kelsea's POV

my mom and corbyn had got to lakeside academy about three hours ago and my mom was still talking with the enrollment advisor and the dean of the school.

as of right now corbyn is helping me set up my new room, marcelina gave me a room and showed me where it is and i'm on the second floor, it's single dorms here which like lucky me. that makes me happier to have my own room.

i'm so excited to be in a new town with a new school i feel like the new and improved kelsea besson. i am feeling good right now and being around my mom and corbyn was actually a good idea, they are being supportive so far and loving. i am lucky to have them.

as corbyn and i finished setting up my room, it looked pretty good. it has a twin size bed and a desk, closet, and a mini fridge. we hadn't finished unpacking my clothes but corbyn asked if i wanted to take a break and walk around the school.

"yeah we can do that." i nodded and smiled and went to hug him. "thanks for coming, i was all alone, you're right this is so much better, plus i have my car with me. that'll be good."

mom had also brought me a few things that i had forgotten or didn't think i needed and she gave me 500$ to my bank account. she says i have to pay half of it back but it'll definitely help.

i didn't tell her how zach gave me 200$ but she doesn't need to know.

as corbyn and i were walking down the dorm hallway we looked at the bathrooms and showers, and then made our way to the cafeteria.

"it seems nice, right? i hope i love it here."
i said and looked at corbyn.

"i hope you do too, you will be happy though." he smiled.

we decided to take some pictures outside before he left as well so i quickly got changed into a cute dress and tights and doc martens, and when mom finished up with the advisor and the dean she took pictures for us. i want to hang them in my room.

corbyn is my best friend and he always has been. lauren will always have a special place in my heart, eventually we will talk again. we'll see.

mom and corbyn left that night, he decided he would stay in virginia at the house for a few days and head back to california after, and mom had to get home for work.

now i'm on my own. i feel nervous but also excited. this is all so new.

i decided to post one of the pictures with corbyn to instagram as i laid in bed in my sweats and hoodie.

so i replied to a few comments as well, and then i went to my direct messages and there was alot so i skimmed through and replied to some fans and others..

i kept looking through my messages and came across lauren's.

lauren_rosee: kelsea

lauren_rosee: why would u block me

lauren_rosee: that's really awful lmao

lauren_rosee: whatever i did everything for u. you were my best friend i guess that meant nothing to u.

me: i know i'm sorry i'll unblock u and explain everything ok

i went to unblock her and i did as i said i would, she did deserve an explanation. she was the best best friend, i just need a new start, that school was never gonna let me change or restart.

i looked around my room and decided to finish unpacking my clothes and tried to pick out an outfit for tomorrow, it'll be my first day of classes here.

then i thought of a good idea, i'll facetime lauren. so i started calling her and she picked up like instantly.

i felt nervous.

"hey kelsea..." lauren said and just left her camera facing the ceiling on her dresser, i think.

"hi laur. well so ok i'm sorry i didn't tell you and i'm sorry i blocked you i just you're the one person i couldn't say it to. i parked outside your house yesterday when i texted you and you weren't home so i left and i couldn't say bye to you, you're the only one at berekly high who actually likes and cares about me. this isn't a goodbye laur, i'm just in lakeside at this new school it's lakeside academy and there's dorms and i'm like really excited i need a new start. like a reset, i think it's gonna be good for me." i rambled on and on as i put away my clothes. "oh and i want you to help me pick an outfit for tomorrow, remember the first day of high school first day of ninth grade, you slept over and we talked all night how we were gonna be the fucking queens of the whole fucking school. you're always going to be my best friend laur, i love you and there is no one ever that will replace that." i said and tried not to cry, "thanks for everything and helping me before and after the whole rehab. you're the best and i treated you awful these last few months."

i looked at the phone and she picked it up and she was crying when i saw her face, "it's ok kels. i love you more, i just want you to be happy."

i nodded and smiled, "and i'll visit for your track meets and cheer comps i promise."

she smiled at me as well, "thanks kels. i'd love that, now let's just switch the mood and pick your outfit. you have to look amazing."

i nodded and started putting outfits together, "hmmm."

"show me!" she laughed, "oh and your room! let me see!"

"alright, it's a single dorm too so i'm really happy about that." i added.

"damn maybe i need to come. i want a single room." she joked, i could tell she was unserious,
she likes berekly high.

after a fun night with lauren, (a two hour call), we picked my outfit for tomorrow and hung up and said goodnight.

right as i was about to go to bed, i hopped in the covers and zach texted me.

zachary: hi kels

zachary: so corbyn came up to lakeside?

zachary: he told me and i saw your ig

me: yeah he did

zachary: nice, he also said your mom gave u money

me: mm and let me guess u told him u gave me money

zachary: yeah sorry

me: it's fine

me: i need it tho but ok listen i'll get a job, pay you back, and my mom will forget about the money she gave me eventually like i'm not going to even tell her when i get a job

zachary: lmao alright sure

me: i just need the money ok i have 700 rn so that should be good i can order clothes, food and whatever else ok

me: i will definitely just do uber eats alot shhhhh

zachary:'lmao ok kels

me: i'm tired and i have my first day tmrw so goodnight zach

zachary: goodnight kels.

and with that, i set my alarm, put my phone on the charger and i fell asleep within minutes.
