Escape

You sniffed and stuffed a pair of small boots into your bag, tears still rolling down your cheeks. You made your way into the kitchen and grabbed a Tupper ware container, then put a slice of butterscotch pie into it. You had to hurry. Whoever had killed Tori would find this place soon enough, and you'd wasted to much time crying.
You pulled your knife out (your real one) and clutched it in your hand, terrified. You knew you would never be able to use it. But it still made you feel safer.
You ran to Toriel's room and started searching desk drawers until you found a key. You grabbed it and ran downstairs, then pushed the key onto the door. It jammed. You yanked on it. But nothing. "Nononono..." You twisted the key, then yanked it again. It came out. You pushed on the door. When that didn't work, you pulled on it. It groaned, and upstairs you heard a door open. You pulled harder, and a gust of cold wind blew over you as it swung open.
A path, with lots of snow and trees. You ran out and closed the door. You were in a short sleeve shirt, and shorts. The cold bit onto your skin, and you gasped. But you ran down the path anyways, the snow crunching under your feet. You jumped a branch, and paused when you heard it snap. You turned, but there was no one.
You came upon a rickety bridge and stopped. It looked dangerous. You took a deep breath, and-
You heard footsteps. Someone was standing so close to you, that you could feel their breath on your neck.

"Human-"

The door groaned. You spun around and smacked your hands over his mouth. "SHHHHH." You yanked him sideways into the foest, not looking at him. The trees were growing surprisingly close together. You pulled him in and grabbed the front of his jacket, holding him there.

"Um."

"SSHH."

You closed your eyes, breathing hard. You could hear their footsteps. You could hear them stop. But you didn't move.

"Hello?" They yelled.

You heard him take a breath, as if about to say some thing. But you tightened your grip. "Please..." You whispered. He stayed silent.

The person crossed the bridge, and continued on their way. You let out a shivering breath. You finally looked up. "Thank-" You froze.

A skeleton was staring down at you, a funny expression on his face.

".... you..." You swallowed hard. "Umm..." You realized how close you two were. "I'm sorry..."

"No, your good. Do I know you?"

You recognized his voice. "Are you that person I talked to through the door?"

"It would seem so."

"The bone jokes make since now."

"Yep."

You both stared at each other. You fiddled.

He cleared his throat. If he had one...?
"So what's your name, kid?"

"(Y/n). And you are...?"

"Sans. I'm Sans the skeleton. I didn't expect that to be your name."

You frowned. My name isn't Sans... "We should get out of here."

"Why were we hiding in the first place?"

You stepped back onto the path, moving away from him. "Well... I'd rather not talk about it." You pressed your lips together and stared at the ground.

He shrugged. "Okay, pal, then where we're you going in such a rush?"

"Anywhere."

He looked uncomfortable and nervous. "Well, okay miss drama, I have an easy question for you."

You sighed. "Yeah?"

"Why are you here?" He asked, his tone deadly.

You stared at him, and took a step away. "I fell."

"But where's the other human? This isn't right- oh, man, Papyrus is gonna be here soon. Come on."

You follow him over the bridge and to a small clearing in the trees. There is a pile of shattered glass. Sans stares at it.

"Well that just shattered my plans..."

"SANS!"

"Crap."
