Chapter 1: According To Plan

Chapter 1: According To Plan

Jackson kept looking out the window to his carriage his hand on his cheek feeling like a cage bird now. "This is a big day for us Jackson, a very big day." Jack heard his mother say making him sigh, "I know mother." He answers. Today wasn't a big day to him though, today it felt like it was going to be the end of his life. "Jackson Frost, I know that tone, don't start with us young man." Jack hear his father says making him look at his family. His mother and father have been together for forty plus years, and his father was the owner of Frost Ice Company who was the biggest ice company in this part of the world. They were rich, famous and Jack... Well Jack was their only child, the only one who could take over the company and inheritance when the time came.

And now at the age of twenty one, it was his job to marry, to help two families became one. It wasn't even to help his family, it was to help another, the Arendelle Family. Jack didn't know much of that family, only heard rumors, that their oldest child went insane and ran away from home, to even return and to leave their youngest to take over, to keep their family a float. "It really is a nice day for a wedding." Jack heard his mother say making him roll his eyes, "Maybe for you." He answers making her glare at him. "Jackson did you think I wanted to marry an ice man?" She ask making him shrug, "You did didn't you?" He ask. "Only because it was my duty as the oldest in my family to marry, to help my family." She answers looking at her husband.

Jack's father was a normal looking man with salt and pepper hair and light blue eyes. He wasn't bad looking, honestly Jack thought his mother could of done worse. And his mother, his mother was not a mean nor kind person. She was just doing what was best as she look herself in her small mirror making sure her light blonde hair that use to be dark in her hay day was perfect. "Anna Arendelle is a catch son, you could of done much worse." Jack's father says. "Now you just need to reel her in." His mother added. "I'm already reeled in mother... shouldn't this Anna Arendelle marry a lord or something?" He ask seeing that they were getting closer.

"A lord!? Heavens no, not with their family history." His mother said. Jack turned his head, right their family history, like his was any better. He just wanted this day to be over...

Anna held her breath as she felt her maid tighten her corset tighter. "I don't think my soon to be husband will like a wife to be dead." Anna says making her maid laugh, "Every man likes a woman who is skinny my dear." She says making Anna sigh, "Not every man..." She says as she hears a knock at the door to see her mother and father walking in. They haven't been the same since her sister ran away, it's been almost two years and yet... they were heartbroken. And it didn't make it any easier that they were broke and having to marry off their other daughter. "They'll be here soon Anna." Anna's mother says as she tighten her hands together.

She looked tired to Anna, her once dark green eyes were light now and her red hair was showing off more gray. "Mother... Do you think this is a good idea? I mean... I just turned eighteen last week..." Anna ask as her maid helped her put on her dress. "Of course it is! The Frost family is a wonderful family to marry into. Plus they will help us out since..." Her father started before he cleared his throat, "We lost everything." He adds making Anna look down at her hands. "Beside I got married to your father at eighteen and look at us now." Her mother says making Anna raise an eyebrow. "Right but... Shouldn't I marry someone I... Love?" She ask making her parents start to laugh a little, "Love? You'll learn to love this Jackson Frost Anna. You'll see." Anna's father said taking his wife's hand and start to walk out. "Now finish getting ready, we'll meet you in the parlor." Her mother says as the door closes behind them.

Anna sighs as she looks at herself in the mirror, sadness in her eyes. "Why do I have to fix her mistakes?" Anna asked her maid making her sigh, "I don't know young Miss, but you do." She says patting her on the shoulder, "I'll leave you alone to think." She says as she nods her head and walks out of the room leaving Anna alone with her thoughts. Anna looked closer at herself in the mirror, she wasn't bad looking, not as beautiful as her sister but she was still pretty. She had strawberry blonde hair with freckles around her nose and deep green eyes.

She placed her head on her vanity, she wanted to cry, she wanted to run away like her sister did. But she couldn't do that to her family. She heard another knock at the door making her look to see her servant Kristoff come in. Anna's heart started to beat faster seeing him. She always thought he was so handsome with his dirty blonde hair and brown eyes to match. "Hello Miss. Arendelle." Kristoff says making Anna blush, "Hello Kristoff." She says as Kristoff closes the door and quickly runs to her making her push her chair out and go into his arms.

Kristoff held her tight as he felt tears go through his shirt. "Oh Anna." He whispers. For almost two years, Anna and Kristoff have had a secret relationship, he was the only one who understood her, to loved her for her. "I'm getting married tonight... And I haven't even meet this man before." Anna cries as Kristoff held her close. "I know, but we agreed you'd marry him for you family. I.. I can't help you out, I can't give you everything you deserve." Kristoff says making Anna push back, "I don't care... I wouldn't care if we were broke or living on the street as long as we were together." Anna says making Kristoff smile, "I wish that's how the world worked Anna but it's not how it works." He says kissing her softly on her hands making it harder for her to know she was going to have to meet this Jackson Frost.

"I should go." Anna says upset and hurt with the words that escape out of her lips. "I know. I... I just wanted to tell you, that I will always love you." Kristoff says making Anna smile, "And I'll always love you." She got on her tip toes and kissed him as he wrapped his arms around her pulling Anna off her feet holding her close. She didn't want this moment to end but, it did when she heard the doorbell. Kristoff put her back on the ground and pulled away. "Shit.. I have to..." He says backing up making Anna nod, "No, go it's okay." She says waving good bye as Kristoff gave her a small broken smile as he waved good bye and close the door.

Anna sighed and went back to her vanity as she tried to fix her face from the tears that stained her face. She kept sniffling trying to hold back more tears as she heard something that made her stop, a piano. She looked at her door shocked. No one had played the piano in her home since her sister ran away. She pushed back her chair and started to slowly go out of her room. She didn't know who was playing but she wanted to meet them.

***

"Their house isn't as nice as ours." Jack heard his mother says as he rolled his eyes walking into the Arendelle's house. "And it took their Server way to long to open the door for us." Jack's father answered as Jack looked at the dirty blonde server glaring at his parents. Jack locked eyes with him, "Sorry." He mouthed making the server smile a little and nod his head. "Welcome to our home." Mrs. Arendelle says as she and her husband walked down their grand staircase. "Thank you for having us." Jack's mother said as Mr. Arendelle kissed her hand. Mrs. Arendelle looks at Jack, "Ah you must be the young Jackson Frost." Jack nods as he kissed her hand, "Yes ma'am it's nice to meet you." Jack says making her blush, "You are really handsome. But with such strange hair color." Mrs. Arendelle says. Jack held back an eye roll, he knew his hair color was different form what everyone is.

His hair was almost white as snow blonde and with his dark blue eyes it was hard not to stand out. "Where is your daughter at?" Jack's father asked making him happy for once that his father interrupted. "She'll join us in awhile, why don't we go into the parlor and wait for her." Mr. Arendelle says as everyone starts to follow the Arendelle. "Come along Jackson." Jack hears his mother making him sigh and follow but stops when he see's a piano. He waited a while to make sure everyone was gone before he touches a key making him smile.

He could feel his fingers glide over the keys as he slowly sat down playing a melody he wrote for someone so long ago. He couldn't remember the name of the person but he remembered her eyes, those beautiful ocean blues eyes that he was always drawn too. He was hoping he when he got older that he would meet that girl again but... He never did.

Jack was so lost in the music he didn't hear someone come up behind him until he felt someone grab his shoulder making him jump back knocking the stool over and almost a vase. Luckily he caught the vase, "I am so sorry." He says looking up to see a girl with strawberry blonde hair and deep green eyes. "I'm sorry for scaring you." The girl says with a giggle as Jack straighten up, he had a feeling he knew who this woman is. "You must be Ms. Anna Arendelle." Jack says as he took her hand and kissed it. "And you must be Mr. Jackson Frost." Anna adds taking her hand back.

"Yes..." he says as he bends over and picks up the stool. He moved his hand over the stool making Anna sit down. "You played beautifully." Anna says making Jack smile, "Thank you Miss. Arendelle, I... I've always admire the piano, how it can be so beautiful but so dark at the same time with music." Jack says rubbing his neck, he wasn't good with small talk and neither was Anna. "My... Family didn't want me to learn, they said it wasn't lady like..." But it never stopped my sister from learning. She thought but she didn't want to say that to him. She wasn't good at this, and she was also not feeling this either. She was nervous, scared and heartbroken that's all she felt. Jackson Frost wasn't a bad looking man, actually he was very handsome, and she liked that he had such odd hair color, but that was more of her sister's type then Anna. Anna like men like Kristoff, someone who was there for her to take care of her.

"This is... Nerve wrecking." Anna says finally making Jack slowly sit next to her. "It is... Tonight we will be mar... Marr..." Why was the word so hard for him? "Married?" Anna said the word making Jack gulp. "Yes... Married." He says with a sigh. They couldn't look at each other, Anna kept looking at her hands and Jack kept looking at his shoes. "Do you feel the same way I feel?" She ask looking up at Jack to see him looking at her. She was very beautiful but he just didn't feel anything for her but friendship, and form the look in her eyes, she felt the same way. "It depends, what are you feeling?" Jack ask. Anna sigh, "I must be honest with you... I'm in love with someone else." She says making Jack surprised but not at the same time. "Then why..."

"My family needs money, so they don't end up in the poor house." Anna interrupts remind Jack why he was doing this. "Right... I am so sorry." Jack says grabbing her hand, "Dose this gentleman love you back?" He ask making Anna nod, "He dose, and he loves me enough to... Let me go I guess." Anna says and Jack see tears come into her eyes. He didn't like it when woman were upset or crying, it made him feel like a bad gentleman and a friend. So he pulled her close and held her. "Maybe... We can figure something out so we don't need to do this." Jack says but he could feel Anna shaking, "There is no other way unless I run away. But then I'd be just like my sister." Anna says pulling back, she didn't mean to say that...

"Right you had an older sister, I... I did hear rumors of her running off, they were true?" Jack ask making her nod, "Yes but it's not what everyone thinks, she ran away because she believed she was in love. She is the reason we are in this mess." Anna says putting her hands in a fist. "Do you think she was?" Jack ask but Anna shook her head, "No, we never even meet the guy. She told us it was because he wanted her all to hisself, to me it was because he wanted our money... Well when we had money." Anna says with a sigh.

Jack didn't know what else to say to her, he could tell she was upset, angry if anything but he didn't know the feeling of losing everything. So he grabbed her hand making her look at him, "We'll think of something, this can't be our fate Miss. Arendelle." Jack says making her smile, "Anna." Jack raised an eyebrow, "What?" He ask making her laugh a little, "If we are to be friends or even husband and wife, you should at less call me by my name. So call me Anna." She says making some red go to Jack's cheeks, he couldn't help it, he had never called another woman by their names before, it was rude to his families eyes unless you were married or long time friends.

"Ri... Right... An... Anna." He stuttered making her laugh again, he really was nervous just like her. Jack couldn't help but smile, he really wanted to help her, so she could still be laughing and smiling like that. Jack wanted to ask who this gentleman was that had taken the heart of Anna but he couldn't get a word because he heard a loud and anger voice.

"What is the meaning of this!?" The young couple hear as they look behind them to see Mrs. Arendelle looking at them both. "You two should not be alone together!" She says making Jack and Anna jump to their feet. "We were just talking mother." Anna says rubbing her arm while Jack rubbed his neck. "It dose not matter, get in here, Father Jones is waiting." She says walking back into the parlor. Anna sighs as she looks at Jack who was still looking shocked. "How do you feel about your future mother in law?" Anna asks. "Terrified." Jack winces making Anna laugh looping her arm through his, "I feel the same." She jokes as Jack smiles and walks with her to the parlor so they could practice and get ready for tonight.

Hans walked back into his hometown feeling his lungs want to explode. "Lord I hate this place." He says as he walks the streets to see that nothing has really changed but there was a reason he was here. Rumor has it that a young Anna Arendelle was to wed a Jackson Frost. And if he remember correctly, the Arendelle's were loaded, which is just what he needed, he was close to his last dime and needed more money. He walked up to a news stand to see a young boy reading a book, not paying attention. Hans tapped his finger on the wood of the stand making the boy jump dropping his book and looking up.

"Sorry Sir, I didn't see you." The boy says making Hans wave his hand, "It's alright, I was actually wondering where I can find the Arendelle house?" Hans ask. The looked at the man, he looked to dressed up to go to a small wedding, almost like he was a Lord. "Are you a guest to the wedding?" The boy ask making Hans nod, "I am. A cousin twice removed." Hans says making the boy glare, he didn't really know if he believed him or not but he didn't really care either. So he lends over the stand and points down the road, "Take this road straight and on the last house on the left is the Arendelle house." The boy says sitting back.

Hans tips his hats as a thanks and walks off. Soon he'd meet this Anna Arendelle and take her hand.

This was a lot harder then Jack thought. "Master Frost, if you don't get this right then you won't be able to marry." Jack heard as he looked at Father Jones. He knew he was upset, just like the whole families were, they have been there for almost three hours trying to get these vows right. "I'm... Sorry Sir." Jack says looking at Anna who looked tried and worried. Father Jones sigh, "Let's, try it again." He says pinching the bridge of his nose. Jack nods, "Okay... With... With..." Jack says looking Anna for help. "Hand." She mouths. "Hand! With this hand..." Jack says taking Anna's hand almost rushed and rough as he starts to walk. "I will lift.. ouch!" He says taking to many steps hitting the table almost knocking over the wine and cups.

"Three steps! Three Master Frost!" Father Jones yells making everyone in the room gasp and sigh. "Do you not wish the be married Mr. Frost?" Father Jones ask. "No!" Jack says making Anna look at him eyes wide wishing he could hit his head on a table. "I mean that's not... I do wish to marry I..." He stopped when he heard the door bell, thank god. Kristoff was thinking the same thing as he walked out of the room, it was hard to be in that room watching the woman he loved married someone else. And that man was an totally idiot.

Kristoff opened the front door to see a man with reddish brown hair and green eyes. "I'm Lord Hans Isles here for the wedding party." He says making Kristoff step aside as Hans walks in. Kristoff glares as he walk in front of him showing him where everyone else was at. He open the parlor doors and walked to his Master, "A Lord Isles is here." Kristoff says making Mr. Arendelle look at his wife. "Family?" He ask making her shrug, "I don't know and I don't care. Kristoff get a sit for Lord Isles and let's continue." She says making Kristoff bow and grab a sit for this man he didn't know. He walked back to the back of her parlor feeling Anna's eyes on him.

Jack looks at Anna as she looked at Kristoff, Ah, so that's him. He thought as he felt something hit him in the head, "Ow." He says rubbing his head. "Pay attention Mr. Frost! And let's try again, start with the candle." Father Jones says making Jack nod as he holds the candle. "With this candle." Jack starts as he goes to light it but it won't light. He looks up at Father Jones who was just glaring. Jack looks back at the candle, "With this... Candle." He says finally getting the candle to light. He sigh with relief as he stands up straight again, "With this candle.." He says with a laugh making the candle go out.

"Oh Jackson." He heard his mother says. He just wanted to go hide in a hole now. Anna touches his hand as she uses her candle to relight his. "Breath." She whispers making him nod a little, "I'm trying my best." He whispers back as the candle glowed to life. "Shall we continue?" Jack ask. "Right." Father Jones hisses. "Right." Jack says as Anna poked him and pointed to his hand. He looked to see that he candle was in the wrong hand. "Right!" Jack say as he moves the candle to his right hand. He grabs Anna's hand again and takes a deep breath but before he could say anything he heard someone clear their throat.

All eyes went to Lord Hans. "I'm sorry to interrupt but, where is the ring?" He ask making all the eyes go back to Jack. "The ring?" He says as he hands the candle to Anna as he digs in his pocket finally pulling out a golden ring. "The ring." He says as it slips form his fingers. Dear god why!? Jack thought as he chases after the ring. "He dropped the ring!" Mr. Arendelle yells. "He dosen't want to marry our daughter." Mrs. Arendelle adds making Jack roll his eyes, She dosen't want to marry me either... Jack thought as he finally found the ring. "Got it." He says but the damage was done, everyone was upset and over this.

"Enough!" Father Jones says walking to Jack, "Master Frost, learn your vows or you will not get married tonight." He threatens making Jack step back. Kristoff opens the door for him, "I would run." He says making Jack nod as he ran out of there. Anna stood there stunned, he actually ran off. Hans couldn't help but smile, this was better then he thought.

"Well, he is quite the catch."
