Chapter 17
(3rd Person)
(Y/N) almost instantly made his Evil Energy wings reappear and was about to charge straight for Phillip... however, Phillip easily saw that coming and had a plan.
Phillip: Francine! How dare you! The False Devil is a traitor!
To Phillip's surprise, (Y/N) didn't stop, instead he socked the bastard right in the face sending him flying. Everyone who suddenly turned their heads to the shouts were instantly assuming Phillip was indeed correct.
(Y/N): You are one sick asshole. First you keep her true personality hidden, then you kill her? Why!? What the hell did she ever do to you!?
Phillip: That's... what I should be asking you... False Devil!
The fighting had long since stopped, everyone who fought before was now gathered around the scene: (Y/N) standing over Phillip while Francine laid dead behind him, a hole in her head and a hole in her stomach. What everyone failed to realise when looking at the body however was the fact that the necklace, the Relic of Grace was glowing faintly with (Y/N)'s earring copying the activity of said trinket.
Azazel: Kid! What happened!?
Michael: It appears he's murdered Miss Foster, I should've known he wasn't to be trusted.
Sirzechs: Yet, from his posture, it seems he's much angrier than Phillip.
Serafall: Well, he is an angry guy!
Phillip: I... I saw those two talking, the False Devil and my precious daughter. And then... he said something about how he's tired of working for angels, he then used his Evil Energy and stabbed her! He made sure she wouldn't regenerate! Then, when I tried to alert you all, he attacked me!
(Y/N): Should've known you were a snake the second I met you, your energy was the thing that killed her! The chat part was true, everything else was wrong!
Michael: (Y/N)... you are being protected by the spell, meaning you can lie. Phillip however is an angel, therefore he cannot lie in heaven otherwise he falls.
(Y/N): Then the asshole's using the same kind of magic, he's the one who killed Francine, not me!
Rias: (Y/N) would never do it! Even if she isn't Asia, the fact that he's being accused of someone who looks like Asia is preposterous! He loves Asia more than anyone in this world, he wouldn't kill the person who has her appearance!
Issei: That's right! He may be an asshole, but no way he'd go as far as to kill someone like her! She has Asia's face, Asia's voice, only her personality wasn't on point! If (Y/N) killed Francine, then I'm just a normal highschool kid who isn't a pervert!
Yubelluna: I do not believe for a second he would harm her.
The rest of (Y/N)'s peerage nodded in agreement, instantly trying to flock to his side, only to be stopped by Sirzechs.
Sirzechs: If you stay beside him, you'll end up with the status of a criminal too.
Rias: Too!? Big brother... you're not...!
Sirzechs: As much as I would like to investigate, Michael is correct. There is no possibility Phillip could lie, magic forces people to be honest, especially when it comes to Heaven. (Y/N)... I am disappointed.
(Y/N): Oh screw off, I never liked you from the start so I don't give a shit if I disappoint. I'm more disappointed you guys can believe this asshole in the first place.
Phillip: How dare you! I loved my daught-
(Y/N): YOU TREATED HER LIKE A FUCKING SCIENCE PROJECT!
Everyone jumped back at that statement, stunned enough that they didn't stop (Y/N) walking up to Francine's body, placing a hand on it.
(Y/N): You turned her into a guinea pig, locking away her personality, torturing with her emotions. Embedding fear of you into her, not to mention you kept her powers a secret. You practically played with her life like she was your creation...
Again, everyone failed to notice as the light coming from the necklace glowed brighter, along with the earring (Y/N) owned. He turned to face Phillip, anger and fury the only emotions written across his face.
(Y/N): She had a life, and you threw it away because you were too curious to find out what would happen if you played God in someone else's life!
Suddenly, the necklace exploded in white light blinding everyone there. Through the light, the necklace flew off Francine's necklace and (Y/N)'s earring ripping itself out, causing his ear to start bleeding before the two pieces of jewellery slammed against each other, causing another explosion of white light that blinded everyone once more.
After a minute, the white light finally died down and everyone was quick to open their eyes. They went wide-eyed at what they saw. (Y/N) opened his eyes, only to grow his frown once he saw everyone's stunned eyes which were trained on him.
(Y/N): What!?
He walked forward, only to notice something as a light appeared above him. (Y/N) looked up quickly, but the light moved to the back of his head. He spun around, again the light was behind him, he growled and proceeded to try and find the light that was just out of his vision.
(Y/N): What is that!?
He shouted this while spinning around in circles, attempting to find the source and temporarily amusing the crowd. Michael stepped forward, placing a hand on his chest, his face scrunched it what seemed to be sadness.
Michael: Oh my lord... why would you pick such an unfavourable host?
On top of (Y/N)'s head, a single bright halo had appeared, though... its colour seemed much brighter to that of a normal angel.
(Y/N): Oi! Spit it out! What's that light!? I... I... hang on... wasn't my ear supposed to be ripped?
The boy felt his ear, only to feel no hole, not even a speck of blood on him. He blinked in surprise and looked up to everyone.
(Y/N): My earring... it...
Michael: It merged with... the other half...
(Y/N): What?
Sirzechs: The other half of the soul of a God. In other words, you had two Deity Relics on you this whole time, the Relic of Corruption, and half of the Relic of Grace. That's the reason why neither Francine nor Phillip were able to ever use the Relic of Grace: it was only half, an incomplete power. It would've killed everything just like the union of Holy Wrath and Evil Energy would.
(Y/N): So... this light on top of my head.
Azazel: Is the Relic of Grace, the purest form the Relic could take: a halo.
(Y/N): I'm... an angel?
Serafall: No, you just have the halo because you now own the Relic of Grace. You're still human after all.
Phillip: B-b-but... a person wielding two relics is...
Sirzechs: Impossible... the power would be too much. You can survive holding two Deity Relics... that must mean you are a true host. The one prophesied... oh hell the true host is a kid with a vendetta against devils...
Before anyone else could talk, (Y/N) suddenly disappeared. Phillip jumped when he felt someone grip his shoulder.
(Y/N): Hey there... now that I've got this figured out, how about you tell me something? The reason for her death, it's not anything to do with her, is it? In fact, I can feel it now that I have the Relic of Grace: you hate me, you hate me so much you want to ruin my life. Why is that? Mister fallen angel?
Phillip: How did you know?
(Y/N): The Relic of Grace is powerful, but out of the four Relics. It's the most useless in combat, sure it can heal wounds, but it can't corrupt souls like the sword can. Can't give you immortality like the Relic of Immortality can, and it certainly can't give you an undying will like the Relic of Willpower. Instead, I can see people's true intentions and identities. It's a sort of lie detector. After all, no one can lie to something that is literally Grace itself.
Phillip: You... killed... my wife...
(Y/N): Your wife... holy crap... your wife was.
Phillip: Raynare.
With that name, (Y/N)'s teeth gritted in anger. And to the shock of everyone present, his Evil Energy wing suddenly appeared, forming into a blade and slicing Phillip's head off. The head fell through the clouds along with the body.
Vali: Holy shit...
Michael: Now you've committed another crime, it looks like Mr Foster was correct...
Michael stopped talking after being surprised by (Y/N) disappearing again. He looked around but couldn't find him anywhere, so he used his magic... and to his surprise...
Michael: He... he has left Heaven.
Cue the wide eyes from everyone as they realised: (Y/N) broke through a spell made by Michael himself, a man who was supposed to govern the whole of Heaven.
(Timeskip)
Rias and her peerage were back in the ORC club, it has been a full three days since (Y/N)'s 'betrayal', everyone sat around silently while staring at the ground. Koneko had her ears and tail out but they were flattened from her emotions, Kiba kept staring out the window while sharpening his sword. Akeno absentmindedly searched for a book in the bookshelf, Xenovia sighed, mumbling something about how a suitable man had disappeared before she could ask him something... finally, Rias was at her desk, looking at the wanted poster the Underworld just made for (Y/N).
He was classified as a highly dangerous criminal, responsible for the murder of the Foster family and the reward for him captured dead or alive was enough to set up anyone for their lives and their children's lives.
Rias: He wouldn't do it.
That was the one thing Rias kept mumbling in sadness, clutching her desk tightly and almost breaking it a few times (They've already had to replace two other desks...).
The door suddenly slammed open, low and behold, it was the pervert who had a look of irritation on his face.
Issei: No sign of him at home, nor his peerage. Wherever's he's gone, I'll find him and bring him back! He's alone and he needs us!
No one responded, Issei gritted his teeth in anger as the memory played in his head once more: the accusation, (Y/N) murdering Phillip right in front of them. And most importantly... the name Phillip whispered which he was sure only he and (Y/N) heard.
Issei: That scumbag... he basically ruined (Y/N)'s relationship with the Underworld. He turned him into a criminal for revenge! Damn him! If it wasn't for him (Y/N) would've found Asia by now, and he would've... would've... damn it!
Again no reaction as Issei tossed a table across the room, missing Akeno who hummed while picking out a book finally.
Issei: If it wasn't for that bastard, (Y/N) would've been right here helping everyone!
Rias: What are you going to do? Kill him? (Y/N)'s already taken care of that, it doesn't matter if you want revenge on Phillip Foster Issei, what matters is where (Y/N) is hiding.
Issei: I know... but... I can't find him or his peerage anywhere!
Silence loomed over the clubroom, everyone once again returned to their own thing and Issei stormed out the room, determined to find (Y/N) once again.
(Location Unknown)
A single child walked a dark street, he was clutching onto his coat which barely fit him and was in tatters. He coughed into his hands, showing blood which made him frown.
Boy: I... should've known...
Suddenly, a pair of fallen angel wings appeared on the boy's back and he coughed once again, this time vomiting up blood as the moon revealed deep wounds on his stomach and chest. He could then hear muffled shouting which made him gasp in fear before taking off.
Several people appeared, all of them had fallen angel wings and shouted louder once they spotted the boy turning a corner before they gave chase. The boy ran down the alleyway, his breathing heavily while he could barely guide himself through the darkness. He turned another corner, planting his back against the wall while sighing heavily and then coughing up blood once again.
Boy: Please... God, Satan, anyone... I don't care who, please save me! Please help me!
Unfortunately, his cries for help were heard by the wrong kind as the fallen angels appeared in front of him, he yelped, crawling painfully backwards and leaving a trail of blood while the fallen angels smirked.
Fallen angel 1: Looks like he's all worn out. What a pathetic little wimp.
Fallen angel 2: He's the bastard son of a devil and a fallen angel, what do you expect?
Boy: No...
Fallen angel 1: No point calling for help, no one's around for miles. That's how it is in the slums little runt!
The other fallen angels chuckled, cracking their knuckles and each of them forming light spears ready to attack. The boy was now starting to black out, he slumped against the cold hard floor, looking up at the number of lights that appeared in his vision... just as he started to close his eyes, he saw another light appear. However, this one was a different shape than the others...
Boy: A... halo...
And then the boy was surprised to see the halo grow devil wings and then charge at the fallen angels with a sword drawn.
(With Ophis)
Ophis stood atop the rooftop, looking down at the scene of the boy being rescued by the person with a halo and devil wings. The bodies of the fallen angels all sliced apart from the sword which he quickly sheathed.
Ophis: Hmph... maybe now after being treated like a criminal, he can see how the world is... and then join me at last.
Behind Ophis, a number of devils, angels and fallen angels waited patiently which caused her to turn, a blank look on her face.
Ophis: First... we recruit the false devil... then... we show the world how corrupt it really is...
To be continued......... In Volume 4.
(A/N): And finish! Whew, that was quite different from any other ending I've written. Hope it doesn't seem too rushed! Right! Next on the list: the votes for the next book! Now that this book is finally finished, that means the votes are closed too! The choices for the new book were: Attack on Titan, Overlord, Rosario Vampire or Akame Ga Kill. And... I can reveal the winner is: Akame Ga Kill! It was close, but with one vote ahead Akame Ga Kill won the votes, time for the main character (You of course), to hang out with some assassins! Anyways, thank you guys and gals so much for the awesome continued support and as always: eat one or more brownies every day!!!!!!!!
