Chapter 5
Jesse's POV
"Hey sis, you want to come and watch TV with Petra and I?" I asked, knocking on Jess's door. I stood outside waiting for a few seconds before I got sick of it and just opened it. Yeah, I know she'll kill me and probably give me some stupid lecture about respecting people's privacy but whatever...
"Jess, you wanna come watch-" I stopped mid-sentence when I realised Jess wasn't in her room. "Jess?!" I asked again, earning no reply. Where could she be?! I headed out of her room and into Lukas's, checking if she was there. Nope. His room was empty.
"JESS?!" I checked everyone's room but she wasn't anywhere. I headed downstairs and decided to check the kitchen. "Jesse, what's wrong?" I spun around to see a confused Petra in the hallway.
"Have you seen Jess?" I asked her, completely ignoring her question.
"Isn't she in her room?" Petra replied, giving me a more confused look.
"I-I checked, she's not there..and all the other rooms, the kitchen, bathroom, and-"
"Woah Jesse, calm down...." Petra cut me off, causing me to take a deep breath and try to relax. "I did hear some footsteps outside of Jess's room, but I thought they were just possums or something..." Petra added, causing me to look up. "Come on let's check if she's out there," I said, standing up and walking outside, Petra following.
We stepped out of the front door, the cool breeze hitting me, making me relax a bit. While we were heading towards Jess's window, I couldn't help but stare at Petra. Her red hair, her beautiful eyes, her amazing and brave personality.....she was so perfect in my eyes. I have to admit, I have a crush on her. Ever since she saved me from the spider, I couldn't help but daydream about her everyday, but I never had enough courage to go up to her and confess.
"Look! There's footprints!" Petra said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked at where Petra was pointing to; a trail of footprints heading towards the woods. "Why would Jess be going there?" I asked, completely confused. "Well...maybe she was going after Lukas..." Petra answered quietly, carefully examining them. "Great...." I said, as I leaned on a tree. I was not in the mood for exploring right now, especially since it's sunset. Mobs could come out any second!
After a while, I finally said, "Let's go find her..." I stood up straight again and Petra nodded as we followed the trail of footprints.
Jess's POV
"P-Pama?!...." I said in shock, my voice trembling. "I-I got rid of y-you..." I said quietly, looking at the massive screen. "You can never get rid of me.." Pama replied in his annoying robot voice. I was lost for words. I didn't know what to do at this moment. Should I help Lukas? Should I fight Pama? Maybe I need to head back since it's getting dark....
"What do you want Pama?" I asked him coldly, glaring at him. Pama's face turned confused for a second, then he simply said, "Revenge! Do you think that after ripping out my heart that I'll just forget it?! You left me there to die! And now I'm back, for revenge..." I looked at him, some parts of me scared.
"What do you want with Lukas?..." I asked quietly, my mind filled with questions.
"I need information from him..." Pama answered proudly and angrily, "He's read and written so many books so he's got HEAPS of information of this stupid world in his dumb brain..."
I felt tears coming as I tried to blink them back. "Just leave him alone....." I said under my breath, looking down.
"Well I suppose I could, since I've already got the information, but what's the fun in that?" Pama replied.
"Please...just let him go...." I pleaded, tears threatening to fall.
"Only in one condition..." Pama said, a huge smirk spreading all over his stupid, ugly, disgusting computer screen.
"What is it?..." I asked, getting nervous.
"I get to make you useful," Pama answered simply, like it was no big deal.
"What?!" I almost screamed out, completely shocked and surprised.
"You heard me...so what's your answer? Yes or no?" My hearted pounded fast as I tried to think. Should I do it? It could save Lukas, even though I'll be risking my life. But who cares? Lukas is important right now. Not me. I took a few deep breaths before I finally made my decision.
"I-" I began, but soon got cut off when I heard footsteps and voices. Familiar voices....to be exact, Jesse and Petra's voices. Pama had an anxious expression on his face as he whispered, "Meet here tomorrow, same time, and tell me your answer..."
"W-wait!" I yelled out, but it was too late. Pama's screen disappeared, causing a huge explosion, sending Lukas and I flying back. I let out a small scream as I landed, the pain striking through my body. I winced and tried standing up, to see if Lukas was okay, but my legs wouldn't cooperate. I collapsed back onto the dirt floor, groaning. I felt my eyelids getting heavy as everything turned black.
992 words//Okay so I'm getting a lot of requests and I try to do most of them, but it's really hard since I've got to fit so many things in one chapter. I'm really sorry if you suggested something and I didn't do it, hopefully I'll do it in the next chapter. :)
