius, and I think thats unfair," Jessica cut down her rant to cast another dirty look at Snape and added, jeering, "He also had the nerve to set up the lesson for today, about werewolves, and also called them monsters, knowing my relation with Remus, in front of the whole class. Hell, Remus is far from being a monster, the real monster is he himself —

"I think that's enough, Jessica." Dumbledore nodded, cutting the little girl's rant short and looked at Snape, "What is your side of the story, Severus?"

Severus cleared his throat — Jessica rolled her eyes at that, he's gonna go banging and slamming doors in front of his sixth year students, but in front of the headmaster, he was like a little well-mannered angel — and said, "As far as bringing her father up, I don't do it often, besides you can't deny the utter resemblance —"

"And I'm proud of it too!" Jessica retorted angrily. Snape looked disgusted and very angry that the girl had cut him off.

"Clearly, you have manners like him too." Snape said, his lip curling up ever so slightly. He knew he had touched a sore spot, and he was right.

"How dare you!" Jessica hissed, her hand subconsciously drifting off to her robes' pocket where her wand was, this, didn't go unnoticed by the Headmaster who stepped in.

"Jessica." This stopped her. She blinked and calmed down, her hand drifted off back to it's original position.

"As I was saying, and as far as calling names goes, I can hardly think of a more childish reason. However, if I am to deal with this matter down to her level, it was her, who began this, I was simply teaching my lesson." Snape ended.

"Well, I'm sure you've given Jessica more punishment than taking a hundred points off of her house, and giving her detention with you for the rest of the year."

"There's one more thing Professor." Snape said, it was clear that this was the matter he had been meaning to discuss. "I suspect that Black keeps contact with Sirius Black. And I also expressed my concerns on a certain professor you hired this year."

Jessica clenched her jaw, he was talking about Remus. No way. He wasn't dragging Remus into this again.

"You're not dragging Remus into this." She said, "He has nothing to do with any of this!"

"And you have?" Dumbledore questioned. Jessica looked at him annoyed. What was he playing at? She could still identify the twinkle in his eye.

"Of course I don't." Dumbledore noticed that she wasn't looking him in the eye while saying this. Dumbledore gently placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Look at me Jessica, and tell me." He said still, ever so gently.

"I am not secretly trying to make contact with Sirius Black." Jessica calmly replied. Looking straight into Dumbledore's bright eyes, under his half-moon glasses. She wasn't lying. She wasn't secretly trying to make contacts with him. He was living in her dormitory with her.

"Very well them." Dumbledore said getting up, as Snape's mouth fell wide open, and Jessica desperately wanted to say that he should close it before he catches flies, but wisely, chose not to.

"Headmaster, you're not simply leaving the matter at her word, are you?" He said.

"Oh but I am, Severus." Dumbledore said, "Good afternoon."
