Chapter Three- There Appears to Have Been a Mix-up

(Woahhhh, sorry for the slow update, I have no idea why it took so long.)

Sans looked up at the larger monster, leaning away from him. His eye-lights shrunk slightly as he choked out, "wh-what?"

He looked the monster over, his eye-lights traced with confusion. There was no way that he could possibly be Grillby. Grillby was the warm, kind, soft-spoken monster he had known for years, not whoever this guy was. This had to be some elaborate prank. It just... had to be.

"You heard me right," the fire elemental replied in his serpent-like voice, leaning closer to the skeleton, the table creaking under his weight, "I'm Grillby."

Sans stared at the monster blankly, before a nervous laugh slowly became present. "oh, come'on, this has gotta be some sorta joke. amiright?" He laughed breathily, "y-you guys sure all got me, heh. time to call it off now, i caught ya."

The purple monster cocked his head at Sans, "You really think this is an elaborate joke?" He chuckled coldly, "This is far from a prank, Sans." He hissed the skeleton's name, seeing him noticeably recoil from his tone.

"this... this can't..." Sans looked up at the monster, a frightened confusion passing over his features.

The other being smirked, "I'm not sure where you came from, nor what happened, but this is reality." He looked towards the skeleton, feeding off of the fear he could sense coming from the smaller being.

The taller monster pushed himself off of the table and walked around the booth, so he was standing in front of the exit to the side of the booth Sans was in, blocking his way out. He gingerly placed one hand on the table, and the other on the head of the black, leather bench.

Sans looked the monster over, still trying to process what he was hearing. He then turned away from the elemental, his eye-lights falling onto some unknown point in the distance as he spoke in a near monotone voice, "so...this isn't a prank... you're actually grillbz... paps is the leader of the guard... and i'm not supposed to look like this..." He spoke slow, his own mind trying to wrap around the thought, his world feeling like it just crashed right before his eyes.

"That sounds right," the monster said, the rogue smile still pulling his lips.

Sans took in a shaky breath, his left foot shaking as a nervous habit. He jumped startled, as a purple arm started crossing his vision, plucking his beloved, worn, blue hoodie off the table. The taller monster looked the clothing over, seeming to be examining it.

Sans furrowed his brows, glancing towards the monster, "what are you doin'?"

The monster turned the material over in his hands a few times, before dropping it back onto the table as if it was worthless. He looked back at the monster declaring to be Sans, despite being nothing like him. His hoodie didn't even smell like the mustard he drank every single day.

He ignored the skeleton's question, instead asking, "You're claiming to be Sans?" He looked at the smaller monster, watching him nod slowly, before turning away from him once again. The skeleton then began playing with the fabric of the sleeve of his hood that was lying on the table, seeming to be distracted. "Hm..." The purple monster revealed his long, pointed tongue as he slowly licked his flaming lips.

Sans wasn't looking towards the monster, his mind still trying to understand what was going on, or where he was. His mind wandered back to his old life back at the lab, the timelines and universes that the doc had always gone on and on about before he had completely lost his mind.

is it possible that i didn't just jump a timeline, but instead fell into an entirely different parallel universe? Sans asked himself.

It seemed to be the answer. It was the only possibility that made sense. Now, he had to figure out how to find his way back home. His way back to his brother. He couldn't just... live in this world... he needed to get back.

Sans felt himself pull from his thoughts, sudden heat increasing to his side. He snapped out of his daydream, looking over beside him to find this new 'Grillby' hovering over him, a devilish smile cracking the flames that danced on his features.

Sans scooched over to the side, trying to get away from the monster, only to find himself bump into the mirror that was drilled into the wall.

The skeleton looked up at the monster, his brow bones knitting together, "can ya please back up," he snapped at him, "i kinda want some personal space."

Grillby then looked down at him in a deriding manner, "And I 'kinda want' to see something." He said, mocking the skeleton.

Sans furrowed his brows, not wanting anything to do with this monster, "uh-huh, can you 'see somethin' ' farther that four inches away from me."

"No." The fire monster said simply with finality, as if he had an authority over Sans' words that the skeleton seemed unaware of. He the reached towards the smaller monster.

Sans instantly summoned a bone, only for it to dissipate before even fully forming. dammit. He thought to himself, cursing himself for using up his magic to heal.

The fire elemental looked at him in honest surprise, "Well, wasn't that a brave move." He then laughed threateningly, "Isn't it just too bad that it didn't work out." He teased, his features gaining a mask of darkness.

Sans' magic vibrated emitting a low growl, trying to cover up the fear in the pit of his soul, if he had fur it would be standing on end as he looked up at the deceitful man.

The flickering individual shook his head at the smaller monster, "I only want to see something, I promise," he paused, leaning towards Sans, his voice dropping in pitch slightly, "I won't bite." He looked towards the skeleton mischievously, gingerly putting a finger under the skeleton's chin grabbing his shoulder roughly with his other hand.

Sans knew how incredibly weak he was without magic, knowing that it would do more harm than good for him to try to fight back physically. The only chance he had would be by kicking him, but his legs were wound in a manner that left him stock-still.

The skeletal monster fell rigid in the other beings hands, an involuntary shiver creeping up his spine as the monster turned his head to the side, leaning towards the nape of his neck. His teeth grit together, holding back the cry from fear that was vibrating in the back of his throat as he held his breath in frightened anticipation. He felt the monsters heat become even more oppressive as his scalding breath licked his exposed bone.

The monster used his hand that was gripping his humerus, to tighten on his t-shirt, pulling it slightly to reveal more of his shoulder and collar. He looked at the slightly damaged collar bone, taking a mental note of that before checking for 'the mark' he was looking for.

Grillby felt Sans begin to shake under him, like a frightened puppy as he pulled on his shirt, causing a malicious grin to spread easily through his flames. Whoever this 'Sans' was, Grillby knew that he was liking him a lot more than the one he knew before already.

The fire elemental gave the area another look over, seeing how un-scarred his bones were, before determining that this 'Sans' did not have his brother's mark of ownership. He pushed himself away from the smaller monster, letting him go before leaning back in the booth, staring at skeleton.

Sans immediately let go of the breath he was holding, grabbing his shirt and pulling it back up over the bone. As soon as he felt the fire elemental remove himself from him, he sent a cold glare towards the man, bottling up the screeching fear back into the bottom of his sternum.

"what the hell was that about." Sans said stiffly through his gritted teeth, to stop a stutter from breaking through.

The monster smirked, "You don't have your brother's marking on your neck."

Sans frowned at him confused, "my what?"

The fire elemental chuckled at his naivety, "The marking your brother scarred into your bone to claim that you were his property." He leaned back slightly, relaxing in a cold manner, "I don't know who you are," he licked his lips, "but I'm liking you better already."

Sans looked at the foreign tongue, seeming a bit startled by it, before easily shaking it off, looking towards the fire monster, "yeah, 'bout that. i don't know what the hell is goin' on, but i think i should get home." He sat up, reaching for his coat, only for the other monster to grab his wrist before he could even touch his hoodie.

Sans' voice growled from his low tone as he sternly said, "let. go."

"You don't want me to do that," the fire monster hissed, "If you actually believe that your brother is soft," He laughed, "You are in for a surprise." He looked towards the skeleton, his eyes holding no good intent. "It's late anyway."

Sans glanced over at the man who was refusing to release his wrist, "what's that supposed t'mean?"

"You could stay here," he smirked, a taunting look in his orbs.

Sans blinked, "... yeah, i'll pass." He tried to rip his arm from the fire monster, only for the man to not comply. Sans felt himself want to snap at him, trying to push down his initial emotion to start yelling. "let go... right now." He said, keeping his voice as steady as possible.

"Well, don't you seem eager to get beaten half-to-death with a belt before he uses your soul to pleasure himself while gaining impressive amounts of LOVE from your pain?" He said behind his smirk, watching the skeleton's face bend with emotion, "I guess you're just into that thing." He teased, letting go of his wrist, standing up out of the booth, "If you are so willing to meet that, then I won't stop you. But, may I remind you that I'm not one to be rough with a soul, unlike him." He purred the last bit, leaving the path open for the skeleton.

Sans looked at him in a mixture of shock, confusion, and hatred. He slowly grabbed his hoodie, his eye-lights not leaving the other monster as he crept out of the booth cautiously. He shrugged his hoodie on, as if he was stuck in slow motion, still staring at the other monster, before carefully making his way the door. He reached for the handle, only to hesitate. His bones feeling the handle radiating a warm sensation on the tips of his fingers that hovered over the metal.

He suddenly heard a voice very close to where his ear would be located. He didn't jump or move, just kept his head bowed. He felt the man's hot breath on the left side of his skull, still not understanding how his footsteps were so quiet as to not hear him walking up behind him. The man spoke in a hissing, popping whisper.

"Why are you hesitating?" He said sadistically.

Sans took in a deep breath, "will he..."

"Hm?" He hummed, waiting for Sans to continue.

Sans' voice was quiet, "will he actually..." Sans paused, rewording what he was trying to ask, "are you tellin' me the truth...?"

"Isn't that what I've done this whole time?" He laughed breathily, his voice a sickenly sweet tease.

The skeleton still wasn't fully buying it, "you're tellin' me, he will actually--"

"Pleasure himself with your body until you come crying right back to me about how much everything hurts?" He leaned towards the skeleton, his voice barely a whisper as he spoke, "How badly your body and mind ache, despite knowing how easily I could rip you to dust and gain enough EXP to become almost as powerful as your brother?" He turned the skeleton's head to face him with his left index finger, finding two vacant eye-sockets staring back at him. "Yes, that is what I am telling you." He purred, feeling the skeleton slightly lull towards him.

He backed away slightly and cocked his head at the tiny monster, seeing his hand still hovering over the door handle, "You don't seem to understand, hm." He hummed, "Your brother isn't whoever you seem to think he is. He will rip you apart until you are in a limbo between life and death. You will be bruised, broken, and he won't care" Grillby laughed, "No one will care."

Sans still couldn't find the will to form words.

"We can all hear you screaming and crying for help." He smirked, "It's quite amusing what our imaginations picture him doing to you. But, nobody will ever come..." He slowly licked his bottom lip, watching the skeleton coil away slightly just from a simple gesture, "Now, do you want to leave?" He smiled devilishly.

Sans' hand slowly lowered from the handle, before he finally came back to his senses, stumbling back from the monsters touch, pressing himself against a wall. where the hell am i? He asked himself, his hands pushing into his temple, not being able to imagine his brother ever abusing him or anyone. He let out a half-hearted laugh, looking towards the fire monster to his side, trying to absorb it all.

The skeleton sent him a crooked, jerked, smile before shakily laughing looking towards the ceiling, not seeming to be talking to anyone but himself as he slip to the ground, "where the fuck am i?"

The fire monster silently walked in front of the skeleton, crouching down to his level, "I've told you where you are countless times," he said with a waggish grin, "Now, what do you plan on doing?"

Sans looked down from the ceiling and into the monsters white orbs. Was this the most trustworthy thing he truly had? He couldn't tell, he didn't know, he didn't know if anything he said was true... but there was no way he could have made it all up...

The fire monster held out a hand to the monster, waiting for him to either accept or reject it.

Sans watched the man's purple flames dance with energy and power, something he knew he'd never be able to have. His flame flickered and crackled, illuminating the whole bar with a sickening life. He felt the malicious warmth of the monster sting his bones.

He missed the old warmth. The orange glow. Followed by a few laughs before his sweet, innocent, brother came charging in, screaming at him for being out thirty seconds later than he was supposed to, having to depart from the fire elemental's welcoming glow and entering the cozy aura of his home.

He wanted them back.

He needed them back.

And he couldn't do that if his so-called brother would beat him until he couldn't see straight.

He looked the man in the eyes, taking a deep breath, making his choice.

He accepted his hand.
