Dix-Neuf

The remainder of the drive back to the Swan home was spent in complete silence. Bella simply needed the time to think, where as Andy the the vampires stayed quiet because of what Andy said.

She didn't regret what she said. it was the truth and she knew it. She might have been willing to die for her sister, but that didn't mean she wanted to die. Edward hardly eve noticed her presence on a regular basis. He would only ever go out of his way to save her was if Bella requested it.

Staring blankly out the window, Andy heaved a sigh when her house came into view. She didn't want to do this to Charlie. He was her father, even if she had barely seen him growing up, he didn't deserve this.

Edward parked a little bit away from the house to keep the jeep out of sight. Turning towards Bella, he ushered her out of the car, quickly following after her.

"Don't screw up," he turns back to whisper to her. leaving in a flash before she could even think of answering him.

Andy sat in her seat silently fuming. Struggling with her seat belt, she let's out a frustrated yell because she can't get it out.

Alice gently pries her hands away so Emmett was able to unbuckle her. Both wearing a sad expression.

"I'm gonna kill him," Andy promises. "I'm gonna find a way, then I'm gonna kill him."

"Andy, you need to calm down. This isn't you." Alice tried to soothe the fuming girl but nothing seemed to be helping.

"Calm down? He treats me like some child, Alice. He acts like he is above everyone and I'm some lowly dog that needs to be put in her place."

"We can deal with this later, sweetie." Alice grabs her hands and gently leads her out the car. Sending a nod to Emmett. "We can tell Jasper later and have him deal with Edward."

Andy nods along to what Alice is saying. She knew of Jasper's past. It was something he shared with her early on. She didn't doubt for a second that he would take on Edward if Alice and Andy asked it of him.

Letting go of Alice's hands, she tells her that she'll see her in a second before jogging to the house.

Walking into her home, Andy was slightly surprised to see all the lights still on. Moving soundlessly, Andy made her way up the stairs, nearly running into her father.

Plastering a look of confusion on her face, she proceeded to act to the best of her abilities.

"What's going on? Bells?" she called, letting her voice waver slightly.

The door to Bella's room opened quickly, her sister poked her head out and gave her a stern look. "I'm leaving, Andy. If you're coming, pack a bag quick."

"Okay, I'll be fast Bells." Andy made a beeline for her room. She didn't want or need to question Bella, that was all just an act for their dad. She didn't need Charlie questioning her either, she didn't have have the time or the will to see him heartbroken over her.

Locking the door behind her, she grabbed a nearby bag and started packing her essentials. Glancing behind her, she saw Alice zipping back and forth placing articles of clothing into the bag. She didn't need to worry about clothes because Alice knew where everything was. She probably already saw herself packing everything.

Charlie was banging on her door.

"Andy, you can't go. You're only fifteen." His voice sounded frightened.

"I turn sixteen next month!" she calls through the door. "Plus I'm smart! I already skipped ahead a year in school!"

Alice turns to her with wide eyes. "You skipped a year?" she mouthed to her.

Andy nods proudly, it was not often that you surprise someone like Alice.

"How did you not know?" she mouthed back. "I would have made it clear, but I thought you already knew!"

"I didn't know your birthday was next month!" Alice whispered furiously. "Sixteen! You're supposed to be two years younger than Bella! You're birthday can't be this soon!"

"I am two year younger than her!" Andy spun around to grab some more things, a look of realization crossing her face as she go to her door and unlocks it. Turning back she faces Alice with a dazzling smile.

"Don't worry, you still have time to plan your heart out," she tease.

Andy rushed out the room, closing the door behind her and goes to the stair in hurried steps, running into her sister.

"What happened?" Charlie called.

Bella handed her sister her pills with a knowing look in her eyes before pushing her slightly towards her room.

"I broke up with him."

Andy ran to make sure she had everything she needed, before taking the heavy bag from Alice and slinging a smaller bag over her shoulder, heaving the bigger one towards the stairs.

"What happened?" Charlie yelled. He and Bella were right behind me on the stairs. "I thought you liked him."

Feeling the presence of her sister behind her missing, Andy spun to see her father holding her by the elbow in the kitchen. He looked bewildered. Bella glanced toward her and Andy knew what she was about to do. They had no time. They had to leave no matter what, even if it killed him.

"I do like him, that's the problem. I can't do this anymore! I can't put down any more roots here! I don't want to end up trapped in this stupid, boring town like Mom! I'm not going to make the same dumb mistake she did. I hate it, I can't stay here another minute!"

Bella moved from him quickly as soon as he dropped her arm. He stood there, completely defeated and looked at me with sad eyes.

"Andy, stay, Bells, please we can work something out."

"Don't you get it Dad? Where Bella goes, I go." Andy doesn't make direct eye contact with him, a silent tear made it's way down her cheek as she spoke. Her response was instantaneous.

"You can't leave now. It's nighttime." He whispered behind them.

Opening the door, And walked out and made room for her sister to follow her.

"We'll sleep in the truck if we get tired." Bella told him without turning around.

Dragging her bag toward Bella's truck, she threw it into the bed before turning and peering into the dark. Alice was there somewhere, she knew she was, but she didn't have the enhanced senses to find her.

"Alice!" She whisper yelled. It wasn't long before the girl appeared near the truck, completely out of sight.

"How bad is it?" she asked with a sigh.

"He'll forgive you." Alice answered, avoiding her question. Andy wasn't stupid, she knew that it was bad just by her response, but she was thankful for it.

"You're taking the jeep back right?" Seeing Alice nod, she continued. "I'll ride with you then. I'm sure Bells will be fine with her boyfriend."

Andy sat in the passenger seat of the jeep watching the scenery as they drove. She had no idea when she would return, it was better to take it all in now. She would certainly miss it. She would miss the Quileute boys, and her father, but she had a feeling it wouldn't be the end of this.

Andy grabbed her bag of pills from her small bag. Taking out one for her anxiety, she looked at the tiny thing silently.

The medication did something to her, like it made her feel slightly off. When it was just starting to work through her system, it felt like she was looking through a pool of water. \things only made sense after a certain amount of peering and gazing. It took her longer to analyze and observe, making her feel behind and slightly defenseless.

She took the pill.

Reaching into her bag, she takes out one of her sleeping pills. The dosage was perfect for her. It wasn't strong enough to knock her out completely, that wasn't what she needed it for. She took them only on the nights that her lungs felt corrupted, and her heart ached. she only took it on the nights that her veins felt full of poison, and her mind wouldn't be quiet. The dosage meant to relax her, to cause her pain to go numb so sleep came easily.

"Only wake me up for something important," she tells Alice.

Andy took the pill, and when her eyelids felt heavy she welcomed the darkness that lulled her into a dreamless sleep.
