Chapter 6

Anderson made sure to waste no time. He grabbed her arm harshly and dragged her inside their house. After slamming the door, he threw her on the floor and glared directly into her eyes.

"Now where did you run off to?" He asked holding her hands behind his back. Catra sat up and winced when she felt a sharp pain in her side.

"I ran off to..." She paused, looking down. I can't tell him about Adora and the other girl. I don't want them getting hurt. She raised her head and saw that his glare didn't change.

"In the woods." She said causing Anderson's brows to relax, slightly.

"Disgusting, don't do that again. Take a shower and come back, we have much to discuss from your... attitude." He hissed walking away and into his office. Catra took in a deep breath before forcing herself to stand up. She sucked up the aching pain in her side and walked up the stairs.

After taking her clothes out she took a shower. She left the bathroom and soon her bedroom to go downstairs and into her father's office. Anderson turned his head and crossed his legs while leaning back on his chair.

"Now. What do you have to say for yourself?" Anderson asked crossing his arms. I meant every single word I said. Catra thought but saying that would basically be a death sentence.

"My apologies for talking back father. I had no intention of raising my voice or saying what I did."

"And?" Ander snapped leaning forward in his chair. Catra forced down a rude remark and hung her head low.

"What I said was a lie." She muttered.

"What was that?" Anderson asked in a teasing tone causing Catra's hands to ball up.

"Everything I said was a lie father." She repeated louder than the last. Anderson grinned, uncrossed his legs, and stood up.

"That's what I thought, get back to your room, you are not permitted to leave until the end of the day." He said placing his hand on her shoulder and giving it a tight squeeze. Catra nodded glumly so he moved his hand.

"Good. Do not ever talk back to me like did last night." He warned in a threatening tone. Catra gulped nervously and nodded before turning around and exiting the office in a hurry. She rushed upstairs, stumbling a few times, and into her bedroom. She closed the door silently and slid down the door.

"I'm such a screw up," Catra choked out pulling her knees to her chest. She buried her head in her knees and bit her bottom lip to stop herself from crying. Suddenly a slip of paper fell from her pocket changing her center of attention.

"What's that?" She picked up the slip and unfolded it.

Hey scum, felt bad about your situation at home. Here's my number, text me and I'll give you Adora's as well!
-Glimmer

Catra smiled and fumbled with her phone. She unlocked messages and typed in Glimmer's phone number.

Catra:
Glimmer? This you?

Glimmer:
Sup Scum, as promised ***-***-****

Catra:
Thanks

Catra wasted no time and quickly Adora. Adora responded pretty quickly with filled Catra will joy. She stood up and went over to her chair before sitting down. All the way until late afternoon Catra texted with Adora and the two got a chance to know each other.

Catra:
It's been fun but my parents will be coming in soon and I don't want to lose you

Catra:
*your number typo

Adora:
Haha, I'm fine with either one. But I understand, Glimmer told me about your life at home. I'll talk to you later!

Catra:
You too,

Catra shut her phone off with a large smile on her face. She laid her phone on the desk and opened her notebook just as the door opened.

"Catra, dinner is ready. Your parents are expecting an apology from you." Aubrey said poking her head through the door. Catra looked up and scanned Aubrey up and down. She felt her eyes widen and her cheeks became hot pink.

"Catra?"

"Huh? Yeah yeah of course I just, got distracted that's all. Thanks, Aubrey," Catra said turning her back to the maid. Aubrey nodded and closed the door. Catra stood up and searched her closet for another suit to wear. Once she changed she hid her phone in the cushion of her mattress she left her room and walked downstairs.

She glanced over at her parents and took in a deep breath before sitting down. Both of them turned their heads to her which caused Catra anxiety. She looked at both of them before Beatrix nodded.

"My sincerest apologies for how I acted yesterday. I had no right to raise my voice the way I did at you two. Running away made the situation even worst, which was very stupid of me. Everything I said came out of the heat of the moment, meaning none of it was true. Can you accept my apology?" Catra said rubbing her sweaty hands together from under the table. Bea looked at Anderson for approval. He turned his head to his daughter and nodded.

"We accept your apology," Anderson said causing Catra to smile. She was glad her father accepted that. The rest of the night they ate in silence.

The next day during her lunch break she spent her time exploring her home, looking for possible exits. She wanted to see the two girls, mostly Adora, again so she wanted to create a plan that allows her to sneak out at night. By the end of her lunch break, she had made a decent plan.

Catra laid in her bedroom on her phone texting Adora. Adora was telling Catra how school worked and Catra was fascinated. She wanted to go so badly, sadly she knew she'd never get that chance.

Catra:
You get to have more than one teacher?

Adora:
Yeah. Sometimes it's annoying because you have to worry about teachers you hate.

Catra:
That sounds amazing! I've only had one teacher for my whole life.

Adora:
Really? Man, that sucks, do you only learn one subject too?

Catra:
No, I learn pretty much everything

Adora:
Really? You must be a literal genius!

Catra:
Not really, I wouldn't call myself smart. My parents don't think I'm smart

Adora:
What!? Well that's dumb

Catra:
They're not!

Catra:
Sorry

Adora:
It's fine, are you ok?

Catra:
I have to go, I'll see you later

Catra quickly shut her phone off and facepalmed. That was so stupid of me, especially since I lied. My parents can be pretty stupid. Catra shook her head and glanced outside it had gotten dark. She didn't mind though, her father banned her from eating dinner tonight for her behavior. He felt his punishment on her was too light.

Soon a few more hours past and everyone was asleep except Catra. She grabbed a rope she found from the garage and tied it against the leg of her bed. She opened her window and slipped out her room, still holding onto the rope. When she reached the bottom she looked around before climbing up the fence and falling to the floor.

"Thank god for my consistent exercises." She huffed catching her breath for a second. She ran through the woods avoiding branches and mud. She looked up and finally saw Adora's house causing her to smile. She swiped sweat from her forehead before approaching the door and knocking.

Adora and Mara looked up from the couch. Adora glanced at Mara confusingly but that didn't stop Mara from standing up. She went over to the door and opened it. Adora glanced over from the couch and her eyes widened.

"Catra?"
