It was a dark and rainy day.
It's been two days since his handy man training session and beside feeling good, Troy didn't feel fulfilled by reading his bible at home or on the train to the college.

He thirsted for more, like his cup wouldn't be filled without going further in his journey with Christ. So this Saturday he went to a chappell close to the college.
It wasn't too big, just able to hold about thirty people at a time. Stained glass windows behind the altar depicting Jesus suffering and his rise from the dead, flooding the room with color as the light of the setting sun fell through them.
There was only one other person there as Troy entered. A woman with a veil covering her head, only allowing a few strands of brownish-black hair to peak out in the front.

Troy immediately knew who she was, silently sat down next to her, both of them staring at the glass mural.
"You too, huh?" "Was a pretty eye opening moment", he whispered and she nodded.
"I heard you met him", she said and now he nodded. "I did and he was so kind", he replied breathlessly, "No human could ever give love like he does" "I met him once before, but I didn't listen, there are lies I couldn't get around and I fled from him, but after what happened", she looked at him, "He took it all away, the guilt, the shame, the lies, the hurt"

He looked at her, a tear rolling down her cheek slowly, her face dipped in the colors of the stained glass as he looked at her and for the first time he didn't he his rival, the made up arch nemesis on the slope.
He saw May. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen, whom he had hurt beyond what was forgivable, because of his own pride. And then she whispered quietly: "I forgive you"
His lip started trembling as he pressed his lips together, eyes filling with tears.
"Thank you", he whispered shakily and she reached for his cheek, the loose veil softly shifting, a strand of hair falling out and framing her face as she wiped his tears.

His hand ever so gently touched hers, his rough palm against the soft back of her hand. "God is so good", he whispered and she smiled, shaking herself as she held back tears, nodding. "He is so merciful"
Carefully Troy touched the side of her head and felt how she gave into his touch as he pulled her into a hug, holding her head.
She settled in his arms, held onto him and silently they sat in God's grace.

"God made you more beautiful then pearls, more precious then rubies and graceful like the breeze that plays with autumn leaves", he whispered and felt her holding onto him tighter, "I feel ashamed for only seeing it now and at the same time I'm so grateful that God changed my heart and made my blind eyes see" "It's so incredible to hear you speak now", she whispered back to him, "He truly changed you, I can't tell that you met him" "And I can tell you met him", he replied, softly letting go, gazing into her eyes, "I see is kindness in your eyes, his grace"
She smiled at him and reached for his hand on her cheek with both of her hands.
"I see his strength in yours and his fire to show others to the truth", she said, "Your testimony is living, breathing proof that we are new beings in Christ Jesus"

His gaze grew in affection, his heart stumbling as he heart her words pouring from her lips like liquid praise to God.
"Do you want to go to dinner with me tomorrow night?", he asked and she blushed, nodded softly. "Do I need to dress up?" "Only if you're ready to tie my tie for me", he chuckled and she smiled. "I'll be dressing up then" "You want to meet here?" "Yes", she replied and gently let go of his hand, standing up, "I'll see you tomorrow, Troy" "Tramilton", he said as she already turned away. "What?", she turned back to him with a smirk. "Tramilton Lougferd", he repeated sheepishly, "Troy is just a nickname" "How did I not know that?" "No one does, you're the first one I told" "Well, then... Good night, Tramilton", she said, her voice warm as it enveloped his name with kindness.

"Good night May", he said, looking after her for a moment, before the door fell closed behind her. He stood up and smiled as he walked up to the altar, getting on his knees  face touching the ground as he praised the Lord with all his heart. Finally feeling like his cup wasn't empty anymore, but overflowing with God's goodness.
