*A Month Later*

Cody had arrived to Reno with Lili, Alicia, and the other Cherry Bombs for the last show of their tour together before finally getting a break. Cody had met with Taylor and Alicia at the airport as they were welcoming Corey and Griffin back home after their tour of Asia where they waited for them until they saw them walk toward them when they all smiled and hugged them as Alicia kissed Corey and the two held each other tightly as Cody and Taylor smiled until they broke the hug and Corey saw Lili as she smiled to see him.

Lili: Pop Pop!

Corey: Hey sweetie.

Cody then let Corey hold Lili as him and Griffin interacted with Lili before they went to get Corey's and Griffins suitcases and head to the car before driving to the hotel they were staying at.

*At The Hotel*

Everyone in the Taylor family were just hanging out in the hotel room before the show tonight when Cody was going through his laptop and answering emails while Alicia, Griffin, and Corey were all bonding with Lili and Taylor was nuzzled up by Cody's side until he received another email from someone.

With Cody's curiosity striking, he opened it and found out it was something from someone named "Skinny."

Cody: What is this?

Taylor: Read it and let's find out.

Cody read the email and saw that it was from Steve Felton who was a drummer, but not just any drummer though. Steve Felton was the drummer for Mushroomhead.

Cody: Who's Mushroomhead?

Corey turnt his head around fast at him and looked at him like he was crazy.

Corey: Why are you asking that Cody?

Cody: I got an email from their drummer, Steve Felton. Calls himself "skinny."

Corey and Alicia looked at each other until they had to tell Cody when Alicia told Griffin to keep playing with Lili while her and Corey stood up.

Alicia: Taylor? Can we talk to Cody alone please?

Taylor: Do you want us to step out of the room?

Alicia: No need to. We'll just go downstairs and get some coffee. We'll be back. Come on Cody.

Cody: Ok. I'll answer this email later.

Cody then closed his laptop and kissed Taylor before he got up from the bed and went with Corey and Alicia downstairs. Once they were downstairs and got their coffee, that's when they had to tell Cody about Mushroomhead.

Corey: Ok. What was that email about from Mushroomhead?

Cody: It was saying that they want to take me and my band on tour with them and possibly work on a song with them. Three weeks from tomorrow they start the tour in Laughlin, go on tour for 2 months, and finish in Pheonix. Rehearsals start in 2 days.

Alicia was a little concerned about this.

Alicia: We never told you about the beef that we all have with them.

Cody: Beef? What are you guys talking about?

Corey: I'm surprised you don't know about any of that.

Cody: I mean, I've heard of the group, but I don't remember any confrontation happening between you and them.

Alicia: *sighs* I guess we should start from the beginning of what happened. You start honey.

Corey: Alright. Where do I even begin?

Corey then went on to explain to Cody about Mushroomhead on who copied who, the fanbases on how much they hated each other, the success stories, and even how most of the band members were not good people at all. Cody was a little surprised about the story when Paul had a padlock the size of Corey's fist thrown at him in the early years of Slipknot and when they went into the crowd with Coal Chamber and Machinehead and beat up those Mushroomhead fans. Cody was a little surprised when he heard those stories.

Cody: Wow..... I literally had no idea.

Corey: Yeah. It was a lot of drama going on at that time and still is today. It's up to you on what you want to do with them, but thing is I don't know if they know that you're our adopted son. If you want to do this tour, talk to your band and see what they want to do, but just remember these people are not great people to work with either. You're band just caught their eyes and they're willing to give you guys a shot, but be careful if you do.

Cody looked at Alicia.

Cody: What do you think mom?

Alicia: *sighs* I'm siding with Corey on this. I'm not gonna stop you on what your decision is, but it's completely up to you. Just remember everything we've just told you and what happened.

Cody nodded before they finished their coffee and went back upstairs to their room where Cody answered the email back to Steve Felton and soon had to go to the arena for the show.

*At The Arena*

Once Cody finished his set with Damaged Generation, he thanked the crowd for coming out to see them before he walked backstage and headed to his dressing room where Alicia had finished getting her outfit on.

Cody: Looking good mom.

Alicia: Thanks sweetie. I'll meet you by the makeup station. Ella's already getting her makeup on before we go on.

Cody: Ok mom.

Alicia smiled and kissed his cheek before she went to go get her makeup on while Cidy got his outfit on. Once Cody got his outfit on, he went to the makeup station where he sat down next to Alicia as Layla and Ella helped him with his facepaint and the two started catching up.

Ella: So what did you say to them about the next tour?

Cody: I.... agreed to do a rehearsal with them. If everything goes well in rehearsals, then it'll be official.

Ella: How do you feel about it Alicia?

Alicia: I don't like the idea of it. I mean, none of the members of Mushroomhead know that Cody's related to Corey. That lead singer's a real nutcase if you ask me.

Cody: Well.... I don't know the guy that much mom. Besides, they said they're having a former member come back too. I don't know who that is, but I'll find out in the next couple of days for the start of rehearsals.

Ella: All I'm gonna say is be careful Cody. We don't you to get hurt or possibly killed again. If everything I've heard about them is true, then for sure they're gonna find out about you being a family member of the Taylors.

Cody: I know, that's why I'm not gonna tell them that I am. If something happens, don't worry about me I know what to do.

Ella and Alicia nodded as Ella finished Cody's facepaint and she went to work on Latisha's makeup while Cody and Alicia went to do their pre-show stretches.

Alicia: You really don't know what you're getting yourself into Cody. These are people who despise every single member of Slipknot and everyone related to them. Whatever happens, call me, Taylor, or Corey and let either one of us know what's going on at rehearsals tomorrow.

Cody: Don't worry mom. I don't always look for trouble, trouble always finds me. I mean, last time I was in trouble it nearly killed me. I had no control over it. Whatever happens is gonna happen. I took the offer because I'm looking to get my band's name out there and just finding my voice. I still love you, Latisha, Meghan, Katie, Josie, Connie, Kymmy, and Crystal so much. I'm just exploring is all.

Alicia and Cody then finished their stretches and hugged each other tightly.

Alicia: Whatever happens..... I'll be there for you whenever you need me. For tonight, let's give the fans a great show.

Cody smiled until the mom and son soon joined the aunts as the Cherry Bombs all went on stage and performed their hearts out.

*Two Days Later*

Cody and his band all arrived to the music studio when they walked inside and were soon greeted by a woman.

Jackie: Hi. I'm the female vocalist for Mushroomhead, Jackie Laponza. You must be Damaged Generation.

Cody: Yep. You must be the former member that's coming back?

Jackie: Correct. Yeah, we've managed to settle our differences and here we are now. Come with me, the others are waiting for you.

Jackie then led Cody and the others to the rehearsal room where the other members of Mushroomhead were practicing until they paused their practices and the drummer went up to Cody to shake his hand.

Steve: What's up dude? Happy to have ya here!

Cody: Likewise.

Steve then patted Cody on the back until the singer of Mushroomhead, Jeffrey Nothing, stepped up to him.

Jeffrey: Hi, I'm Jeffrey Nothing. I'm one of the lead singers. You must be Cody Harris-Taylor.

Cody: Yep. That's me.

Jeffrey: You're not related to Corey Taylor are you?

Cody heard a threatening tone in Jeffrey's voice that got him suspecting something, but Cody was smart and knew what he had to say.

Cody: No. It was my mom's last name and she took care of me more than my dad did. So I use both names, but no I'm not related to Corey.

Jeffrey: Ok then. Alright, shall we get started then?

Jeffrey smiled and invited Cody and his band to practice with them when they all got their instruments out and Cody went up to his microphone after getting his guitar out.

*2 Hours Later*

After some time of rehearsals, Cody was hitting all of his screams which caught Jackie's attention in a good way, but someone wasn't liking it that much, that being Jeffrey when he paused the rehearsal yet again for the eighth time.

Jeffrey: What the hell are you doing man?! We don't want to have this song with nothing, but screams.

Cody: Well it's obvious, you haven't listened to our work close enough. If you're going to keep doing this then work on your screams instead of telling me how to do mine.

Jeffrey then got a little hostel when he grabbed Cody's shirt.

Jeffrey: Don't you ever fucking insult my talents ever again dipshit!

Steve and Isaiah then jumped in and pulled Jeffrey off of Cody as he was shouting stuff at him when Cody brushed off his shirt and hatefully stared at him.

Cody: Is that what you want? You want to fuck the rest of your band of getting another opportunity to bounce back after your almost failed 30 year career together? What is that Jeffrey?

Jeffrey: Oh fuck off! You don't know all the bullshit we went through to get here and even you know that!

Cody: All I know is that your head doesn't even fit your fucking ego!

Jeffrey tried to lash at Cody as Steve and Isaiah held him back and Josh stepped in to settle things down.

Josh: Alright. Alright guys. Look, enough fighting. Let's just go and take a break and meet back here in 20?

Everyone agreed and went to take a break as Cody went outside with Josh to smoke when he offered a cigarette to Cody.

Josh: Take it. You're gonna need it.

Cody then took the cigarette and smoked it as him and Josh talked for a bit.

Josh: I don't like the looks of this between you and Jeffrey.

Cody: Neither do I. I'm just gonna say it that we're not doing this. I don't know what the other guys think. but I don't feel comfortable doing this at all with them.

Josh: To tell you the truth, neither do I. Let's talk with the others and let's just go from there.

Cody agreed until the two of them finished their cigarettes and went back inside to talk with Isaiah, Collin, and Avery.

*Time Passes*

After Cody and Josh talked with the others, shockingly they wanted to do the tour, but Cody and Josh didn't. Isaiah, Avery, and Collin all ended up fighting with Cody and Josh about it and the two of them decided to break off with each other. With Cody being upset, he decided to walk around a bit until he found a room with a door cracked open. With his curiosity striking, Cody went over and opened it to find pictures of the guys in Slipknot with knives jabbed into them along with pictures of Alicia and the other Cherry Bombs.

Cody: Oh my god......

Cody then saw a picture of himself with Taylor and Lili which had a hatchet, a butcher knife, and a few bullet holes in them. Turns out Jeffrey knew who he was and he had a plan on doing something to him. What made Cody's stomach turn though was when he saw the tattoo design that Jeffrey was planning to get of himself holding Cody's severed head next to the one he has of himself exploding out of Corey like a skinsuit.

Cody: Jesus!

Cody then quickly left the room and found the closest bathroom where he threw up at the thought of it all. Once Cody finished, he flushed the toilet and washed his hands before throwing some water onto his face and acted fast when he called the cops first then Alicia and she picked up on the first ring.

Alicia: Hello? Honey? Is everything alright?

Cody:....... no.... I don't feel safe here mom. Jeffrey is a complete psychopath. I took pictures to show to the cops. They're on their way to the studio, but there's far more shit in here that will make your stomach turn.

Corey then chimed in.

Corey: We're coming right now. All of us..... just stay away from him until we do so.

Cody: Ok.... see you in a few.

Cody hung up the call and went to the rehearsal room where luckily it was empty and he started packing up his guitar and microphone frantically in fear for his life until he heard someone come in.

Jackie: You're leaving?

Cody: I have to. I'm not comfortable being here around Jeffrey or any of the others here. Josh feels the same way. That's why he got out when he did.

Cody finished packing his stuff as he turnt and it looked like Jackie had something to say.

Jackie: Cody before you go.... I have some stuff I need to get off of my chest.

Cody was a little confused, but he wa listening.

Jackie: I honestly think you're really cute. I've been keeping an eye on you since you started on the music scene and your dance skills have amazed me as well. Hell..... I have had a bit of a crush on you since then and Steve hasn't been good to me as of lately. I wanted to see if y-

Cody lightly put a finger over her lips and stopped her.

Cody: Those are all very nice remarks Jackie, but..... almost everyone in Mushroomhead hates me..... and eventually, they're gonna find out I'm apart of the Taylor family and probably beat me up or possibly kill me... again. Besides, I'm married and have an almost one year old daughter. Again, I appreciate all your remarks, but I'm sorry.

Jackie: It's ok.... I....... I understand.

Jackie then walked away heartbroken as she left with her hands in her pockets and Cody grabbed his stuff and started quickly leaving the studio when he was almost to the exit until Jeffrey stood in front of Cody.

Jeffrey: Where the fuck do you think you're going?!

Cody: I'm leaving! It's not safe here!

Jeffrey: The fuck you are! You're working with us and you're gonna fucking finish it!

Cody: I said only one rehearsal to see if I liked it. I don't like it! Get the fuck out of my way!

Cody bumped Jeffrey out of the way until he sucker punched Cody in the back of his head which sent Cody to the floor until Jeffrey began assaulting him.

Jeffrey: You fucking lied about being Corey's adopted son! Don't think I keep track of you copycat assholes at some times. Hell, the tattoo I got of me exploding out of that asshole should've come true.

Cody: And yet you're his bitch in this industry!

Jeffrey then punched Cody a few times again until he picked him up and pinned him against a wall with his hand around Cody's throat.

Jeffrey: Show me some goddamn respect dickhead!

Cody: I'll show it to you when you show me some bitch.

Jeffrey was about to hit Cody again until he heard a door burst open when Corey, Mick, Shawn, and Sid all rushed at Jeffrey and began to beat him up until the other members of Mushroomhead and Slipknot arrived and all started fighting each other. Shortly, the cops arrived and took care of the situation until Cody was escorted out of the building by two officers and he saw Taylor and Alicia run up to him and hug him before they walked him over to an ambulance.

*A few minutes later*

After the fighting stopped and Jeffrey was placed in handcuffs, Cody was questioned by the cops and he stated his case and wanted to press charges on Jeffrey as the officer thanked him before he went back to his patrol car and let Cody and the others go. Once Cody got on the tour bus with everyone, Cody sat between Taylor and Alicia when they nuzzled up with him as Cody took in their beauty which calmed them down.

Taylor then started wiping the blood trickling down Cody's lip.

Cody: Where's Lili?

Alicia: She's with Griffin, back at the hotel.

Taylor: He said that he'd watch her while we came to get you.

Alicia: I knew this would happen, I just knew it!

Taylor: How would he know that it would though? Jeffrey acted like he didn't know Cody, but it was a trap set up completely by him!

Alicia: I know! But I shouldn't have let my guard down!

Alicia then started crying when she put her face into the palms of her hands and started sobbing until Cody was quick to react when he embraced Alicia and hugged her until she calmed down.

Cody: Mom. Mom, I know. I know. It was something I had no control over. I didn't know Jeffrey was going to do that. He lied and he's going to jail for everything he did to me. I know you were just looking out for me, but like I said, I couldn't control what just happened.

Alicia: *sniffs* It just brought back so much trauma when you almost died. Jeffrey had intentions to do the same, but we didn't know!

Cody: I know mom. And I'm still here. We all didn't know this would happen, but I was ready for it. We're gonna go home now and we're gonna bounce back from this like we did last time. Besides..... me and Josh broke up the band so we're starting fresh.

Alicia looked up at him surprised when Cody wiped her tears away.

Cody: I love you mom. You supported me throughout my trauma and now it's my turn to do the same for you.

Alicia: *smiles* I love you too Cody.

Cody and Alicia hugged tightly as Corey came back to the car and drove everyone back to the hotel when Corey looked at Cody and Alicia hugging in the back seat until she nuzzled herself under Cody's arm.

Cody: The rest of my band...... they wanted to stay and do the tour so we broke up. It's just me and Josh now. Everything I've worked for...... the band, the music, the integrity..... it's all gone.

Corey: The way I see it is that this happened for a reason.

Cody: How so?

Corey: Well..... for one thing, you came up with the name of the band so that's legally yours. Also, you didn't exit alone, you've got at least one of your friends to help you. For tonight, let's just take it easy and we'll start looking in the morning.

Cody smiled and agreed with Corey until they arrived back their home where Cody was greeted by Griffin, Lili, and the aunts where they all hugged him and all decided on pizza for dinner.
