Chapter 72 - Dispute
Dust's POV
As I tied the laces of my hiking boots, I thought about the state of our group. It has been a total of five weeks since shit has went down. Our family has been slowly falling apart. Nightmare has become more stressed, to the point where he's mentally unstable. Recently, he has shut himself in his room, not letting anyone in, not even Cross. Ink was the peace keeper, and well... he was gone.
I sighed as I stood up. Walking around, I tried to find Blue so we could go hiking. I found him standing in the living room. He had a sad expression.
Me: What's wrong Blue?
Blue: Hey Dust. This house seems more empty by the minute. I miss the days where we all laugh together and spend time as a big family.
I rubbed his back.
Me: It's okay, mate. That's just take our minds off things for the time being.
He nodded and followed me out of the house.
(Time Skip)
We sat upon the highest mountain of our town. The city up north stood tall and grand. Their buildings reflected the sun's light. I could faintly recognize one of the buildings from here. It was a company that I got my tech from.
I started to set a blanket for us to sit on to eat food.
(Time Skip)
We didn't spend very much time outside as it began to get cold. When we arrived, the was house silent. The normal faint sound of talking was completely gone. Killer and Dream weren't in the kitchen like they usually were. Blue rested at the dining table as I dug out a bottle of scotch from liquor pantry. Yes, we have a separate pantry made just for alcohol. I leaned against the island as I sipped from my glass.
Killer walked into the room but not once said a word. It wasn't awkward silence, it's just we didn't have anything to say to each other. It seemed more respectful that way. He grabbed a water bottle and left the room. I agreed with Blue, I miss the old times.
(Time Skip)
I was awake and alone in my room. I checked the time on my clock.
'00:34'
My eyes were glued to my laptop. Killer texted me to start looking for a school. Sighing heavily, I scrolled through the many websites that I found. Good thing I didn't have to worry about money. I yawned as I shut my computer and tossed it to my side.
Suddenly, I heard yelling coming from downstairs. Getting up, I followed the noise to the living room. It was Cross, Killer, and Horror. All of their weapons were drawn. Killer seemed to be trying to stop the dispute between Horror and Cross.
Killer: Guys, put your weapons down.
Horror: No! He called Lust a slut!
Cross: All because you called Nightmare a pity bitch for hiding in his room! He lost his best friend, you know!
Horror: I was joking!
Cross: Really?! Didn't sound like it, pinche pendejo!
Horror: I would never insult my boss like that!
Cross: Then apologize!
Horror: You apologize first!
Cross: Like hell I'll will!

Nightmare's POV
I was curled into a ball and was staring at the wall in front of me. Everyone's negativity from downstairs was making me feel stronger. I fed off of it.
I could practically see the icy glow of my own blue eye. My tendrils swung around angrily as I slowly felt myself lose all sense of sanity.
Even though Cross was my lover, I still wanted to protect Ink. He was still everything to me. I didn't feel complete, not knowing if my childhood friend was safe. What was worse is that I didn't know how to find him. I was powerless, and I hated it.
Memories rushed through my mind. I couldn't take anymore of it. That's when I had enough, I wasn't able to hold it any longer. I bursted into tears.
Me: I can't do anything. I'm useless.
I cried out to no one. This was the first time I have ever prayed to...
God
