"Your brother is really sweet," Mairnette commented as her and Chat Noir left the hospital building to leave Felix to rest.

He was recovering quickly, and after Chat was able to find a nurse for him, she had explained he would be discharged very soon.

I guess that wasn't a bad thing.

"Yeah, I guess." Chat murmured a response for her. He couldn't help but growl at the way Felix acted when Marinette stepped into that room to visit him. All of a sudden, Felix plastered a smile to his lips, and was speaking to her in the most polite way you could possibly talk to someone.

It was sickening when you knew it was all fake.

"Oh Chat!" Mairnette suddenly gasped as she turned to look at him with wide eyes. Chat, in return, gave a worried look, as if something had happened to her, "Those two thieves you caught! Who's keeping them hostage?"

To be completely honest, with everything that was going on, Chat had forgotten the reason why his brother was in the hospital in the first place. He had two captives back at his place, and one other man had been able to escape.

"It's not nothing to be too concerned about," Chat spoke, "My men are keeping an eye on them."

That didn't make Marinette feel any better, "We need to get over there and see who these men are! This could have something to do with the case!"

"You're right," Chat agreed.

Suddenly, Marinette had grabbed his wrist and was tugging him to follow after her, "Let's get going! Felix will be fine without us for now. We have some more important business to attend to."

Chat couldn't help but grin.

Defiantly more important business than Felix.

Chat nodded and quickly followed after her. Trust him if he was to tell you, he didn't mind a bit leaving his brother alone.

They entered the run down hotel complex together, and Chat couldn't help but let a smile tug at his lips as he felt Mairnette cling onto his arm.

Marinette may have been a doctor and is a cop now, but that didn't mean she was never afraid of anything.

So, he let her cling onto him.

He didn't mind it one bit.

"This way," he whispered, pointing down the dark hallway towards the staircase. He began to walk slowly, and Marinette stayed with his pace without saying a word and still clinging to him.

They walked a bit of ways more before Chat stopped in front of a single door. Neither of them spoke a word as Chat tapped on the wooden mass twice.

Marinette could've sworn they waited exactly two seconds before the door was cracked open, and a pair of eyes met Chat's in a heartbeat. Marinette gulped when she noticed the figure's eyes drift towards her for a just a moment before it was back on Chat.

"It's me you idiot," Chat practically hissed at the man, "Let me in."

The man simply nodded and shut the door once again so he could unlock all the locks. Once finished, he opened it up again, but wider, and stepped aside for them to enter.

However, when Chat stepped in with Marinette still clung to his arm, the odd man grabbed ahold of Marinette's wrist suddenly and swiftly, causing her to scream in fright, "Who is this?" The man quickly began to question Chat, "Allowing stowaways?"

"She's no stowaway!" Chat growled, "Release her immediately! How dare you lay a finger on her!"

Marinette was bit surprised at Chat Noir's slight outburst. It was a bit dramatic, don't you agree?

The man quickly released Marinette's wrist, and the bluenette frightfully curled up back into Chat Noir's side, now petrified of whoever could be in this building, "That's no way to treat a lady." Chat than began to scold.

The man suddenly laughed loudly, "And since when have you ever cared to act as a gentlemen, Chat Noir? We all know you'll do whatever it takes to get what you want. Whether it be a man or a woman, you're never a gentleman."

Marinette gulped at that, and suddenly doubt began to pool in her mind.

What did that even mean?

She was almost about to let go of Chat Noir's arm and make some space between them, until Chat quickly responded with something that immediately washed all her doubt away.

"Marinette is different. You'll treat her like a lady while she's here. Is that understood?"

The man didn't bother to argue any longer, and simply nodded instead. Suddenly, he was sticking his hand out towards her before he said, "I apologize for my past behavior. My name is John."

Mairnette shakily reached out for his hand to shake before quickly pulling away from his touch. Chat immediately noticed she was uncomfortable, and cleared his throat to catch John's attention once again.

"Oh, and just so you know," Chat stepped closer to the man, causing him to gulp in fear, "I am deciding to be a gentleman right now by not killing you in front of my friend here." He then narrowed his eyes at John, "Maybe if you speak respectfully towards me, I'll change my mind."

John quickly nodded, and in a second was rushing off to let other men know in the large room that their leader, Chat Noir, had arrived.

Chat Noir began to walk deeper into the room and Marinette quickly scurried after him. A man soon met him half way and whispered something into the feline's ear.

Marinette wished she would've heard.

However, she quickly discovered what it had been about once Chat shook his head, "I will not be taking any type of orders from you. Marinette will accompany me; is that understood?"

"As you wish sir," the man replied.

Then two other men appeared by Chat and Marinette's side, each holding a pistol in their hands. Marinette gulped, practically hoping and praying that those guns would not point in her direction.

"Open the door," Chat instructed John, who simply nodded and began to fiddle the key into the ginormous lock. It soon clicked open, and John was soon removing it from the door handles.

Then, John began to carefully push the door open and the men besides Chat and the bluenette had their pistols ready to shoot whatever was on the other side.

Mairnette room a side glance up at Chat only to find that his expression showed no fear at all. His brows were furrowed and a frown consumed his lips as he watched his men open the door.

Marinette on the other hand was a bit petrified.

Just a bit.

The door was suddenly pushed all the way open and on the other side stood a tall, metaled-bar cage with another two guards beside it with pistols.

And inside the cage lay their two prisoners.
