Chapter 52 - Rescue Mission

Fell's POV

The lack of sleep began to take a toll on me. How could I rest when my princess was out there somewhere?

It was currently midnight and the stars were out but they didn't twinkle like they used to. Nothing seemed to interest me anymore. My classes and missions were boring and dragged on forever.

Asgore sent a few of his men out to find a lead for Classic's kidnapping. Those words tasted bitter on my tongue. I was Classic's partner. I was supposed to protect him but I failed.

I sat under the familiar tree next to the familiar stream. The sound of the water was somewhat calmly but it didn't have its normal affect. I thought back on everything that has happened while I've been here. The emotions caught up to me. The emotions that I have been trying to hold in. I began to cry uncontrollably.

General: I am sorry for the things that you've experienced.

Me: General.

General: Just call me Asgore. I'm certain you would rather want to talk to me this way, without the formalities.

Me: Thank you, sir.

He grunted quietly as he sat on the ground. I didn't bother since he was middle aged goat monster.

Asgore: I know you're thinking about Sans. I apologize.

Me: It's not your fault. It's mine really. I should've been there to help. Now, he's gone. He could be anywhere at this point.

Asgore: It is not your fault either, Fell. You had no knowledge of it so you couldn't do anything.

His commanding, fearless voice was nowhere to be found. It felt like he was talking in a way as if he was speaking to his offspring.

Asgore: You remind me of my son. Always bold and ready for action. He once had a moment like this as well. He was mourning for his sister. My daughter passed away from a dangerous illness.

Me: I'm... sorry for your loss. Did she have a dying wish? I'm sorry if that's too personal.

Asgore: It is alright. She wished for a safer place. A country without criminals, or villains as she put it. That's why I established this camp. I only wanted her to be happy, even in the afterlife.

A tear traveled down Asgore's face. I lightly patted him on the shoulder to comfort him.

Me: Well, if she was here, she would say that she's proud of you. She would give you a hug and tell that she's love you very much. She would say that she misses you and wished to be reunited again.

That seemed to make him happy as tears rolled down his cheeks. He missed his little girl.

We sat in silence until we heard rapid footsteps. It was a scout.

Scout: General. We found a lead.

Asgore stood up and followed the young one back to camp.

Asgore: Come on Fell.

I followed my order. I couldn't believe this was happening. There was a possibility that we could find Classic.

We entered a tent that had many people in it. They were surrounding a table with a map on it. Several circles and Xs dotted the paper. A particular circle caught my attention. A place located in Nevada.

Scout: We believe that place is where they're keeping Classic, sir. I will go and save him.

Asgore: No.

The scout looked at him in shock.

Asgore: I believe that Fell should go and save him.

Asgore gave me a trusting expression. I nodded and headed out to begin my journey. It was night but nothing was going to stop me.

(Time Skip)

I finally made it. I was walking the area to find the facility that was believed to hold Classic.

'If I'm told that my princess is in another castle, I'm going to scream.'

Suddenly, in the distance, I could see something large and grey. The sun was rising so I had to be quick to get in there.

A man was standing in front of the door while another one walked the perimeter of the building. When he was out of sight, I teleported behind the guard and snapped his neck. I propped his body up against the wall so it would look like he was still alive. Walking to the door, I realized that it needed a card. Quickly searching through the corpse, I noticed that he didn't have one.

Me: The one walking the perimeter must have it.

I waited for him to come around. When he did, his death was easily delivered to him. Luckily, he was carrying the thing I needed. The card to the front door. Waving the card in front of the chip reader, the door unlocked with a beep. The light changed from red to green and it smoothly swung open.

Setting foot into the building, I immediately felt a sense of unease. I needed to be careful. This was more difficult as I had no help. Carefully taking each step, I checked around every corner for another guard. I found a room that had a computer in it. The security room.

The devices seemed to only monitor one room however, I couldn't quite make it out. A woman sat in a chair and watched the monitors intensely. I crept up behind her and suffocated her.

Me: Please forgive me.

I whispered to her dead body. I closed the door and leaned over the desk. The observed room became clearer. I took notice that the cameras were used to watch only glass cells.

Me: That must be where Classic is kept.

I wrote down notes in the journal that Sci gave me. It was originally for my soul progress but that was useless to me. I turned off the cameras to avoid anything that would be recorded. I left the room and continued my search. After a few minutes, I found the glass cells. Most of them were empty but I stopped at one.

I almost had a heart attack. Classic was in there but he looked like he was on the verge of death. His uniform was slightly torn and his once purely white face was stained with blood.

'He was tortured.'

In his arms, he protectively held a little child. They were sleeping peacefully. I slid the glass door to the side and made me way towards them. His eyes fluttered open when he felt me gently shaking him awake.

Classic: Fell!

He whispered to me.

Me: Hey princess.

Classic: How the hell did you find me?

Me: I have my connections. Who's that?

Classic: This is Frisk. They tried to help me but their plan ultimately backfired.

Me: We have to go. Let's take the child with us.

He nodded and woke Frisk up. They got scared of me but calmed down when Classic said that I was his friend. They followed me down the hallway.

I pulled them back suddenly. Guards were headed straight towards us. Classic started to panic. I took their hands and dragged them into a small storage room. We waited in there until I heard one of the men turning the doorknob. I took Classic and Frisk and hid them behind a large object in a dark corner. Just before the door opened, I managed to stop out of view of the guard. He started looking around. My soul beat began to increase. If I didn't have it under control, the man would hear it. I held my breath. The man was approaching the large object that Classic and Frisk was hiding behind. I slowly stepped out of the shadows to kill him when I heard a guard yell. Stepping back into the darkness, I watched as the man left the room and close the door behind. I exhaled a breath of relief.

Me: Come on guys. It's safe now.

Classic stepped out with Frisk close behind. I took their hands and leaded them to the exit.

(Time Skip)

I was able to rescue Classic and even managed to safe another life as well.

We were walking along the road to a small town. We couldn't teleport as Classic was not in a stable state to do it.

When we arrived, I bought brownies. I kneeled down and offered one to Frisk. They stared at me, then the brownie, then back at me. They took the treat and hugged me tightly. A smile was present of their face. Classic giggled.

Classic: Frisk likes ya.

I gave one to him then started walking again. Frisk was holding onto my pants the entire time.

Me: How much to do you have heal so we can use magic?

Classic: Not that much. Actually, all my wounds can be healed right now.

(Time Skip)

We spent a few hours healing Classic's wounds but we were able to make it back to camp. It was night here again so everyone was asleep.

Classic and I sat under our tree. Frisk was clinging onto me. They were currently sleeping in my lap. My arm wrapped around my princess. I kissed him.

Me: I'm so happy to have you back...

I love you

A Quick Discussion

Two things.

One, when Asgore was talking about Chara, I was freaking crying.

Two, I'm sure you noticed that the General name tag changed to Asgore. This shows that Fell dropped the formalities.
