Training
Mack slipped her earpiece on, heading over to the glass window overseeing the training. She looked over the different tables, watching as the tributes wandered around. There were the Careers, already making an alliance. They always did. She nodded with approval as some of the other tributes went to train. There was the fighting station, with an assortment of weapons. She made a mental note to remember each tribute's preferred weapon. Putting one of each in the Cornucopia made things interesting. They always fought so hard when supplies were limited. There was the foraging table, the camouflage table, the tracking table. Of course, they were all right next to each other. Tributes interested in those things generally made interesting alliances together. The fishing and swimming tables, practically abandoned, as usual. Too few tributes knew how to swim, not including District 4. President Jay believed it would allow the tributes to swim between the districts, although she knew it was just because he didn't want any of them to think that they had freedom. There was the trapping table, and the herbs table, both visited by the stealthier tributes. Some citizens didn't think it was fair for the tributes with the most kills to be caught in a trap and die. Frankly, she didn't care. Waging intelligence versus strength was much more entertaining. There was the shelter station, right next to the running and climbing station. Some of the more undervalued skills, but there was always at least one tribute who froze to death because they decided that shelters were unnecessary. Running was very important for getting to the Cornucopia first, which many tributes forgot about, then later began to regret. Climbing . . . well, she had some events in store where it would be useful. All of the skills would be useful. It was choosing which ones to learn that would be difficult. Her gaze turned back to the fighting station, where the Careers were currently showing off their battle prowess.
"Wow, look at that tribute with the sword! He's a force to be reckoned with. Which one is that, my view is kind of blocked," Mack heard from behind her. With a sigh, she turned around, meeting the gaze of the announcers. Of course, they were about to interview her.
"That's Glint, from District 1," she replied, facing Lilly coolly, "I suppose you're here to interview me?"
"Of course!" Kefi exclaimed, looking down at the tributes excitedly, "Now, tell us which one you think will win". Mack sighed again, motioning over the 24 kids wandering around.
"They all have different skills, of course. I'm still figuring that out. I suppose it just comes down to brains vs brawn. Although I heard that you three favor Maximus, correct?" She then pointed down at the dark haired boy, who was expertly swinging a spear around. Suzz nodded excitedly, motioning for the camera crews to zoom in on the Career.
"Look at him go, everyone! That spear work is impeccable! Plus, I heard that he's very intelligent," Suzz spoke into her microphone, looking at the cameras. Suddenly, Glint walked over to the boy, and started talking.
"I'm personally rooting for Cloran. After all, for him to volunteer, he has to have a few tricks up his sleeve, right?" Lilly said, pointing to the ginger boy at the running station. Mack looked at her with surprise, but didn't show any outward signs. The announcers rarely favored tributes other than the Careers. However, Lilly did have a point. She'd be watching the boy. Suddenly, their gaze was drawn back to the two Career boys, as Glint started shouting loudly. When Maximus didn't respond, he turned around and hurled his sword at the wall. It stuck in point first, quivering. Still seething, Glint removed his shield and threw it at Maximus' feet. Seeing the other boy's cool stare, he stormed off, cursing loudly.
"I'm just excited to see what you have planned for us, Gamemaker! Mind telling us a bit about the arena?" Kefi asked, after a few moments of awkward silence. Smiling knowingly, Mack looked into the camera.
"Sorry, can't do that. Spoilers".
Welcome to Training, Tributes
This is where you can make alliances, train your skills, and even role play! There will be an alliance discussion chain (although you can always choose to pm us if you want your alliances secret), a training chain (you get 3 points to learn new skills or level up your current ones), and an rp chain (if you want to rp, that is. It's not required). Just make sure for training, you submit your answers in this format:
John, District 3
Train hiding skill once
Learn running skill
Train running skill once
And for your final alliance decisions (in the chain or pm):
3 Person Alliance
John, District 3
Jane, District 3
Ann, District 7
The Careers are automatically in an alliance, so just tell me if you want to leave it. As you can see, Glint has already decided to go solo. Just make sure to contact me if you want any changes!
Got it? Then let the training begin!
