Chapter dedicated to HyperdeathAssriel !!

|||

I opened my eyes, only to feeling the vertigo. The sun rays were blinding me. I looked at my surroundings, only to realise I had slept on Ayato-kun's bed. I turned my head to the left, finding out that he had slept on a chair beside me the whole time.

I don't recall anything that had happened. Did I fall unconscious? If so, what happened before that?

"Ayato-kun?" I poked his cheek.

He shuffled a bit. He then wrinkled his nose and grumbled.

"Five...more minutes.." He muttered, "She kept me up whole night."

By she, does he mean me? What did I do? Ugh, I can't recall anything that had happened. And it doesn't help the fact that this certain ghoul is not bothered to wake up and give me answers.

I cracked my neck, before grabbing his arm and shaking him violently.

"WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!" I yelled.
"WHAT?!?" His eyes opened immediately, and I stopped shaking him.

He let out a scowl and had an irritated expression on his face.

"What?" I blinked innocently.
"You were the one who was shaking me violently and all you say is what?" He responded.
"Yeah, yeah," I tucked a strand of my golden hair behind my ear, "Why am I here? What happened?"
"You're kidding me." He facepalmed.
"Nah-uh, for real; what happened?" I tilted my head.

He sighed in response.

"Tell me before I kick your ass." I huffed.
"You went cray cray," He did a circular motion with his finger beside his head, "Collapsed. Then you were constantly screaming while you were unconscious. Then you stopped after I put you on my bed."
"Oh."
"Uh-huh."

Flashbacks hit my head. I then remembered everything perfectly.

"THEN THIS CALLS FOR A NEW DAY!" I stretched my arms and got off from the bed.
"Hold on, what about the riddle you said we will solve it today morning?!" Ayato-kun questioned.
"Oh, that?" I tapped my chin then smirked, "The answer is simple. The place is a graveyard."
"What? I don't get it!" Ayato-kun crossed his arms.
"A place where dreams had died. When a person dies, everything is gone, including their dreams and hopes. And they're not coming back, no? So it makes sense, doesn't it?"
"How are you so sure it's a graveyard?"
"Let's check it out then."

Here we are, standing in front of the gates of the cemetery. The weather was a bit chilly today, and I constantly get the feeling that something ominous will happen. Ha, call that a sixth sense. A sharp one, in fact.

"Stop it. You look creepy." Ayato-kun spoke.
"What?" I questioned as I looked at him.
"You have a smug expression on your face. You're bragging about something in that thick skull of yours, am I right?"
"Of course not!"
"Sure."

We walked in the cemetery, looking around in hopes of finding the second letter. Fifteen minutes had passed, yet we still haven't found anything.

"Are you sure it's this place?" Ayato-kun grumbled.
"Affirmative!" I did a thumbs up, "Just keep searching."

He let out a string of curses under his breath. I didn't mind, for it was normal of him to do so.

"Let's part ways. I'll go to that side," I pointed to my left, "And you go to the other side."
"Fine. Just don't get yourself to a shitty situation," He replied, "Or else I'll have to save your sorry ass again."
"I won't, no worries!"
"I'm not going to be worried about you."
"Of course you would. Bye bye!"

And with that, I grinned and waved goodbye to him before walking away.

I continued searching. As I continued meandering and passing by different graves, my patience was slowly running out. I felt slightly irritated at the thought of this game. I'm sure Gourmet is the one behind this. I mean, who else would make up such a frivolous game?

A bizarre thought crossed my mind. Was Hironaka Yami buried somewhere around here? Maybe the letter is placed somewhere near her grave. There's a possibility that it could be true, considering the fact she's the "original" Mad Hatter. I'm only a mere substitute of hers.

I trailed my eyes from one gravestone to another. Hironaka Yami, where in the world could be her grave? I'll seriously consider stabbing myself if she isn't buried here.

After a good ten minutes of searching, I finally found it. Man, I must be a genius for thinking through all this. I'm not being arrogant though. Or maybe I am, I don't know.

Anyways, it's quite unfortunate I found someone there. Purple hair, European styled clothes, and holding a crimson rose in his hand while standing in front of her grave. Who else would it be? Gourmet, of course. Maybe this will ease my struggle of getting rid of him.

"I'm truly sorry, mon chéri. Till this day, I can never forgive myself for letting you die in front of my eyes," He placed the rose of her grave, "To think that you lost your sanity in order to cover up the fact you wanted to die. I wish I conveyed my true feelings earlier."

I stood there, clutching my fists as I watched him from a short distance. What kind of acting is this? Calling her his "darling"? The world must be coming to an end.

"Gourmet." I hissed.

He slowly turned his head towards me, and looked at me in surprise. I could feel everything stopping in slow motion and my surroundings were spinning around me. I could taste the flaming anger on my tongue.

"Enomoto Hitomi. Pleasure seeing you."

(A/N) Shit's going down! @-@
Anyways, the chapter was dedicated to @HyperdeathAssriel because s/he was the first to guess the riddle! Congrats! ^^
Moving on forward, chapter 12.5 from the first book was deleted due to some people's inconvenience. Many have commented saying that they got scared and almost had a seizure. *sighs* I mean, you do know that one of the genres in Tokyo Ghoul is horror. :/
Last, but not least, here's a question for the readers. Thoughts on Hitomi x Ayato?

Votes, comments, and feedback are greatly appreciated! //slaps myself for shameless advertising//
