"He what?!" Ayato-kun yelled furiously, slamming his fist on the table.
Right now, we are at my apartment. I was complaining about random things until I mentioned about the Gourmet and him being here. I knew Ayato-kun would lose his shit, but damn, he could probably wreck my whole apartment right now.
"Yeah, exactly," I replied, taking a deep sigh, "Well, Hironaka Yami was close to him. Makes sense she entrusted him a spare key."
"She's goddamn dead!" Ayato-kun lost it again, "I don't want that creepy French ghoul to enter your apartment anytime he pleases!"
"You literally broke into my apartment two weeks ago as well, remember?" I mumbled under my breath, rolling my eyes.
"I'm an exception!" He crossed his arms and averted his eyes.
"Surrreeee.." I mumbled.
"That's it," He got up, "Pack your things. You're not staying there. It's not safe."
"Huh?" I looked up at him, "What the hell, Ayato-kun? I'm not rich enough to buy another apartment."
"I didn't say you had to." It was his time to roll his eyes.
Wait. Don't tell me...
"You're staying with me." He looked at me dead in the eyes with a straight face.
"Damn, if you wanted to marry me, you should have told me earlier. I might have as well accepted." I joked.
"Shut up." He huffed, averting his eyes.
I smirked and I placed my chin on the palm of my right hand.
"Why are you staring and smirking at me like that?" He looked at me.
"Oh, I was just thinking about how adorable you looked just now~" I replied.
"Ugh, you're so annoying. I can't believe I had to put up with you."
Look who's talking.
"You were literally the one who volunteered to put up with me." I retorted.
"Yeah, too much regret I've got now," He shot back, "Well, whatever. Get packing."
"What?!" I gasped, "Now?!?"
He rolled his eyes. I swear, if anyone could break the world record for rolling their own eyes, it would be him.
"Well, no shit," He replied with a hint of annoyance, "What if something happens to you while you're asleep?"
"Oh yeah, true," I tapped my chin, "But I'm the--"
"Yeah, yeah, you're the Mad Hatter. For the hundredth time, I get it. Now get your ass moving." He interrupted.
"Meanie." I huffed and stuck out my tongue.
"Whatever."
I got up from my chair and headed towards my room. I heard Ayato-kun getting up too.
I grabbed a suitcase from my closet. I rummaged through my drawers and stuffed my clothes in the suitcase. Ayato-kun was sitting on the edge of my bed, staring at the wall with boredom.
"You sure do take a long time to pack." Ayato-kun commented.
"I'm actually done." I snickered as I held my suitcase in one hand.
"Oh."
I skipped out of my room joyfully as Ayato-kun followed behind me. When I reached the door to exit, I heard Ayato-kun clear his throat, as if he's trying to catch my attention to say something.
"Something wrong?" I asked, looking back at him.
"I'll hold your bag." He offered awkwardly, as he took the bag away from my hand.
"Okay!" I grinned.

"Wha~this is so comfy!" I flung myself onto his sofa, "It's so much comfy than the one at my apartment!"
I stayed there like that. It was too comfy. Wake me up after 100 years if I fall asleep here.
"Get your ass off, seriously." Ayato-kun scoffed.
Man, he's such a stick in the mud as usual.
"Make me." I smirked, looking at him from the corner of my eye as I lay on the sofa.
"Fine."
He placed down the suitcase and approached me. I'm not sure what he was planning to do. Whatever it is, it better be interesting.
When he was finally in front of me, he leaned closer. I couldn't process in my brain about what he was going to do until he was just a few centimeters apart from my face.
"W-what the hell do you think you're doing..?" I stuttered as I could feel the heat rushing to my cheeks.
"You'll see." He whispered.
I'm pretty sure by now that I'm blushing furiously. He tilted his head slightly and leaned closer even more.
"I'm just joking," He smirked, moving away and straightening his pose, "I knew you would think I was going to kiss you."
"You're such an ass." I crossed my arms.
"You were blushing. Oh wait, you still are," He retorted, "Well, that's what you get for misbehaving."
"Then I wouldn't mind misbehaving all the time." I smirked.
"Did you just---"
I threw myself over him, causing both of us to fall on the ground. Since I was above him, I took this as an advantage to pin him down and get my revenge. This is working perfectly.
"What the hell?" He asked, looking at me straight in the eyes.
"I'm getting my revenge! Ha!" I laughed.
"You're so stupid," He sighed, before suddenly flipping me over and pinning me down, "I'm stronger than you."
Great. Now my revenge plot isn't working because the oh so great Ayato-kun has flipped me over and is now above me. How the hell does he have that kind of strength to do it? I thought I was strong.
"Uh." Somebody cleared their throat.
Our heads immediately turned towards the direction of the voice. As soon we saw who was at the entrance, Ayato-kun narrowed his eyes and scoffed.
A certain male with ash brown hair and russet brown eyes with beige skin stood at the entrance, looking at the both of us awkwardly. I shouldn't be surprised.
"There's something called knocking." Ayato-kun spat, still not moving from his position.
"I apologise," The other male said, "The door was open..and I wanted to see Hitomi since she was not in her apartment.."
"Get lost," Ayato-kun rolled his eyes, "Nobody is in the mood to see you, Toshi."
"Nobody asked you to decide that, Ayato." Toshi retorted, keeping a bored expression.
"You piece of shit," Ayato-kun cursed, "Feel lucky that she spared you and let you be her pet."
"I'm not in the mood to argue with you. I have to say something important." Toshi clenched his jaw.
"What is it?" I spoke this time.
He took a deep sigh and looked at me with his piercing eyes. He looked so serious as if there's a murder case going on. I arched a brow and he then spoke in a solemn tone.
"Your apartment. It's on fire."
