Chapter 20
Tw: Cutting/mentions of cutting
I'll Put Start And Finish When Necessary
Catra didn't need to worry about sneaking out anymore. Whenever she would finish all her schoolwork for the day her mother allowed her to invite Adora over, on the days she had off of course. The two would end up watching a movie or just talking with each other. Overall enjoying each other's company. Sometimes Bea would take pictures of the two when they would fall asleep cuddling but that's another topic for a different time.
Catra didn't have to worry about her father finding out because he would always leave the house in the morning for some in-person work. Beatrix always worked from home and she had started to do more than she usually did. Her instincts told her it was best to put more time and effort into her job.
Two weeks later, Catra came home from a trip to the theme park and found her father standing in front of her room door.
"Father? What's going on?" She asked as she stopped walking up the stairs. She just didn't want to get close to him, for no other reason. When Anderson heard her, he turned his head and grinned.
"I see you like the theme park right?" He asked moving closer towards her.
"U-Uh yeah why?" Catra asked looking down at the stairs and stepping back.
"Brilliant, now I have decided to show... affection to you. So I have just bought the theme park, just for you." Anderson said, effortlessly doing jazz hands. Catra took a second to process everything before her eyes widened.
"... WHAT!?" Catra yelled as Anderson shook his head.
"Don't raise your voice at me, that's rude."
"My apologies father but why would you do that?" Catra asked still mildly shocked from what he said. She wanted to know his intentions behind this because she refused it was because he wanted to show he cared.
"Is that not what you wanted?" He asked tilting his head. Catra stood dumbfounded before shaking her head.
"Well, it most certainly wasn't what I was expecting." She said rubbing her head. Anderson grinned and started to walk downstairs.
"Then my work here is done. Enjoy your new theme park Catra," He said getting further and further away. Some people might be happy to have an entire theme park for themselves but Catra felt the opposite. She rushed to her bedroom and without thinking called Adora.
"Hey-"
"I'm so so so sorry Adora!" Catra said cutting Adora off.
"Catra? What's are you apologizing for?" Adora asked, chuckling afterward.
"My father just bought the theme park for me. But I don't want it to just be mine I wanted everyone to use it, what do I do!?" Catra rambled holding the phone to her ear. Adora stayed quiet causing tears to prick the corner of Catra's eyes.
"I'm so sorry Adora please don't hate me!" Catra pleaded starting to cry.
"Catra don't cry I don't hate you! Calm down!" Adora said. She felt her heartache hearing Catra cry especially since she can't help her through a screen. Catra ended up calming down a lot quicker than she thought which made Adora feel better.
"Are you going to lose your job?" Catra asked, her voice still shaky.
"I doubt it, cause then who would operate the rides?" Adora said as Catra sniffed while rubbing her nose.
"Yeah... yeah your right," Catra said rubbing her nose again. She wanted to ask Adora to come over but she didn't have the confidence to do so. Luckily Adora had the same thought in mind.
"So can I come over later?" Adora asked causing Catra to smile.
"Yeah, that would be nice."
"Great! See you later!"
"Bye, love you," Catra muttered before hanging up. She sighed and laid her phone on the bed. Will people hate me now? I hope not. Maybe I can just ask father to open it to the public as well. I should wait until Adora comes over.
Adora waited outside with her phone out. She texted Catra that she was outside but she didn't respond yet. She shrugged it off and decided to look around. The mansion was like yen times bigger than all of these houses. An odd she noticed is a dark alley. She saw something going further and deeper inside as she started walking towards it. I should check it out.

Catra hummed some song as she cut open some skin on her arm. She felt terrible that she just took joy from millions of citizens and she decided to take joy from herself. She felt it was only fair, though she wanted to be careful that Adora wouldn't notice.
A few minutes go by and Catra patched up some of her cuts. She reached over for her phone and texted Adora back. Catra put her phone down and went back to the bathroom. I didn't do enough. She thought grabbing the knife again.
However, she couldn't do anything because she heard a knock from her door. She put the knife down and left the bathroom, cuts patched.
End of Tw
Catra opened the door and waved to Adora.
"Hey, sorry I responded late I got busy." Catra lied as Adora walked inside. Adora didn't say anything and Catra noticed. She closed the door and sat down next to her girlfriend.
"What's wrong?" Catra asked putting her arm around Adora's shoulder. Adora turned her head towards Catra and frowned.
"I saw them..." She muttered going back to looking at the ground.
"Who?" Catra asked. Adora's normal sparkling light blue eyes seemed to have gotten duller and darker. She saw something, what isn't she telling me?
"Catra..." She took in a deep breath before continuing.
"You know how more girls have gone missing?" Adora asked and Catra nodded. More teenagers, around the age of thirteen and fourteen.
"The man... I saw him." Adora confessed ad Catra's eyes widened.
"What? Well did you call the police?!" Catra asked hoping to end this conversation and get those girls to safety. However, Adora didn't answer which filled Catra with worry.
"Adora..." Catra stopped as soon as she heard Adora crying.
"What's wrong?! What happened?!" Catra panicked immediately comforting her girlfriend. If anything happened to Adora, Catra would never forgive herself. Adora rested her head on Catra's shoulder causing Catra to wince. However, now was not the time to tell Adora what else happened today so she let her rest.
"I should've tried to help its all my fault! I saw everything, even the man. Those girls are in trouble and it's my fault!" Adora cried as Catra rubbed her arm.
"Adora no don't say that. You were shocked, I would be too. Just call the police now," Catra said as comfortably as possible.
"Catra you don't understand! Not like you would," Adora said moving away from her. Catra reached for her but pushed her hand back.
"I have to fix this," Adora said standing up and rubbing her eyes.
"Adora no just-"
"Stop! You don't understand Catra! People are in trouble and I didn't do anything." She muttered shaking her head. She took one look at the door before Catra.
"I'll be back." She said starting to walk away.
"Adora wait!" Catra said following her outside.
"You!" Catra ran towards Adora and immediately stood in front of her.
"What? What is it?!" Catra asked as Adora pointed in front of her.
"Him," She responded coldly.
"My father?"
