Chapter 18
Tw: Mentions of cutting
I'll Put Start And Finish When Necessary
Catra decided to do more research on therapists so she was ready for her first appointment. When that day came Catra was sitting in the car nervously. Beatrix offered to drive her instead of a butler and Catra happily agreed. That happiness was now replaced with nervousness. So just spill my whole life story onto one person. Sounds easy, feels hard.
The car pulled up outside the psychologist's office and Beatrix turned her head.
"Are you ready?" She asked while parking the car. Catra stayed quiet. Bea didn't push the question and got out of the car. Catra followed her actions and closed the door. Beatrix locked the car before the two entered the building. While Beatrix was talking to the lady at the receptionist desk Catra stared outside at the landscape. The different cars that drove around and the shade on the ground. It was lovely to her.
"Come on Catra," Catra's thoughts were stopped from the sound of her mother. She turned around and nodded before following her down the hallway. Catra looked around the different rooms and the plaques that had names on them.
"Here, you ready?" Beatrix asked stopping outside the door. Catra took in a deep breath and confidently opened the door. When Catra looked up she realized she knew this person.
"Perfuma?" Catra asked as the therapist looked up. Perfuma's eyes lit up as she stood up.
"Hello Catra, this is your mother?" Perfuma asked saving the questions for later. Beatrix nodded before patting Catra's shoulder lightly.
"I'll be in the car, try to relax and get comfortable. Text me if you need me." Beatrix said leaving the room. Catra closed the door and sat down.
"Is Adora ok?" She asked and Perfuma sighed.
"She's not doing as well as she used to but I'm helping her through it. She misses you Catra, what happened?" Perfuma asked holding out a clipboard and pen.
"I got caught. It was DT, they told my parents." Catra said angrily.
"Mhm, and how does that make you feel?"
"Sad, betrayed and used. I just can't seem to make genuine friends." Catra confessed resting her head on her hands. Perfuma proceeded to ask her questions about her life at home and the aftermath of DT. Catra told her pretty much everything about her home life but when it came to the aftermath of DT she started tripping over her words.
She started stuttering and would take long pauses when the memories came back back her. She wanted to be honest but it just felt hard, like what happened should be kept a secret. She didn't want her mother to get in trouble, she trusted her now.
Eventually, their session ended and Catra said goodbye before leaving. She nodded towards the receptionist and left the building feeling better than before.
"So, how did it go?" Bea asked as Catra got back inside the car. She leaned back against the car seat and looked out the window.
"It went well. Opening up was harder than I thought but I said some things about... everything recent." Catra said. Bea nodded and turned on the car before looking through the mirror. She thought for a moment before turning around and facing Catra.
"Remember that theme park I promised you about?"
Adora would lay on her bed hugging her phone. She texted Catra so many times but never got an answer. She was worried sick. However her situation couldn't go too out of hand, she still has a job. She's only lost slept and would randomly start crying in different parts of the day.
Right now she was at work, operating the rides. She kept on her fake smile like usual but other than that nothing else really happened that day. Her watch went off and she left. It was her break period.
Catra and Bea arrived at the theme park a few minutes ago. Catra had tried to remember what ride Adora operated but couldn't. It's been way too long.
"I can't find her," Catra mumbled hugging herself.
"She could just be on break," Beatrix muttered looking around. Catra felt tears forming in her eyes so she wiped them away.
"I'll be in the bathroom," Catra said going over in the direction of the bathrooms. Bea nodded and continued to look around. She knew if Catra needed help that she would text her. Catra pushed open the bathroom door and stood near the sink.
"Why can't I do anything right?" Catra muttered as her tears hit the counter. She quickly wiped them away as she heard the bathroom door open. She turned her head and leaned off the sink.
"Sorry I'll leave-"
"Catra," Catra's eyes widened as she locked eyes with her.
"Adora?!" She asked stepping closer to her. The two girls immediately hugged each other tightly.
"I missed you so much!" Catra cried through tears.
"So did I! Are you ok? What happened!?" Adora asked pulling away and wiping her eyes. Catra did the same before Adora put her hands on Catra's shoulders. Catra flinched and Adora noticed so she immediately moved her hands.
"Was it too tight?" Adora asked her voice shaking.
"Y-Yeah, DT told my parents that I've been sneaking out and they... they stopped me from leaving the house," Catra said rubbing the back of her neck. Adora nodded and looked down. Why isn't she mad? I introduced the two.
"Are you mad at me?" Adora asked quietly.
"No, no of course not! I love you too much for that! How have you been?" Catra asked changing the subject. Adora explained how everything went downhill after Catra stopped coming over and Catra could only feel guilty.
"I'm so sorry Adora, I didn't... mean to, to cause all of that," Catra said rubbing her arms sadly.
"It's ok, everything worked out in the end," Adora said waving her hand.
"So uh what happened to you? You said that your parents locked you in but you also said around the time we first met that your parents are harsh on you." Adora said putting the attention on Catra.
Catra stiffened up and she looked down. She didn't want to have this conversation especially since she could barely open up about it to Perfuma.
"Catra?" Adora asked holding her hand. Catra forced herself to look up but when she did she noticed how concerned Adora was.
Start of Tw
"They just deleted your number a-and..." Catra's voice trailed off as the memories came back to her. They were so vivid she started shaking.
"Catra? Catra what's wrong?" Adora asked placing her hands on her shoulders. Catra winced and Adora understood why.
"Catra... please tell me you didn't," Adora said tears in her eyes. Catra turned around while rubbing her neck.
"I didn't think I would see you again. I was ready to give up, to just disappear. But..." Catra turned around and held both of Adora's hands. She smiled sweetly as Adora locked eyes with her.
"I kept thinking of you, you helped me through it. Thank you,"
