Chapter 32 - A Dangerous Threat

Sorry it's not the normal length of the others.

Classic's POV

The trumpet rang loudly throughout the camp. I really didn't want to get up this early. Subconsciously, I opened my eyes and sat up. Apparently I never took off my dog tag from last night. I looked at Fell, who was sitting longways on his bed, reading. He turned his head towards me. His glowing eye wasn't active like normal. I'm not actually sure what we skeletons call it. All I know is that usually, our left eye glows if we feel threatened or when we're alert. Let's just say that his eyes were white instead of the one that's red.

I raised myself off of the couch in the room that Fell was kept in. Sci is still monitoring his soul to make sure it stays in stable condition. The General has let me watch over Fell while he stays here. I rested my head on the side of his bed and stared at him.

Fell: What?

Me: Nothing. Just admiring your eyes.

It's so strange seeing Fell with his white eye lights. He always has his eye glowing. I have to say, his sharp teeth does kinda match his red one better. I seriously don't know what to call it.

Fell started blushing which caused him to hide behind the pages of his book. He refused to lower it.

Sci came in, holding his clipboard that held several notes from the previous times.

Fell: Hey Doc. Came to check up on me?

Sci adjusted his glasses.

Sci: Yes. Pretty much the usual. Classic.

Me: Yes Sir?

Sci: You can leave if you want to. It's going to be a while. I believe the General wanted to see you, about the incident a few days ago.

I stared at the reflective tiled floor. The memories of seeing the lifeless bodies of my friends came rushing back to me.

Me: If the General needs me, then I can't refuse.

Standing up, I straighten my uniform jacket and tied the laces of my boots. Before I left, I took one last glance at Sci and Fell. Sci was busy writing things down while Fell stared back at me with a sad expression. I left the building and walked along the dirt path that led to the General's tent. I never took the time to obverse the man properly. He was a giant goat. He seemed to be around his late forty's or early fifty's. He was also very tall and his voice radiated a commanding tone. I entered the familiar space.

Me: You needed me sir?

General: Yes, Gaster. Take a sit.

I followed his order. He then handed me a folded paper. I opened it. The paper showed several symbols. It was in the formation of a letter.

Me: What is this?

He stood and started pacing with his hands behind his back.

General: A few of my men searched the bodies again and we came across a person that was unknown to us. Strangely, he was wearing the Assassin Allegiance uniform. His body was carrying that paper you hold now.

I looked over the symbols again. I recognized it after a few minutes.

Me: Sir, this letter is in Wingdings.

General: Can you read it?

Me: No, sir. I used to when I was little but I have forgotten it.

He crossed his arms and sighed.

General: Damn. We have to find someone who can read this. Take that paper to Science. He's a smart kid. By the way, how is Fell doing?

Me: His vitals are improving, sir.

General: Good. Now, get going.

Me: Yes sir.

I walked out of the tent and made my way back to the medical building. I opened the door. Sci was still here, good. He had Fell's soul out. I guess Fell felt threatened because his red eye was back.

Me: Sci, I have something important for you.

I handed him the letter and watched him open it.

Sci: It's in Wingdings.

Me: The General wants you to decipher that if you can.

Sci: Of course I can, just let me finish my current task.

He went back to looking at the monitor. Then he put the soul back into Fell's body.

Sci: Your vitals are normal but you're not out of the woods yet.

Fell: Thanks Doc.

Science unfolded the paper again and scanned it.

Sci: I'll be right back. This is going to take a few minutes to decipher.

I nodded. He walked out of the room, leaving Fell and I in silence. I sat down on the couch, taking the weight off my feet. After all the training, you're bound get some sores. I was told that I needed to be careful because if I kept walking constantly, my ankles will start splintering.

My mind blanked out which is never good when you're in the middle of a crisis. The wall became interesting and made it easier for me to think. A book hit me out of nowhere. It was obviously Fell who did it.

Me: What the heck.

Fell: Bitch, I was literally yelling your name and you still didn't respond.

Me: What!

Fell: I just wanted to know if you were okay! Jeez.

Me: Why? I'm not the one that was shot. I should asking you that question.

He lightly blushed.

Fell: Because... because you're kinda special to me.

He realized what he said.

Fell: Special because you're my partner. Ha ha, yeah that.

He looked at me awkwardly.

Me: I guess.

After the conversation, we went back to doing our own thing. Sci came in with the paper, as well as a copy in English.

Sci: Classic. Can I talk with you privately.

Fell: Why can't I hear this?

Sci: Because we don't need you worrying about this. You still have to heal a little before you can get back out there.

I reluctantly followed Sci outside of the building. When he closed the door, he adjusted his glasses to read the paper better.

Sci: This letter is most likely written by the imposter's boss. It says that they are planning to blow up the country's capital. If they accomplish this, the boss will take over the government and start racism towards monsters. Not just racism, but...

His eye lights suddenly blacked out.

The annihilation of all monsters
