CH. 3: PRINCE OF FIRE
CHAPTER 3:
PRINCE OF FIRE.
Anisha P.O.V.
"Are you mad at me?"
Aang caught me off guard with his question, but I guess it did look like I was with my arms crossed.
"No, I'm not mad at you."
"But you look mad."
"Sorry Aang, I'm just frustrated. I really wanted to be friends with Katara," Sokka had banished us. Just moments before gran gran was going to tell me what she think may have happened to us, Sokka was furious at Aang for possibly signaling the Fire Nation.1
"To teach her water bending, right?" I looked at him.
"Sorry, I kinda told her you were practising water bending before we went under," He confessed.
"It's fine. But, I was practising, Aang. She needs a teacher, not someone who's barely even scratched the surface of it. I still can't control it with my emotions," I explained to him.
Appa groaned in response.
"Oh, don't you start with me," I sassed playfully.
After a few seconds of not hearing Aang shuffle around or ask questions, I looked up to see him staring ahead.
What's he staring at?
And my eyes widened when I followed his gaze to a Fire Navy ship headed straight towards the village.
No.
"I'll be right back," Aang tried leaving, but I grabbed his wrist.
"Not without me."
"But-!"
"No buts, Aang. Don't forget, I'm the Avatar too."

Although my brother decided to make his grand entrance by sledding in on a penguin, I flew in and rested myself infront of the villagers while Aang sled under a soldier and knocked him over.
Very classy, Aang.
The soldier got back up and glared at us with such hatred that I'd think we were life long rivals. His eyes a flaming ember as he looked at Aang and it sent shivers up my spine.
With one quick hand movement, the other soldiers surrounded us and Aang quickly acted by slamming his staff to the ground and snow gushed into their faces.
"Looking for us?" Aang glared back.
"You're the Air Bender? You're the Avatar?" The soldier questioned.
"Technically, we both are," Aang added in, and the soldier glanced up at me.
"That's impossible! You-!" But then, he stopped himself and his eyes slightly widened.
"Yup! Surprise! Now there's two to kick your butt," Aang smirked.
Don't get too cocky, little brother.
"I've spent years training for this encounter - training, meditating, and you're just children!"
Excuse me?! I'm fifteen!
"Well, you're just a teenager," Aang shrugged.
"Are you sure you were meditating? I highly doubt it with that much anger," I mused, not because I was cocky but because fire bending and air bending may have been polar opposites.
But both are still deadly.
The soldier then sent blasts of fire our way, and Aang quickly reacted by spinning his bo staff while I kept watch on the other soldiers. One of them ran at me, fire coming from both hands, and I let him get close enough to the point where I kicked him across the face and sent a blast of air his way, sending the dizzy soldier flying into the snow.
"Wait!"
Aang?
"If I go with you, will you promise to leave this village alone?"
"Aang, don't!"
The soldier nodded yes, but I quickly ran infront of Aang.
"Take me instead! I'm older than him! He doesn't know everything like I do!" I pleaded.
"You're both Avatars. I won't risk it, and this village will remain unharmed as long as you both cooperate," I glared at him.
"Please, he's just a boy," I was almost begging. The amount of fear in these people's eyes when they talked of the Fire Nation made me worry for Aang. He may be young but the things they could do to him? I would never forgive myself.
"Don't make me repeat myself, girl," He stared at me, challenging me, but I let myself surrender. They quickly cuffed us, and I couldn't look Aang in the eye.
"Aang, Anisha, don't do this!" Katara pleaded, voice filled with guilt, but I quickly glanced and gave her a small, reassuring smile.
"We'll be fine, Katara. Take care of your village."
I didn't pay any attention to what the soldiers were saying after that. Was this really it? The world gave two Avatars, and this is how they both go out? I was then struck by feeling an intense gaze on me, and looked to see the soldier who attacked Aang earlier.
"What?" I sneered.
"Tch."
Who is this prick anyway?
He's not wearing a helmet, what is he? All high and mighty?
They dragged us to the main deck and one of the soldiers handed him by brothers staff.
"This will make an excellent gift for my father. I suppose you wouldn't know of fathers - being raised by Monks," He smirked, trying to poke at us.
"Take the boy to the prison quarters, and take this to my quarters," He handed the staff off and Aang was taken away.
"Would you mind taking this to Prince Zukos' quarters?"
Prince?!
He's the Prince of the Fire Nation?!
But, that doesn't make any sense. Why is he here?
The guard holding me tightened his grip, and I yelped in pain.
"No harm is to come to the girl," the Prince commanded, and he loosened his grip.
"Are you sure?"
Okay, first he just attacks my brother and takes us hostage, now he's being nice to me?
I don't get boys.
"Actually, let her go. She's coming with me," Prince Zuko told him and he let me go, walking off and I looked down at the staircase that led to my brother.
I could-
"Are you coming?" He stood there, looking impatient.
"I could run," I told him, trying to act like I had the option.
"With your brother's life at risk?"
Damnit.
So I followed him, keeping my hands at my side and my mouth shut.
__________
Wow. . .boys rooms look very violent.
Good thing his is a lot cleaner than Aangs' room.
"Sit," He pointed at his bed, and I did so.
As he came to sit beside me, I saw the tablet in his hand and my eyes widened. That tablet has haunted me since the day Aang was born, telling me that I'm just meant to be the wife to a Fire Lord and bring peace - by forced marraige.
"No!" I burst out, standing up from his bed and he looked at me in shock.
"You know what this is?"
"Yes! And I'm not going to just be the poor wife to some Fire Lord! I will not just be a prim, and proper wife to just throw around-"
"What are you talking about?"
He interrupted, completely catching me off guard.
No, don't listen to him.
Things have changed so much, and who knows what kind of lies he'll spill to-
"Prince Zuko! The Avatar is escaping!"
And that's my cue.
"Sorry, but I'm afraid I'm leaving too."
"You wouldn't. I won't let you," His hands lit up in flames.
"I'd like to see you try, Prince of the Fire Nation," And my eyes glowed before sending him to his demise.
///
Fun Fact: Anisha wasn't allowed to train with anyone else besides Aang as she became more violent as she got older.
