"Move away!!" He shouted as he headbutted the demon's head. Who let go of the axe but his hair is still wrapped in it. Tanjiro headbutted him again, and threw the axe to a tree.

"All right." Tanjiro quickly ran after us. "I wanted to take away his axe, but it ended up getting stuck in my hair. Damn it."

3rd Person's Pov

"Nezuko!! Nee-chan!! Where are you??" Tanjiro called out, running through the trees as he looked for his siblings. He momentarily stopped, looking around.

He perked up and ran to a different direction until he saw the demon's headless body kicking Nezuko near a cliff. His older sister was trying to pull the demon away.

"Stop it!" Tanjiro tackled the demon, and his face fell once he noticed he just jumped off the cliff. Y/n reacted quickly, grabbing Tanjiro by his haori. The demon's body continued to fall, eventually hitting the rock.

Y/n looked over the cliff with a curious expression. "Damn." She thought, staring down at the body. Nezuko huffed, helping Y/n pull Tanjiro up.

The three of them sat in a daze, still at the edge of the cliff.

Tanjiro unsheathed his blade, staring at the head stuck on the tree. Y/n and Nezuko were behind him.

"Are there a lot of demons? You don't smell the same as the one at our house... It wasn't you." Tanjiro thought.

"But if I don't kill him..." Tanjiro trailed off, breathing heavily as he gripped the blade. "He'll eat someone else... So... I'll do it..!" He was trembling, sweat dripping from the sides of his face.

Tanjiro flinched when a hand suddenly touched his shoulder. He looked behind him, gasping.

"That won't kill him," Urokudaki stated.

Tanjiro stared at the man wearing a Tengu mask. "This person walks with no sound," he thought, Nezuko and Y/n still next to him.

"How can I kill him?" He turned his body to face the man.

"Don't ask me. Can't you figure it out yourself?"

Tanjiro looks down, "If piercing doesn't kill him, I can only beat his head to a pulp." He turned to look at a big rock under a nearby tree.

Tanjiro held the rock with both hands, stepping closer to the demon. "I need to break all his bones and destroy the entire head... I must hit him with this rock continuously. This will hurt a lot. Isn't there a way to kill him with one hit?" Hesitation was evident on Tanjiro's face as he looked down at the rock.

Urokudaki was still behind him, silently observing. "This kid won't cut it. He's unable to make a decision since he's too considerate. The demon is in front of him, but I can still smell his kindness... He actually has sympathy for demons."

"Giyuu. This kid won't cut it."

...

The demon's face scrunched up, and it gasped, eyes opening abruptly. It furrowed its brows. "I passed out." The demon looked around, gritting his teeth, "Could it be that my body is dead? I feel extremely uncomfortable."

The demon finally looked up and noticed Tanjiro. Its eyes widened and started thrashing around, although the axe kept it pinned to the tree. "Damn it! I'm going to kill you. I'll eat your flesh and bones. Come over here." The demon kept trying to reach Tanjiro.

Tanjiro looked to his left, and he knew that if he took any longer, the sun would come up before he could kill the demon.

"Hey! Are you listening? Damn you!" The demon kept cursing at him. The sun was already starting to rise. As the first few rays reached them, the demon screamed, trying to cover its face using its arms. The demon started burning, and after only a few seconds, turned to ashes.

Tanjiro dropped the stone and gasped. "He... became like that after being exposed to the sun.. It's no wonder they hate the sun so much.."

He looked around, his hand dropping to his sides. "Nezuko? Nee-chan?" He called out, panicking when he couldn't see them. Tanjiro could've sworn the two of them were just by his side.

Tanjiro gasped, running back to the shrine. He lets out a relieved exhale seeing Nezuko inside the basket with a white cloth draped over her head. Y/n was next to her, curled up.

"Nezuko.. Nee-chan.." He smiled.

Tanjiro perked up, "RIght, where is that man."

...

Tanjiro found him as he walked around the shrine, knelt down in front of the grave of people he just buried.

He stepped closer. "Excuse me." Tanjiro muttered, and the man stood up.

"I'm Sakonji Urokudaki. You're the one recommended by Giyuu Tomioka, aren't you?"

"Yes, I'm Tanjiro Kamado. My younger sister is Nezuko, and my older sister's name is Aozora." Tanjiro introduced, trying his best to sound polite as he pointed at the shrine.

"Tanjiro." Urokudaki started, facing Tanjiro. "If your sisters eat people, what will you do?"

Tanjiro's eyes widened as he slightly gasped. He could not answer until Urokudaki walked closer and smacked him on the cheeks.

He slowly looked back up at the man, his cheeks swollen.

"Your judgement is too slow! You are delayed in making a judgement. So you couldn't kill the demon until morning came."

Tanjiro was holding his cheeks.

"Why didn't you reply instantly to my question just now? Because your determination is shallow. When your sisters eat people, there are only two things you can do."

"After you kill them, kill yourself by disembowelment. If you want to bring along your demonic sisters, you must be aware."

"But there's something that could never happen. You better remember this. Letting your sisters take away innocent lives. You must never let that happen."

"Do you understand what I said?" Urokudaki's voice was stern.

"Yes." Tanjiro answered right away, a determined look on his face.
