Vingt-Trois
Andy hurt. Everything was hurting and she just wanted it to stop. She knew Bella would be here soon, but she just wished to go before then.
The tracker was going to kill them both anyways, but that didn't mean he couldn't feed from her in the process. She was just thankful the the worst was him feeding and nothing else.
It was a strange feeling having someone sink there teeth into your flesh and then draw the life from you. The way his teeth were sharper than knives and pierced her veins was quick and direct, it was like a surgery being performed without anesthesia. Taking her blood was different. In the beginning her body fought him, her blood screamed to stay but the pain eventually faded into a numbing sensation that made her think death was near. It hurt incredibly.
Her throat was raw from screaming, and she was amazed at how much blood one person could have in there body, at how easily a bone could be snapped.
Andy turned her head to the side slightly and saw the many mirrors. The room was familiar to her but she couldn't yet place her finger on it. it was easy for her to tell she was in the middle of the room, and it wasn't hard for her to guess she was serving the purpose of bait.
Andy wondered who would have actually some for her if they knew where she was.
The doors banging open made her head pound, no doubt the lack of blood was making her head more sensitive. The lights flickering on made her squeeze her eye shut tightly.
"Andy? Andy!" Bella called, running to her sisters side. "Oh, god."
Lifting her hand slowly, she pouted behind Bella. "Behind you," she croaked.
The lights shut filling the room with darkness. He was standing very still near the back entrance. A smile on his face, a camera in his hands.
"I am sorry for your sister, I was in a foul mood." His stance was relaxed, his smile dangerous.
"It doesn't matter anymore." Bella's bravery shocked Andy, but she just wished that she had realized this awful truth before she came.
"How odd. You really mean it." His eyes were dark. Thirsty. "I will give your strange coven this much, you humans can be quite interesting. I guess I can see the draw of observing you."
He moved closer causing Andy's heart rate to shoot up in panic. Pulling herself to her feet, she ignored the pain lancing through her body and stood beside Bella. If she was going to die on film, it would be with dignity.
"I suppose you're going to tell me your boyfriend will avenge you?" he asked Bella, his tone hopeful.
"No, I don't think so. At east I asked him not to."
Andy's eyes widened at this knowledge. Edward knew they were here? she thought.
"And what was his reply to that?"
"I don't know." Andy was astonished at how easy Bella was conversing the hunter. "I wrote him a letter."
"How romantic," Andy grumbled under her breath.
"My exact thoughts," James tells her. "And do you think he will honor it?"
"I hope so."
"Hmm, well our hopes differ. You see, this was all just a little too easy, I expected more of a challenge."
The hunter stepped back, and lifted the camera and pointed it at the two.
"Would you mind, very much, if I left a letter of my own for our Edward?
Andy felt Bella tense beside her. Her sister knew that Edward would hunt him down hen he saw the video, Jasper and Alice probably would as well.
"I'm sorry, but I just don't think hell be able to resist hunting me after he watches this. And I wouldn't want him to miss anything. it was all for him of course. You're just a mere human, Bella, running in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and indisputably with the wrong crowd, i might add."
He stepped towards them, smiling. "Before we begin..."
Breathing in, Andy mustered all the courage and strength she had left. "Before we begin I would like to say that you're a real dick."
His response was expected, halting his gloating he turned to face Andy with a dangerous look in his eyes. Andy felt Bella shake with fear. She was able to hide her fright much better, she had seen this look before.
He was quick advancing on Andy. Grabbing her arms tightly, he plunged his teeth into her neck once again. Her scream was loud and hoarse, her throat to dry.
Andy knew he was careful not to leave any venom, she knew he didn't want her to change. It wasn't part of his plan.
Releasing his hold on her, he shoved her across the room, her back hitting a mirror. Her head cracking against it.
Her vision faded quickly. The darkness was welcomed to her, it was a familiar wave that pulled her in. Andy was use to the the drowning feeling she would regularly get, but this was different. It was like jumping off a cliff, submerging herself completely and quickly. It was letting the air leave her lungs to be replaced with an old friend.
The last thing she remembered before the darkness consumed her was Bella's screams.
Screaming and glass shattering pulled Andy out of the dark. Her vision was blurry yet she could still make out few shapes.
Andy was about to let herself fall into emptiness again before she heard her sisters pained cries and Jasper's shouts.
Pushing herself up slightly, she could make out a small figure taring up floorboards and adding them to a pile. Behind that was three figures fighting.
Getting onto her hands and knees, she crawled her way to the pile of wood. She was slow and her vision was weak, but she could make out who the figures were.
"Alice," she choked out. The girl in question lifted her head and her eyes widened at the battered girl. Abandoning the wood, she got to Andy and picked her up quickly, wanting to get her out of there.
"No." Andy's voice lacked power but it was firm. She pointed a shaky finger towards to pile and held her hand out to the girl.
A look of understanding crossed Alice's face before she gently deposited a lighter in her hand.
"Alice!" Jasper called from further in the room. The female vampire gave her a worried look before she placed her a safe distance from the wood and went to help her mate and sibling.
Andy stared at the pyre with a blank look for a brief moment before flicking the flame to life and tossing it in.
The results were instantaneous. Fire blanketed the wood, the flames licking higher and higher.
Andy couldn't help but wonder what it was liked to be burned. She had felt many horrible things in her short life, but never the kiss of fire. Watching James be torn limb from limb gave her on odd sense of satisfaction. He could never harm them, or anyone again. All the blood he took from her was what she assumed to be his final meal and she was strangely content with that.
"Andy," Jasper whispered tentatively. Feeling her emotions, he was uncertain of what going on in her head. He could feel her pain and sorrow, but also a sense of justice and satisfaction.
"Hmm?" Andy doesn't look at him, instead she watched the flames dance.
"We need to get going," He tells her. "To get you to a hospital."
Andy turned and looked at him blankly. "Bella. I need to see Bella first."
"I don't think-"
"Bella." Her voice was nearly existent but the vampires could hear her clearly, could make out every word.
Jasper nodded in defeat and cradled her in his arms. Finally able to see her up close, to hold her up close, he felt at peace. She was safe and fine. He refused to think of what would have happened if he found her dead- if Alice found her dead. Instead he focused on the multiple bite marks that would forever lay upon her skin. From what he could see, there lay at least three on her neck. He was scared of how many more there were.
Andy was placed down gently next to Bella. She was quick to look over her sister, her hand shakily fluttering over certain cuts or bruises. She wanted to reach out and touch them but was scared of causing her more pain.
"My hand is burning," Bella's words were shouted through clenched teeth and Andy let out a faint cry at her sisters matching bite mark.
Fear coursed though her. Andy knew that this had something to do with the venom and she feared for her sisters life.
"Bella?" Edward asked, his voice frightened.
"Her hand! Carlisle her hand!" Andy cried. She hated how they hadn't checked for this.
"He bit her," Carlisle's voice was no longer the calm tone Andy was used to, instead he sounded appalled.
"Edward, you have to do it." It was Alice's voice, close by Bella's head. Her cool fingers reached down and wiped the tears from Bella's eyes.
"No!" Edward bellowed.
"Alice.." Bella's voice was a faint moan.
"There may be a chance," Carlisle spoke.
"What?"
"See if you can suck the venom out." Carlisle's told him.
"Will that work?" Alice and Andy asked in unison.
"I don't know, but it will have to be done quick."
"Carlisle, I don't know it..." Edward's voice was hesitant.
"You have to make up your mind, Edward." Andy's voice shook slightly as she spoke. "Either way it's aright with me, but decided for her. Don't do it for anyone but her." Tears feel on the girls face as she gently caressed her sisters face.
"Alice get me something to brace her leg." Carlisle shouts. "Edward, you must do it now or it will be too late!"
Andy watched as a determination blazed in Edwards eyes. Slowly he lifted Bella's hand to his mouth and put into the already existing wound. Wincing, Andy sobbed as she was reminded of the familiar pain that she went though so many times over.
Bella's features slowly relaxed, alerting Andy that the pain must be gone now.
"That's enough," Andy squeaked. When Edward continue to draw blood, worry came crashing down on her. "Edward that's enough!" She attempts to shout, her voice holding much more power.
Releasing her, he moves away slightly and holds the back of his hand to his mouth.
"Bella, is the fire gone?" Carlisle asked.
When not receiving a response, Carlisle presses his ear to her chest. He rest his head there for a few more moments before lifting up and pulling away, regarding Andy and Edward with sorrow.
"No," Andy whispered.
"She's lost too much blood," Carlisle tells them.
Andy shook her head in disbelief. Bella couldn't leave her, they were a team.
"No. No, no, no," Andy leaned forward and touched her sisters face. "Wake up."
Andy felt her insides stir as she looked down at her sister. They told her she could potentially heal someone physically. That's what Jasper said.
"I can fix this," she whispered to herself.
Placing her hands on Bella's chest, she willed her sister to live. A first it was unnoticeable, but then the glowing became more prominent.
A golden glow surrounded Andy's hands as she willed Bella to stay alive. She hissed slightly as she felt cuts appear on her in the exact same places as Bella. It was't healing, what she was doing, it was taking away the hurt, the injuries.
Most of her life had been spent hidding in the shadows, on the edge of a world she never let herself participate in. Andy had always felt like a burden, weighing people down and pulling thrm back. But this was her purpose, even if she only had the opportunity to aid one person it would all be worth it.
Feeling her own energy draining, she knew this would probably kill her, that she wasn't meant to transfer physical pain this extreme. She would do it for Bella though, every time, because that's what sisters were for. Her sisters life was worth more in Andy's eyes.
When the familiar darkness played at her vision, she pushed aside Alice's worried voice begging her to stop. She let herself fall into the waters once again, hoping beyond hope that it worked.
