He stood in front of the altar, fiddling with the tie he didn't know how to tie himself, when the door to the chappell opened.
His lips parted in awe at the beauty God allowed him to lay his eyes upon.
May walked up to him in a floor length dress, that ever so gently sweeped along the floor, long sleeves covering her arms.
She used her long flowy scarf, that had laid over her shoulders for warmth, to drape over her head as she stepped inside.
"Her beauty his enough testimony to proof that you are with us, God, that you take pride in your creation", he whispered under his breath as he watched her walk down the aisle left to the rows of seats.
He held out a hand to her gently kissing the back of her hand. "You're so beautiful", he whispered and she smiled. "Tell that to God, he made me" "Lord?", he shouted to the heavens with a smile, a gleam of joy in his eyes as he looked at her, "Your daughter is beautiful and I'll praise your work every day of my life!"
She laughed and let him pull her a little closer. And as the church bells hit at the full hour, he gently swayed her in a little dance.
May smiled at him and he saw the spark every saved soul carries in her eyes.
It made him joyful. "Would you tie my tie?", he then asked almost sheepish and she nodded.
He handed it to her, looked at her as she popped up his collar and began to tie the knot with willing hands. She pulled the tie tight and fixed up his collar, let her hands run over his shirt and the sides of his suit jacket, before looking up at him, finding him already looking at her.
She looked down, smiling, feeling his hand gently nudging her chin to have her look up again. "Thank you", he said and she blushed.
"Anytime", she mumbled and then felt his hand move to her cheek, feeling his thumb gently tracing over the skin.
"Lord my God, I praise you for your wonderous work. I thank you for allowing me to put my eyes upon a masterpiece like the one you created with May, with the woman you have her be. Please keep your gracious hands on her always, be kind to her and lead her with your light, so her light might shine as brightly before others as it is shining in front of me right now. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.", he whispered, watching her eyes fill with affection and surprise at him praying over her.
She touched his hand on her cheek and closed her eyes. "Lord my God, I thank you for the man you have made of Tramilton", they both smiled, "I thank you for making him kind, I thank you from freeing him from his old life and making him anew. I ask you Lord, please give him a heart that will make him a good, compassionate leader, give him a heart that will praise you for all his days, give him a heart of courage and not of hesitation. Make him be the salt of the earth like your son Jesus Christ commanded of us his followers, healing and preserving the world and the goodness still left in it. Let his testimony bring glory to you all the days of his life. In the name of Jesus, Amen."
"That was powerful", Troy whispered to her. "Once we understand how much power is in our prayer it becomes easier to make them meaningful", she said, "Especially when you care about the subject of the prayer"
He felt his face heat up as he smiled.
"You wanna get going to dinner?", he asked and she nodded, holding onto the arm he offered her, following with a smile on her lips.
