Drew Hayden. The name left a bitter taste in her mouth. Just who does that jerk think he is!? May tighten the grip she held on her poor, innocent cup of coffee. She growled through gritted teeth as she took a slip of coffee and burned her tongue. She shrieked in response. She wouldn't have been all over the place if she hadn't come across him in that Starbucks. He of course had start to tease her into a tizzy as always. It was just her luck to run into him on the weekend. The days she was supposed to be free of him.

Still she couldn't deny, those days without him. She really missed him. He was the first person who talked to her after she had moved. Yeah maybe he had been a bit rude, and his smirk made her fist itch to slug his pretty boy face, but he meant well. That is, if the words came out right. May couldn't deny, she had a soft spot for him. Okay maybe not a soft spot. More like, she really really liked him and had been crushing on him for quite sometime. However, she had no way to express the way she felt, other than through arguments, which somehow always made her end up in tears. All she wished, was for a chance to get to say how she felt.

May sat in the church pews. She gazed up at his perfect face as he exchanged vows with the one he loved. It was not her. No, it was not, and it ripped her apart inside. She never had the courage to tell him how she felt. So this was her punishment. She would just sit idly by, and pretend her tears of sadness, longing, and brokenness, where tears of joy and awe of how beautiful the couple was. He smiled softly at his bride, tucking a lose hair behind her ear. She smiled brightly at him before they leaned in. As their lips met, everyone clapped and cheered at their union. May forces a smile, as the fat tears she had been trying to suppress began to leak through. She watched as Drew scooped up his bride, bridal style and spun her around as they headed towards the door for the reception.

May didn't dance. She didn't eat or drink anything either. She just watched from the corner as Drew and his bride talked and laughed, holding each other's hands at the front of the room. What was the point anymore. Every time May tried, she would always interrupt. May felt her fist clench. She slammed it on the table. No, it wasn't her fault. She had had countless times to tell him her feelings. She just beat her too it. May wanted to scream and cry, but the reception wasn't over, and she was going to stay for him. She knew he hadn't seen her at all but he was scanning the attendees as if looking for someone. She could tell he gave up when he continued talking with his new wife. May just tightened her fist. If only I had had the courage to tell him.

When she got home, she knew exactly what she was going to do. She grabbed a piece of paper and wrote an explanation, her tears creating wet poke-dots. She went to her bathroom and grabbed what she needed.

A Couple Days Later. . .

"Drew! Check this out. How sad, there was a suicide on the night of our wedding," she frowned.

"Huh?" Drew called from the other room.

"Just come here and read this!" She exclaimed waving her phone frantically in the air.

"Alright, alright," Drew said.

Headline: Women Commits Suicide by Overdose.

Drew frowned as he took the phone from her and began to read more.

'24 year old, May Maple was found dead in her apartment late yesterday afternoon' Drew felt his heart stop.

'She was found by her friend 24 year old, Dawn Berlitz. "She was always so happy and positive, and such a fiery girl. I didn't expect this, but the past year and a half, she changed. She would always wear a smile, but it was forced, I could see it in her eyes, she was broken. She was always someone who faced problems head on, I would have never expected her to go this far' says Dawn. Her family was shocked to hear the news. "I honestly am in shock and can't believe it, my little girl, is gone," says her father, Norman Maple. "She was such a great sister, always sticking up for me, and' Drew could take anymore.

"Hey, Drew, that name sounds familiar," She trailed off. Drew' bangs hung over his eyes, creating a shadow.

"Drew? Drew?" She said, trying to snap him out of it.

"She was one of my best friends, she was at our wedding too," Drew chocked, looking up, revealing that his eyes were beginning to water. Suddenly, a knock on the door snapped him into a small state of focus.

"I got it," he told her, as he went to answer the door. He opened it, to see Dawn.

"Dawn? What are you doing here?" Drew asked, trying to hide the strain in his voice. Dawn's eyes were red, and the bags under her eyes were puffy. She was carrying a piece of paper in her hand.

"I found this on May's counter, by the way, the teardrops on the paper, aren't mine, they were there when I found it," Dawn sniffed as she handed him the sheet.

"What is it?" Drew asked, a sink pit forming in his stomach. He knew, but he didn't believe it.

"It's her suicide note," Dawn replied, breaking down into tears again. Drew invited her in, and shut the door. He made his way in the kitchen to read the piece of paper.

To the one who finds this note. I don't have that great of a reason. It's stupid really. But it hurts. Like I constantly am getting knives stabbed into my body. It hurts so bad. To Dawn. I'm sorry. I remember all the things we promised we would do with our husbands when we were older, but I just can't. You were my best friend, and I'll always love you. To Misty. You're a great boss. Always encouraging me to strive for the best, you gave me motivation and courage, but not the courage I needed. For Mom, Dad, and Max. I love so much. You were my greatest supporters. Don't think this was your fault at all. It had nothing to do with how you raised me. I was lucky to get to have such a great family when I was here, I watch over you, okay? To Drew. I don't even know where to start. I hope you are happy with her. Cherish her always, and hold her tight. I. There's so many things I wish I could have told you. I tried, but there would always something that drew your attention away. I never had the chance to tell you how I felt about you. I loved you. It just happened one day, I knew it. All the arguments, and insults were just a way to get close to you, even if you were a grass headed jerk. I know that I can't bear this anymore, I know that in my selfishness, I wouldn't be happy, seeing you happy with her. You meant so much to me, and I just couldn't be happy letting you go, which I hate myself for. What kind of friend am I if  I'm not happy for you, even if it tears me apart inside. You have to hold onto her, for me, love her, and never let her go. Give her all your love, and have a wonderful life together. I don't have to courage to say it out loud, and barely have to courage to say it on paper again, but I love you. I love all of you. I hope your lives are peaceful and happy, so just forget about me.

May.

At that point, the tears wouldn't stop falling from his eyes.

"Why May? Why didn't you just tell me?" He whispered. "Why didn't you just tell me?" He felt to his knees, and sat in a pool of misery. A ghost of a hand reached out and tried to wipe the tears, but it just went on through.

"It's okay, you'll forget about this someday," she whispered. Drew thought he heard someone talking.

"You were always the one and no one else. Goodbye Drew," a small voice made it to his ears and right as he looked up, he saw the apparition of a tearful May right as she faded away.

"I'll never forget you, because I loved you too," he whispered as his hand grasped nothing but air. She was truly gone.

-A/N-

That's my first try at an angst one shot, I've always wanted to write something that can make someone cry. I made myself cry writing this at the end, if that counts. *someone shouts off screen* "NO IT DOESNT" anyways, I hope you enjoyed this. Oh, true fact, I told my dad I was an Otaku, and he asked me what kind of taco it was >~< . Totally random and irrelevant but, SCREW IT! Bye guys!
