Yes it's that time of year again it's December And Christmas is right around the corner. Now this is where everything starts to change you go from Thanksgiving ever huge giant dinner and laughing and telling jokes to the weather getting cold and the lights on the houses light up the sky.

This is when the weather changes so much that you go from it being a cool crisp type of air to weather being freezing cold and it starts to snow. Some people get the unlucky part of Christmas and will end up sick and other people will get the cold ears effects, but they also get to see the beauty in this cold wintry weather.

Now what I love during this time of the year is when you start decorating the outside of your house with Christmas lights. See the one thing that I loved as a child that I can remember is that I would get this huge blanket and I would have this big coat on with my mittens and my mom and dad would put me in the car and we would go to different neighborhoods and watch the Christmas lights. It was completely amazing I mean just pure beauty I've seen the white and blue and green and the red lights. I mean in the child's eyes it looks like magic,  even know now that I'm grown up every time I see Christmas lights outside I stopped and I am just completely in awe at the beauty .

After everybody's got the outside Christmas lights done next would come decorating the inside of the house. See with my mom it looks like Christmas puked in her house, you have the Christmas tree with all of the Christmas ornaments and the lights then you would have things hanging from the fireplace the stockings the and also Christmas ornaments that she would tape up there just to give it a little pizzazz. It is just so amazing and don't forget about the stairs boy she had to have those stairs done and also her little Christmas lights on the stairs as well.

But you know my mother really does have an eye for design I just love the way how she does things to the house.

Now what is  Christmas without some Christmas gifts yep get your wallet out everybody because we're going shopping. Now don't get me wrong I do love giving gifts if I could I would give gifts to every person I saw, but you know Christmas shopping is very expensive. You may not know it but you can spend up to $500, heck I'm still Christmas shopping and guess what I'm already up by $200 and I've only bought a few things now yes Christmas shopping is expensive but you know Christmas comes once a year so you know what why not.

The only stressful parts that I would have to say is thinking of that person and what they might like. Now people tend to get stressed out when they think about giving a.gift for your love one if that's either your boyfriend your girlfriend your wife or your husband.

You know you sit there for at least hours on end thinking of what they might like and if you don't you're one of the lucky ones I know it would take me till July to think what my boyfriend might like for Christmas the second person that you might find hard to give Christmas gifts to is your mom or your dad or both. Of course when you're older and you have a job you can go out and actually buy a gift instead of making gifts you normally would do.

Now I don't know about you but I love wrapping gifts it's kind of like folding laundry. For me it's very relaxing once you're done wrapping the gifts and you stick them under the tree where you could the torture everybody on what's on the inside of the box for who-knows-how-long. It all depends on when you wrap the gift and when you put it under the tree.

Now it's the day before Christmas, Christmas Eve yep you got the eggnog going, the  ls'mores up and ready and you might have a gingerbread house that is most likely half eaten by now.

There are two important things that everybody is pretty much doing when it's Christmas eve. The Christmas dinner and opening your first gift. The Christmas dinner you would start first because you know that the whole family is coming. Now with Christmas dinner you may realize that there's a lot more arguments over that.

For an example every year on the holidays for Thanksgiving and Christmas my mom loves making ham and it's to die for. However the Mother-in-law also likes making ham and so they would fight for two days on who would get to make the ham and who would make the turkey.  Eventually they will just draw the line and that's what they both make the ham.

Now what I love about Christmas Eve is that you could sneak peek what's going to be your gifts. I think parents love watching the excitement that's on a kid's face, for weeks weeks the kids have been waiting for this and tonight they get to pick out one gift. You get to see him or her run to the Christmas tree and you know how kids are they try to pick the biggest gift that they find. Of course the parents stop them and say no you have to get the smaller gift, pick a different gift and they know how the kids wanted to open the big gift. The parents want to see that expression tomorrow when you open that gift to see what's on the inside.

Noe picking which kid gets to open their gifts for first is one of the challenges, because you want to see the expression in they face. I think parents should start off by how old the kid is. I think the hardest part for me to open that one gift and then being told I have to go to bed now. I toss and turn and all night. I want to just  want to go downstairs and open all those presents or at least take a sneak peek and put them put them back together.

You wake up and guess what it's Christmas finally this long drawn-out hours are finally here. The kids run down the stairs and the parents wake up because they can hear the thump thump thump of the kids going down the stairs as they dash for the Christmas tree and pick out their gifts. The parents come outside rubbing their eyes as they smile softly at the two kids that say sit down the kids will look up at their parents your eyes asking if they can open this as a parent would not their head. The parents will get to watch their kids open their gifts of course the parents had their own gifts to open and you know they would open their gifts and smile and say thank you, but it's just something about watching the kids open their gifts is truly the best part of Christmas.

Now all the Christmas gifts are open and guess what you have a huge amount of pile of trash on your floor and well you gotta pick all that stuff up and it's a good time ten minutes to clean up. Then everybody has to go get ready to go over to their families house to open more gifts.

Everybody has a different family for example my grandmother she's completely nice to your face but as soon as you turn around she's got some drama up her sleeves or she's talking bad about you. Never trust the sister-in-law who hates your mother's guts and decides to buy her an ugly scarf for her Christmas gift. Yep that's the type of sister-in-law I have. Then you have the Mother-in-law,  of oh boy oh boy. Now remember how I was talking about how there's always a fight between who's going to make the ham? Then they both make it? Yup that's her. See my mother and the mother in law seem like they are getting along pretty well together.

Next you got the crazy family who loves to start drama, then you have the two different type of kids. You got the one kids that are good and sweet and kind then you have the other kids who expect what they have wanted.

No Christmas is not about the Christmas dinner or getting those Christmas gifts that you always wanted it's about being with family. Having fun with the drama and laughing at their jokes. It's just about bringing people together so instead of focusing on what you should get for people or what you're going to make, how about you just enjoy the fact that everybody has come together for this one holiday so get your camera out get your video tape out and capture these moments because you know they're not going to last forever and you want to be able look back on it and smile and laugh at it.
