Chapter 68 - Mistakes Happen
Geno's POV
Reaper woke up and kissed the back of my neck.
Reaper: Good morning, Vita Mia.
Me: Fuck off, Love.
Reaper: Why are you so mean to me?
Me: Because I can.
Reaper: Wow. My own wife doesn't even love me. I feel so betrayed.
He huffed jokingly. I laughed quietly as I held his left hand in mine. I looked at our wedding rings. Even though I didn't act like it, I loved Reaper with all of my soul. He can sometimes be fucking annoying but he somehow stole my heart.
Reaper: Are you calling in for maternity leave today, Geno?
Me: I was planning on it.
We got out of bed but didn't haste ourselves to change clothing as it was a weekend. I stole Reaper's cloak and draped it over my shoulders.
Reaper began making breakfast. He offered me some but I wasn't hungry at all so I politely declined. This child is ruining my meals. I would normally eat three meals a day but now, I can either have random cravings or I feel nauseous just by looking at food.

I was folding laundry with Reaper next to me when Fresh suddenly jumped down the stairs. He didn't get good footing so he fell onto the floor, which I expected to happen. He stood up without a scratch and a smile.
'What a trooper.'
Me: Morning Dare Devil. How was your fall?
Fresh: It hurt but it was fun.
I shook my head.
Me: What am I going to do with you?
Fresh: Whelp, I'm your baby bro so you're stuck with me forever.
Me: Seems like a living hell.
Fresh: Hey, that's not nice.
Me: Dude, you're seventeen and you jumped off the stairs. You're acting like a five year old.
He gave me a wide smile and rubbed the back of his neck. I giggled as I went back to folding the clothes. Reaper started to help me so we could get done faster. I noticed that Fresh was heading towards the front door.
Fresh: I'm going out to meet up with friends.
Me: Make sure you take a condom.
Fresh: Geno!
Me: Sorry, sorry. Alright have fun.
Once he closed the front door, Reaper wrapped his arms around me. He sweetly kissed me as we started cuddling. I ended up completely forgetting about the laundry.
Reaper put his hand on my stomach while I slowly began to close my eye. For some reason, I was really exhausted.

A fast flip of a page disturbed my peace. I saw Reaper writing in his journal. The TV was tuned to the Hallmark channel. You know, the cliche movies where there is absolutely no conflict. The coffee table had a small plate of Tiramisu on it. There was a weighted wool quilt on top of me.
Reaper looked over his book while he took bites from his snack. A yawn escaped from my mouth which alerted him. He didn't look away from his task but he sweetly smiled. He rubbed my head as he wrote notes on his page. It looked like he was planning on leaving tonight to do his second job.
Me: Love, what time is it?
Reaper: Around 5:30pm. Why?
Me: Just wanted to know if Fresh was home.
Reaper: He hasn't come back yet.
Me: What's that boy doing? He's been gone for nine hours.
He shrugged.
Reaper: Beats me.
All of a sudden, there was a knock on the door. I stood up and walked to it. Opening, I saw a young skeletal boy standing at my doorstep. He had Fresh next to him. However, Fresh seemed a bit... drunk. The young man cleared his throat.
???: I believe this is where Fresh lives.
Me: You're not going to explain to me why he's like this?
???: Oh my bad, sorry. Fresh was peer pressured into drinking. He had a little too much, as you can see.
Me: Were you apart of this?
I glared at him. He shook his head.
???: Oh no. I was at home when I got a text. It was him and I could clearly tell that he was drunk. So I asked him where he was. Surprisingly, he gave me the right location. So I went to go pick him up and bring him back here.
He showed me his phone to convince me that he wasn't apart of it. I nodded as I grabbed Fresh by the sleeve.
???: Please don't yell at him too much.
Me: I won't. I'm pretty sure the hangover will be enough for his punishment. By the way, what's your name, kid?
???: Crow.
Me: Nice to meet you.
Crow: Likewise.
I closed to door in front of him. I sighed as I dragged Fresh to his room. Helping him onto his bed, I pulled a chair next to him and sat on it. I can wait. I'm very patient.

I heard Fresh begin to groan as he sat up. He took his hat and shades off. He started to rub his temples.
Fresh: Ugh, my head. What happened?
Me: You got drunk.
Fresh flopped backwards onto his pillow. He was suffering from the hangover greatly.
Fresh: Don't be mad, please.
Me: I'm not mad, just disappointed. I expected you to make at least at some stupid decisions. Although, I thought you knew better about getting peer pressured.
Fresh: I'm sorry.
Me: It's okay. We learn from our mistakes. However... you do know that you can get arrested for underage drinking, right?
Fresh: I know, I know.
I sighed as I pinched my nose bridge.
Me: Go get yourself water.
Fresh was a good kid but he can sometimes make the wrong choices. Him being a teenager didn't make it easier. This is the time in his life where he's trying to figure out who he is.
Standing up, I walked back into the living room. Reaper was on the couch, waiting for me to come down. He whistled out of awkwardness. He heard the whole thing. I sat next to him and leaned back into the cushions. Pulling the quilt over myself, I listened to the Hallmark movie that was playing in the background. Reaper wrapped his arms around me. We leaned against each other and enjoyed one another's company. He kissed the top of my head.
Reaper: I love you, Geno.
Me: I love you too.
I thought about what happened today. The nice young boy that helped Fresh home. I remembered his name.
Crow
A Quick Discussion
When you hear a fly but you can't see it.
Me: *Confused screaming*
I based Geno and Reaper off of my grandparents. My grandparents' relationship is cute.
I didn't write a Christmas chapter because not everyone celebrates it.
Love ya...
Bye
