The drive to Evan's house wasn't very eventful, but it was still pretty soothing for the three teens.

They had the windows rolled down, and had the latest pop songs blaring as they drove away from hell, they called high school.

The weather was pretty humid, but they were still comfortable, thanks to the wind that was blowing through their hair and over their faces.

Today was a good day, Evan would agree.

"Annnddd, we have arrived at your destination, Mr. I'm too lazy to walk to and from school." Tyler joked as he put his car into park.

"Ha ha ha, very funny. At least, I don't have to constantly ask google how to correctly cook lazanja every other night!" Evan fired back, while sticking out his tongue.

"Yeah, yeah whatever. So, are we going to play some more GTA tonight?" He asked, as Evan began getting out of his car.

"As long as I get all my chores and homework done first, I can. If I don't log on though, don't sweat it, we'll be able to play this weekend, for sure!" He chuckled evilly, as an idea popped inside his head.

"But, I'm pretty sure Craig would love to get to spend some time with you, right now. Say, why don't you take him back to your place and you guys can play some video games till I log on?" He smirked, looking at Craig to see his reaction.

Craig visibly, appeared shocked. His mouth was slightly agape, while his eyes were wide open. He tried to form words, but he just couldn't. He couldn't believe Evan just said that. He wasn't mad. And, it wasn't like he disliked Tyler, or anything. He was just caught off guard, at how far Evan was going out of his way, to get them to spend some time together.

His thoughts were interrupted when Tyler started talking.

"Yeah that sounds like a great idea! What do you say Craig? Wanna play some games at my place and order some pizza for dinner?" He hoped he would say yes, so he can finally get to know more about his cute, curly haired, crush.

"Um, I... Don't know." Craig paused, before turning to glare at his best friend, and then he quickly continued his sentence. "I have a lot of homework to do also, Evan." He continued to glare daggers at the smirking friend of his.

Evan just rolled his eyes, and tried to say something else to try, and convince him, but he got caught off by Tyler.

"Why do you keep avoiding me, Craig? Did I do something wrong? Did I make you uncomfortable with something I said?" Tyler hopelessly asked, with visible hurt in his eyes.

Craig's heart broke, at the miserable frown that now replaced Tyler's usual goofy smile.

Before, he could even register what he was doing, he abruptly, shouted out "Wait, no that's not the case. I really like you, Tyler. It's just.. I'm too shy!" He cried, not wanting to ruin something that could possibly be the best thing in his entire life, before it even started.

The next few seconds were a blur for Craig, one second he was confessing to his crush, and then next, he was being kissed by him.

Craig quickly realized what was going on, and tried his best to kiss Tyler back, but failed miserably. Hey! It was his first kiss, could you really blame him for not knowing how to kiss back?

A few seconds later, and Tyler broke the kiss with a very charming smile, and a hint of playfulness in his eyes.

"So, not that the kiss was bad or anything, but I'm going to assume, I was your first kiss. Am I correct?" Tyler smirked mischievously, and watched as Craig's face blushed as red as Evan's hoodie.

Speaking of Evan, he watched the whole scene play out, and he couldn't be happier!

"So, was it Craig? Was it really your first kissy wissy?" Evan teased, and smirked when Craig glared at him, before turning even more red, thanks to something Tyler just whispered in his ear.

Evan couldn't hear all of it, but he did manage to hear something on the lines of "We'll practice this more, later."

He smiled, as they finally said goodbye to each other, and he walked inside his house.

As soon as Evan walked inside, He was greeted by the smell of really expensive smelling perfume, and a faint stench of smoke.

That could only mean one thing, he thought.

He quietly closed the front door, and made his way up the stairs.

Once up there, he walked towards his dad's open bedroom, and peered in.

"Oh, honey have you seen my earrings?" Evan's step mother asked with her back towards him.

Evan rolled his eyes before answering. "Sadie, Dad's not home right now."

Sadie scoffed as she turned to face her husband's son from his previous marriage.

"Well, hello to you too Evan." She glared at him with full on hatred in her light, green eyes.

Evan ran his eyes over the room, and couldn't help, but frown at how messy it was, due to all of her clothes thrown everywhere.

"Where are you guys going tonight?" He couldn't hold back the venom that his voice carried, when speaking to his evil step mother.

"We're going to another one of his very important meetings, and after we're all going to be dinning at the fanciest restaurant in town-" She got interrupted when her phone started ringing.

"Oh, honey! How are you, where'd you go?" She asked with a bitter sweet tone that made Evan sick to his stomach.

"Uh huh, yeah I'm almost ready. What's Evan doing? Oh, he just got back from school. You want to talk to him? Okay, here Evan, your father wants to speak with you."

She acted like a loving mom would, but when she was left all alone with Evan, she made his life a living hell. Her glare intensified as she threw the phone at him.

Evan quickly caught it, and greeted his dad. "Hey dad, what's up?" He shifted his stance, feeling uncomfortable with Sadie's death glare, glaring him down.

"Oh, I was just wondering if you wanted to come with us tonight? Has Sadie told you what our plans are?" His dad asked.

"Yeah, Sadie's told me what you guys are doing tonight-" He got cut off when Sadie suddenly grabbed the phone out of his hand, and started talking on behalf of him.

"I would love for him to join us, Eugene. But, Evan was just now complaining about his... His stomach and head hurting plus, he does look a little warm right now. Maybe it'll be best for him to just stay home tonight?" She asked, while batting her eyes, as if that would help her in any way.

"Oh, Is he alright? Do I need to take him to the hospital?" He asked concerned for his son.

"No, he's fine. Just needs some rest. Do you want me to meet you at your work or are you going to come pick me up?" She asked, as she sat down in front of her makeup vanity, and applied more blush to her cheeks.

Evan decided that he had enough and walked away.

Walking into his room, the first thing he did was flop, face first onto his soft bed.

"Ahhh, feels wonderful to finally be home!" He beamed, as he decided to just rest there for a few minutes.

He pushed off the arm straps from his backpack, and turned to lay on his back.

He was just starting to doze off when he heard the front door open from downstairs, and his dad shout for Sadie to come down when she's done.

It took five more minutes for Sadie to finally be ready, and walk downstairs.

"Okay Evan, we'll be back later tonight! Make sure to finish all of you chores and homework, before you start playing your games. Do you want us to bring you back anything? Do you need any medicine?"

Evan heard the worry and tiredness in his dad's voice, and smiled warmly knowing that as long as he still had his dad, Sadie's nasty ways could never push him too far away.

"No, I'm fine dad. I'll just eat some leftovers, and I'll just get some rest before I start on the chores and everything else. Good luck tonight!"

And with that, Evan was left alone to sleep for a few hours.
