It was the flue season, meaning Elena was very busy and the staff was running short.

Elena went to a room and realized it was her boyfriend Elijah with a sick look.

"Hello Elena!"

"Hey! What's happened? I've just saw you a few hours ago and you were fine. Not like damn you're fine, but fine..." Elena said hating how nervous she could be around Elijah, probably because their relationship was new.

"My body has no fat to protect itself from diseases... Things happen very quickly. Listen to me, it's very important that you replenish my body with electrolytes after every involuntary loss of bodily fluids." Elijah said in a very serious way.

"Oh boy!" Elena said realizing Elijah was one of those people who when got sick felt they were dying.

"My body tends to lose a lot of fluids when it's sick. My brain is on fire. I'm dying."

"Well, you definitely have the flu." Elena said.

"Oh my God! My body is like a microchip. And now the microchip has been compromised."

Elena went to see her friend Caroline who was with Klaus Mikaelson.

"What did you do? It was very cold and now it's too hot!" Caroline asked.

"That's the fever." Klaus said.

"I don't have fever. I'm fineeeed." Caroline yelled.

"When you put a d at the end of fine, you're not fineeee." Klaus said.

"I don't have fever. I don't have the flu. I'm not sick. I'm above all that." Caroline said.

"Let me see." Elena said and measured her temperature.

"You're with high fever and clearly have the flu." Elena said.

"If I was sick could I do this?" Caroline asked without making a move.

"What are you doing?" Elena asked.

"Cartwheels." Caroline said like if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Am I not doing them?"

"Okay. It's time to get you to bed." Klaus said.

"Yeah, it is! Let's do it." Caroline said with a smirk.

"You know what, let's get you some layers." Klaus said attempting to help her.

"No! Let's take off some layers." Caroline said and I left because I was called for another patient who had kidney stone.

Once Elena went to see the patient she saw Bonnie and Kol, who were dating.

"Isn't Bonnie amazing?" Kol said then said. "I want candy!"

"What is he on?" Bonnie asked as Elena looked in the chart.

"Morphine. It's good stuff." Elena smiled.

"Bonnie, come here. Have you any idea how beautiful you are?" Kol asked making Bonnie blush. "I'm serious. You're like a flower... or a snug bug... or a snugger duddle or something like that. We just need to go for it. You know? LIFE!"

Eventually Elena left and went to check on her favorite patient, Elijah Mikaelson, only to find him laying down on the floor.

"What happened?"

"It's fine!" Elijah said.

"You need to get off the floor." Elena said because she couldn't make him get up.

"This floor is my friend!" Elijah said with a smile.

"Come on. Just go to bed... if not for you, for me."

"You know I can't say no to you." Elijah said and laid down in the bed. "By the way, don't tell Elena but I definitely clogged the toilet. For how much I tried to make myself not poop, I couldn't control it. Also, I might have throw up on the drawer..."

Elena couldn't help but smile at how adorable Elijah was and how the flu made him look less intimidating because he always seemed to be perfect and the flu made her see his not perfect side even if it was still cute.
