Chapter 5

Glimmer smiled and her arms dropped to her side.

"Hey Adora, now what were you doing that you couldn't open the door?" Glimmer asked skeptically leaning forward. Adora stepped back nervously and struggled to think of something.

"Also are you home alone?" Glimmer added after noticing the peaceful atmosphere. Adora nodded which caused Glimmer to grin.

"Finally, have you gone through his room yet? Get revenge!" Glimmer said, sparkles practically appearing in her eyes.

"Not yet, thanks for the reminder though," Adora said while Glimmer took her shoes off. She squeezed the water out of her hair before following Adora into the living room. Before she could sit down she noticed two plates on the coffee table.

"Adora..." Glimmer muttered as the blonde looked up.

"Hm?"

"Are you feeding rats again?" Glimmer asked motioning towards the plates. Adora burst into laughter.

"No Glimmer! He ran away the other day," Adora said scratching her hair. Glimmer nodded but still didn't sit down.

"I'm going to the bathroom, don't forget about our plans!" Glimmer shouted as she walked up the stairs. Adora gave her a thumbs up before paying attention to the TV. Glimmer walked through the halls and opened Adora's bedroom door.

"Now who are you hiding?" She mumbled stepping inside and looking around. She checked the closet, the bed and the desk but nobody was there. Glimmer left and did the same to the other rooms but nobody was there.

Glimmer rubbed her hair confusingly before snapping her fingers. She entered the bathroom and closed the door. She approached the shower curtain before forcing it to the side. Catra looked up sleepily and locked eyes with Glimmer.

"Huh, are you-"

"OH MY GOSH!!" Glimmer screamed running outside.

"GLIMMER!?" Adora yelled running up the stairs and stopped outside the bathroom.

"What happened-"

"DID YOU KIDNAP CATRA!? THE CATRA!?" Glimmer shrieked shaking Adora's shoulders. Adora chuckled as Catra stepped out of the tub.

"Not exactly-"

"Yes, you did," Catra said exiting the bathroom with her arms crossed.

"It was raining! You could've gotten sick!" Adora argued moving her arms for emphasis. Catra rolled her eye with a huff.

"I'd rather be sick," She mumbled but Adora shook her head.

"Yet you wouldn't leave earlier to go home?" Adora smugly said crossing her arms with a victorious grin. Catra went to answer but stopped and scoffed.

"Fine, maybe I will go outside!" Catra said stomping downstairs. Adora's eyes widened as she grabbed Catra's arm.

"Don't! You can stay longer, I just don't want you being out there." Adora said moving her hand.

"Adora has a point, from here to your house is a very long walk." Glimmer added. Catra looked down and huffed before turning around.

"Fine. I just have one question." She said and the two girls nodded. Catra pointed to Adora, more specifically her hair.

"Why is it so short?"

"Why is yours?" Glimmer snapped defensively. Adora held Glimmer back knowing the gremlin would start a fight without thinking.

"Because my father says it shows masculinity. He said he's always wanted a son so he insists on me wearing clothes suited for men." Catra said crossing her arms again. Glimmer's eyes widened and so did Adora's.

"Oh, that sucks. I just admired hairstyles like this so I wanted to try it." Adora said running a hand through her hair.

"Yeah it suits you too," Glimmer added supportively. Glimmer is Adora's best friend and she is always the first person to support Adora. Adora smiled before looking back at Catra who seemed to have gotten uncomfortable.

"So-"

"Do you want to stay over?" Glimmer asked cutting Adora off. However, Adora didn't mind Glimmer's suggestion and looked over to Catra for her approval.

"Ugh, do I have a choice." She grumbled going downstairs. Adora followed her and Glimmer did the same.

"Well, you could go back outside." Glimmer suggested making Catra roll her eyes. She didn't want to be stuck here with those two, especially Glimmer. She hated her already.

"No- stop cornering me like that!" Catra snapped. Glimmer snickered and followed Catra to the couch. She's not stopping, not any time soon. Adora took the time to go through Swifty's room, steal all of his hidden candy, and bring it back to her bedroom.

The two were fighting about a week ago and Swifty had stolen Adora's favorite candies for revenge. Now it was Adora's turn, except she took everything. Yeah, they're petty like that.

Meanwhile, Glimmer and Catra were talking on the couch. Glimmer was trying to get to know Catra's life better since it was always hidden from the people outside the mansion. And because of how Catra was raised she was honest with every single question, reluctantly though.

The rest of the night went smoothly and eventually, they all fell asleep, Catra and Glimmer on the couch, and Adora in her bedroom. The sun shined through the window and straight onto Catra's face.

She flipped over and rubbed her eyes before looking around. This isn't my- oh yeah. I remember now. She thought standing up and stretching her arms. Catra glanced down at Glimmer then at the stairs. She didn't want to go back just yet, she enjoyed her time here with the two girls. She got comfortable with them.

However she knew it wouldn't last long, this is not her home. She stepped past the couch and up the stairs. She knocked on Adora's door and waited.

Adora sat up and glimpsed towards her door. Thinking it was Glimmer she laid back down and tried to fall back asleep. However, the knocking continued so she stood up and trudged to the door. She opened the door and looked down at Catra.

"What's up?" Adora asked tiredly.

"Just wanted to tell you that I am leaving your house to go back home," Catra said gazing down at the floor. Adora nodded and gave her a thumbs up since her energy felt depleted. Catra waved to her and went downstairs and to the door. Glimmer had woken up by then and the first thing she saw was Catra opening the door.

"You're leaving?" Glimmer asked, sadness laced into her voice. Catra sighed and nodded.

"Yeah, sorry. See you in another lifetime I guess." Catra muttered pushing the door open. Glimmer knew what that meant which caused her to frown. Catra glanced back at Glimmer and waved. Glimmer waved back before Catra left and closed the door.

She started walking through the soggy woods slowly, trying not to slip on puddles. Her mind was filled with fear. I ran away. Now I'm coming back, it just doesn't make sense. I hope he's not waiting for me. Catra pushed a large branch out of the way and exited the woods. She saw the mansion just ahead of her and quickly looked around before going in its direction.

She didn't want to be seen by the public in her outfit from the previous dinner. Catra approached the gates and to her surprise, they opened. Oh no. She looked up and saw her father standing directly in front of her.

"Hello, Catrina."
