Chapter 5
(3rd Person)
The False Devil let out a sigh while facing the wall, his hands on said wall while looking down, the room around him was in a state: the desk chair and table both shattered to pieces, the bed split in half, the books that were on the shelf all scattered everywhere, the window cracked but not broken and the wardrobe... in perfect condition, it was the place he regularly placed the trench coat Asia got him after all.
(Y/N): Now that I've got that out of my system, time to go find something else to do... preferably something to hit, cut or even murder... preferably something with either devil genes or a punchable face...
However, his plans were quickly interrupted by someone bursting through the doorway, their large structure literally making the ground shake just from skidding into the room.
Heather: Dear younger brother! I've found you at last!
(Y/N): Where the hell else would I be? I don't even know the way around the place.
Heather: That is true! Now! Come along! I wish for us to explore Heaven's sights while we finally catch up on many years of being apart!
(Y/N): No thanks, I'd rather just stay here, throwing shit angrily everywhere.
Heather: Watch your language younger brother!
(Y/N): Don't tell me what to do, you're someone who claims to be my sister, but, I lost my family years ago, twice.
Heather: W-what?
(Y/N): I'm telling you the reality of this situation: I'm slightly glad not all of my family is dead, but right now you're no more than a stranger, sure, we met when I was younger, but I don't know anything about you, I don't know your personality, dreams, all that. The only things I know are: you're my older sister, your name is Heather and you're a reincarnated angel under Michael's direct service.
Heather: Y-yes, that's very true... but! I'm here now! And I wish to make up for all the lost time I created selfishly. I could've easily gone down to earth to visit... however, if I left even for a visit, I wouldn't be allowed back into heaven. I let my own selfish desire to grow stronger overshadow the human desire to make sure your family is well.
(Y/N) didn't respond, instead he sighed, heading for the door... only to suddenly feel a powerful arm lift him up and literally slam him onto a shoulder.
Heather: Now! No more regrets! I will make sure today is filled with nothing but great things! I will show you just how apologetic an angel can be my dear younger brother!
And with that, everyone was surprised when Heather suddenly blasted through the house, going straight out the doors and running full speed ahead into the deeper parts of Heaven's city.
(Timeskip)
Their first destination appeared to be a shop for clothing, (Y/N) groaned internally, knowing exactly where this was going thanks to experience with Rias dragging him to many stores back on earth.
Heather: Right then! Let us find suitable clothing for my younger brother! As you can see, I'm quite fine with the battle armour I constantly wear!
(Y/N) looked over at his sister, looking over the battle armour she wore along with the helmet still under her arm. He sighed, looking away with his eyes rolled.
(Y/N): You look a knight, are you sure you have any fashion sense?
Heather: Says the one wearing a combination of a tank top and a black trench coat...
(Y/N): I at least look normal in normal clothing, you however look like someone who loves cosplay so much that it's the only thing they could wear. That or a former knight who was discharged, has no money and now only has their armour to wear. You'll easily stand out with armour, get some normal clothes or I'm heading back to the mansion.
Heather: Can you even find your way back younger brother?
(Y/N): I'm not horrible with directions, Heather, I can easily retrace your steps.
Heather grumbled, heading further into the store where instantly some clerks were at her side, giving out recommendations, (Y/N) just kept at the entrance, hands in his trench coat pockets while leaning against the wall near the doors. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw an angel approaching him, her clothing showing she is an employee of the store. She stopped on his left with a bright smile, her aura bright just as angels should be.
Angel: Good afternoon sir, may I show you some recommendations?
(Y/N): Don't have any money on me, besides, it's my sister who's getting clothes, I'm fine just as I am.
The angel nodded, however, she didn't seem to leave his side... instead, she seemed really happy about something, (Y/N) could tell from the way her feet kept bouncing on the spot while staring at him with that huge smile. It was only a matter of time before (Y/N) turned his head to face her, an annoyed look on his face.
(Y/N): What?
Angel: Oh, it's just... well... um...
She was now shifting, looking away with her hands now behind her back, (Y/N) was both annoyed and curious by this sudden change in attitude, he was close to just walking away to avoid being anymore annoyed however...
Angel: Please! Could I take a picture!?
The False Devil was surprised by the angel suddenly pulling out a camera from behind her back, her face filled with both pleading and determination while staring up at (Y/N) who simply looked down, now confused and still annoyed.
(Y/N): Of what? The store? Heather?
Angel: Of you! Sir False Devil!
(Y/N): Sir...?
Angel: I'm sure you're unaware, but your actions have been told of not just in the Underworld, but up here in heaven as well! Every angel knows about how a human who possesses the powers of a devil, and not just any power, but a power that can only be found in either nobles or high-ranking devils! You're basically a celebrity up here, even if Michael doesn't personally agree with your ways.
(Y/N): A celebrity huh?
Heather: Exactly...
The angel squeaked in fear upon seeing Heather's towering body with her arms crossed, a dark look on her face while her wings were again slowly turning black as she glared at the girl from behind (Y/N).
Heather: And (Y/N) would appreciate it if you didn't bother him... ok?
Angel: Y-y-yes Ma'am!
She quickly scurried off, too afraid to stand in her presence any longer as (Y/N) sighed, turning and nudging Heather slightly with his elbow.
(Y/N): Could you stop being so overprotective? If you keep doing this to every female I talk to, I'll look like a tyrant who uses his big sister to scare girls off.
Heather: Until I approve of them, they're not allowed anywhere near you, got it? You never know which of these girls are after you just for your power. I can tell that both the Gremory and her black-haired Queen piece are two who're only after you for your power.
(Y/N): They're devils, they're naturally attracted to strength, just don't act like this to EVERY girl, unless they're devils, if they're devils you have my permission to either: scare the shit out of them, murder them, torture them or all of the above.
Heather: Phew, at least that's one thing we have in common: we both can't stand devils.
(Y/N): About the only thing apart from being blood-related.
Heather: That isn't true! We are also honourable warriors!
(Y/N): Honourable warriors? Look Heather, in fights, you can show honour all you want, but at the end of the day, you'd lose if you kept being this honourable because there will be that one opponent who isn't afraid of being a coward. In fights, I use everything I can to win, so no, I'm not honourable.
Heather: Well um... we were both reincarnated as supernatural beings!
(Y/N): I'm still human, the only devil in me is the part that lets me use Evil Energy.
Heather suddenly grew quiet, nervously looking around before perking up quickly once again.
Heather: Food! We should get some food! I know a wonderful location! Let's go!
Before (Y/N) could even begin to answer, he was already hoisted onto her shoulder, being carried away by the speedy Heather who barged past pretty much everyone in the streets outside.
(Timeskip)
In front of (Y/N), there sat an assortment of foods ranging from an omelette to what appeared to be a whole cooked lobster in a salad. He stared at the food before looking up and across the table from Heather who was smiling widely, her arms spread wide at the amount of food on the table.
Heather: I had no idea what your preferences are, however, I know there's at least one thing you must enjoy out of this pile! So go ahead and dig in! I've got this with the amount of money I have earned in my career as both an arena fighter and as Michael's Queen card!
(Y/N) kept silent, observing the food table while Heather started feeling nervous once again as she couldn't get a reaction out of her brother, however, she almost sighed in relief at seeing (Y/N) reach over, grabbing what appeared to be a chicken leg and biting into it.
Heather: Umm... how is it? Dear brother?
(Y/N): You got good cooks at least, I'll give heaven that.
Heather grew a massive smile, mentally cheering at the small victory before she too reached out, grabbing the whole lobster and devouring it in just one bite making (Y/N) blink in surprise at his sister... before he could even react, she had already cleared about half the table and was stuffing it down her throat while (Y/N) was only just finishing up his chicken leg and reaching out for another, he managed to secure another three pieces before Heather took everything else, shoving it into her mouth and instantly gobbling all the food down into her stomach.
Heather: Oh! That was excellent!
(Y/N): Yeah... good...
Heather: Oh my goodness! I apologise! I let my carnal desires get the best of me! I don't deserve my angel status for I've committed the sin of greed!
(Y/N): No, I'm sure Michael's gotten used to this by now, after all, your wings are still pure white...
Heather: Ah! That is true! Thank you dear brother for reminding me of Lord Michael's kindness!
(Y/N): Sure...
After a few minutes, Heather then dragged (Y/N) around to all sorts of places: a cinema, an arcade and even some stores where they sold things like DVDs, comics and even some action figures...
(Timeskip)
At the end of the day, the two siblings were standing outside the mansion, one had their arms filled with all the things she bought, ranging from clothes to her favourite comic series, the other was simply sighing, hoping he could get to bed soon while scratching the back of his head.
Heather: Today was extravagant, right, dear brother?
(Y/N): Sure, Heather, we'll go with that?
Heather: Did you not enjoy today? I apologise, I shall make arrangments for another...
(Y/N): Just how far are you willing to go?
Heather: What?
(Y/N): I already told you before: you may be my sister, but, you're no more than a stranger to me. Sure, we've hung out and gotten to know each other, but, does that really make up for it? I discovered that all these years I thought I was alone, that all my family is dead, that there were actually two members left: one is an evil overlord who wants to rule everything, the other is a high-ranking angel.
Heather: What are you...?
(Y/N): I'm saying both you and Adam could've come got me at any time, you both were there, and you both could've been by my side, raising me, teaching me, caring for me. It's stupid I know, but... I feel like I can't forgive you for leaving me alone for all those years... the only thing that kept me going was...
Heather: Was?
(Y/N): Her name is Asia, she's the one person who has stuck by my side forever, she was the one who learned beside me, she was the one who looked after me, she was the one person I could call family... whenever I think of someone I want to spend the rest of my life with, only Asia can pop in my head.
(Y/N) turned to Heather, a look seriousness in his eyes while his glare burned right into Heather.
(Y/N): We may be related by blood, but, don't mistake that as some sort of right to be the one who can be the closest to me. You abandoned me, you weren't there when I needed you the most, Heather.
Heather: You're right...
She dropped everything she was holding, her hands were instead reaching out and holding (Y/N) in an embrace which caught him off guard.
Heather: You're completely and utterly right... that's why...
He felt something wet hitting his shoulders, quickly running down his body as he instantly realised his big sister, the always smiling and always positive idiot was now crying her eyes out... and yet... she was still smiling even with tears going down her face.
Heather: That's why... when you say it, directly... it hurts me, more than anyone else could. I realise I've been, the worst sister in the world, I abandoned you, I betrayed you, I left you to fend for yourself. I know that just one day out won't fix our bond, but... as long as both you and I are still with beating hearts, I will spend my entire life begging and pleading for your forgiveness... the day I do get your forgiveness, I can finally rest easy, knowing my little brother is fine without me...
(Y/N) again didn't respond, nor did he hug his sister back, instead he stood still while Heather continued to pour her tears out, even throwing in a few apologies while tightening the hold she had on (Y/N).
(Timeskip)
Phillip: You wish for the training to start tomorrow?
(Y/N): Or as soon as possible, I just need to get stronger...
Phillip: I admire your enthusiasm Sir False Devil, however, Holy Wrath is best prepared before being learned, in other words, if we rush your lessons, you may suffer permanent damage.
Francine: Father, if he wishes to learn it now, why not give it to him? If I recall, when he first discovered his Evil Energy, he was able to create a single wing on the spot, and he hasn't suffered any permanent damage. I believe he's capable of learning Holy Wrath faster than anyone else in heaven.
Phillip: Hmm, I'm not sure Francine, I would hate to see Sir (Y/N) hurt beyond repair, it would both damage our chances in the war against Adam and it would upset everyone, myself included greatly.
(Y/N): Just do it already.
Francine: Father, please.
Phillip: Hmm... oh, fine! In the morning, you shall meet me outside the mansion, we will head to a secluded area where no one can bother us!
(Y/N): Good.
The two shook each other's hands, a smile on Phillip's face whereas (Y/N) had a blank expression. Suddenly, Francine appeared in front of him, an apologetic smile on her face.
Francine: I'm unaware of anything I've done to insult you, however, I'm very sorry about it, may we start over as friends? My name is Francine Foster, it's very nice to meet you, Sir False Devil.
She stuck her hand out, (Y/N) scowled slightly, however, he reached a hand out. As soon as their palms touched, (Y/N) went wide-eyed, backing off instantly as his scowl deepened.
(Y/N): Francine Foster... you want to make up for insulting me, right?
Francine: Uhh... yes, of course! Did you... have something in mind?
(Y/N) suddenly placed his fist under her chin surprising even Phillip who was usually all smiles just like Heather.
(Y/N): Yeah, I've got something... what I want... is for you to meet me in the arena tomorrow, we're going to fight, got it?
To be continued...
(A/N): Phew! That's another one done! I've only got one more week in Uni and then I can go on my Easter Holidays! Yippee! Oh! But, I should tell you guys and gals, the first week of the Easter Holidays, there might be a bit of a delay before any chapters because I'm heading to Edinburgh with my family for that week! Anyways, thank you guys and gals so much for the continued support and as always: eat one or more brownies every day!!!!
