Long one! Warning.

You and Sans yawned simultaneously, and Papyrus squinted at you.

"SANS YOUR UP EARLY. YOU USUALLY DON'T GET UP AT ALL."

Sans shrugged. "The kid woke me up."

Papyrus shrugged. "WELL I MUST BE GOING. I-"

You jumped up. "Sans should go with you. Definitely. So your not alone."

Sans gave you a wierd look, but you ignored it. "Besides, he needs to get out and about every now and then. Come on, don't send him out there alone, Sans. Who knows, he might need your help."

Sans seemed to realize what you were saying and cringed. "Yeah, I'll go."

You nodded. "Keep him safe."

Sans nodded, and they left a few minutes later.

You scooped up some of the water into a cup and cradled it to your chest. Then sniffed and wiped your nose on your sleeve. You were standing in Waterfall, next to the little river. An ice chunk floated past you, and for a moment you pondered where it was going.
Then you stood up from your crouched position and went on your way.
You passed monster kid, standing near one of Sans' stations. You glanced at the single blue flower growing there, then continued on your way.
You passed a little box and paused at the edge of the waterfall. You took a breath and stepped into it. The cold bit into your legs and you gasped, stopping to let you self adjust to it.

"Okay, okay..." You sloshed into the water, and it went up to your knees. Your breath hitched and you clutched the cup tightly.
When you got to the otherside, you did a few small jumps to warm up, then walked forward shakily.
You waded through some tall grass, then looked at a sign that was on the wall.

"When four bridge seeds align in water, they will sprout."

You did as the sign said and crossed.
You went through a couple of streams, and found a door.
There was another flower.

You leaned down to smell it, and it whispered, "a long time ago, monsters would whisper their wishes to the stars in the sky. If you hoped with all your heart, your wish would come true. Now all we have are these sparkling stars on the ceiling...

You leaned up and frowned, then turned. There was a sign on the wall, but you skipped it and went to the next flower.

"Thousands of people wishing together can't be wrong! The king will prove that."

Next.

"C'mon sis! Make a wish!"

"I wish my sister and I will see the real stars some day."

"Ah, seems my horoscope is the same as last week..."

You glanced through the telescope. A message was written on the glass.

Check the wall!

You did. You opened the door, and found some more signs.

"The war of Humans and Monsters."

It was a title. The next one....

"Why did the humans attack? Indeed, it seemed that they had nothing to fear. Humans are unbelievably strong. It would take nearly the SOUL of every monster.... just to equal the power of a single human SOUL."

The third....

"But humans have one weakness. Ironically it is the strength of their SOUL. It's power allows it to persist outside the human body, even after death."

You paused. Your soul.... could do that? You went to the next.

"If a monster defeats a human, they can take its SOUL.
A monster with a human soul....
A horrible beast with unfathomable power."

The next one was an illustration. It's some kind of monster, you believe. The longer you stare, the more unsettling it becomes. You shiver, clutching the cup, and continue on your way.
