12: Cave in
Author's Note: Okay, this one's like a revised version of "Undercover" (another poem in this book). I felt like adding it anyways cause I like this version more.

Cut off the string.
Shut out the rings.
swerve past the beehive and escape
to another route where the bees don't
buzz and the busy don't move.
blizzard of voices snow
me in but the sweltering
sun will come
and I'll...
run
So fun.
turned backs stare at me,
piercing into my soul.
unspoken words drill me,
conversations never told.
targets on my back that
only I can see, yet
nobody misses except
for me.
Every day looking at a mirror to
make sure nothing's there.
Every day becoming more transparent,
personality following in stride, fading
ambitions, warped
to the loudests', deforming
morals, moulded
to the brashests'
Quietly taking the torment and
counting the seconds until I can go home
Back in my cave, I scream
into the dark abyss and dig deeper
into its chilling warmth,
counting the seconds until I can lay still.
